How much are the chimp and golden monkey permits? Is it too late to get them if I do the Sept 29 trip?

For the 29th September Grand Adventurer departure, we still have available permits for all three primate treks which are: Gorillas - £750 per person, Chimps - £130 per person, Golden Monkeys - £155 per person. The Serengeti & Ngorongoro add-on is at £695 per person. The minimum age for our trips is 18 years.

Visas: can we use East Africa Tourist Visa for whole itinerary of this tour? If we apply for EATV, we should apply through Kenya one, right? How much is the airport transfer? What is the meeting point and meeting time for this tour? How much is the pre-tour accommodation? How about post-tour accommodation? What time is the finish time on the last day?

Airport transfers are £25 for 1 person, £15 p/p for 2 people, or £10 p/p for 3 people. Extra nights in a Dorm Room are £35 per person per night. We depart Nairobi from Wildebeest Eco Camp first thing in the morning on Day 1, around 08.00am. We will get back into Nairobi in the afternoon on the last day. You can fly out that day if your flight departs after around 9pm.

When do I register for the Gorilla permit?

Gorilla Trekking Permit requires full payment at time of booking and is subject to availability. We normally book permits for the whole group around 4 months before departure to ensure everyone does it on the same day.

Can you tell me the cost of the gorilla trek add-on for the Nov 7th tour from Nairobi to Nairobi?

The Gorilla Trekking Permit will cost £710 per person. We will need to check availability before confirmation.

What is included in the tour?

You get great things included in this cost, for example you would go on a safari around Lake Nakuru National Park, which not so many people have heard of. This means there are less vehicles competing in the park, making the safari a more unique experience, plus there is so much wildlife to witness over there - lions, hippos, water buffalo, white rhinos, black rhinos, not to mention the giraffe and all the birdlife. Camping on the edge of lake Naivasha is also part of your trip, where you can often hear the sounds of hippos from your tents! In Uganda you get to go to a place where you stay on the edge of the White Nile (again not a bad view to wake up to!)

  Why does EATV (East Africa Tourist Visa) no longer covers Kenya? Do I have to apply for 2x Tourist Visa? Is it ok that Indonesian does not need visa for Rwanda, British does not need one either? Do we need to bring our own sleeping mat for this tour? What documents will you provide for visa application?

  Kenya pulled out of the East Africa Tourist visa arrangement. You need one ETA for Kenya which covers second entry. For Uganda, apply for an East Africa Visa or multiple entry visa. For Rwanda, you don't need visa. You do need to bring a sleeping bag and camping mat. We will provide dates and names of border crossings for visa applications.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 24th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 24th, 2026, a minimum payment of $450 is required to confirm your booking with Oasis Overland. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
