For this trip the group will be camping the entire time. We only spend the first night at a hotel which will be the Indaba Hotel. Accommodation Camping (with facilities) (6 nights), Bush camp (no facilities) (2 nights), Hotel (1 night)

At the moment, we do not offer a 5-day Okavango trip. However, we do have the following options available: Premium Botswana – 7 days Okavango & Beyond – 9 days Okavango Experience – 10 days The Premium Botswana (7-day) itinerary is the closest match to what you're looking for.

For the Okavango Experience, the trip is primarily camping-based. However, there is an option to upgrade to a private room at some campsites for an additional cost. These upgrades will not be equivalent to a full 3-4 star lodge or hotel, but they do provide more privacy and comfort compared to standard camping.

How many travelers are needed to avail group rates and Tour Conductor Credit?

The standard requirements are a minimum of 4-5 travelers and at least 5 nights 4 days for a privatized trip.

Will i still be able to join the 10 day Okavango experience tour? Im planning to join the tour next year in May.

Yes, arriving late on the first day of the Okavango Experience tour would generally be okay, as we can keep the tour leader informed.

Do I need any visa to join this trip?

We strongly recommend that you check with the consulate or embassy of your destination(s) for the most accurate and up-to-date entry requirements.

What are the pick-up times for the cruises?

All our cruises pick up from 15h20 and the boat leaves at 16h00 in Winter times (May-August); pick up starts at 15h50 and boat leaves at 16h30 in Summer times (September-April).

Really beat my expectations of what I originally thought the camping was going to be. Tents and equipment were good and the crew on the tour were fab! The food was unbelievable! Not what I was expecting. Trips / days were well organised and everyone was helpful. I would recommend adding a few must to the list interms of headtorch was a must, used every night. Currency, defiantly take pula and USD I had to use the ATM at times which wasnt what I wanted. Zimbabwe boarder crossing is more expensive for Brits $55 they prefer cash. Overall the whole experience was ace, the overland truck and crew were are on the road family! Would recommend this tour. 10 days camping was plenty for me though outing tents up and down. Great experience!!Show more

For me the highlight was the Okavanga, being hosted by local villagers and being on our own little island. The Chobe was also very rewarding. Timings were excellent throughout - we never felt rushed but made the most of all daylight hours. A few suggestions: 1 The last overland truck journey I took involved a truck that had lighting all down the cooking side of the truck. This helped with the food preparation, eating and washing up. I would suggest adding such lighting on all your trucks as well. 2 Our guide explained options at Victoria Falls. I think a small map of the area could also have been usefully distributed. Also the fact that the Vctoria Falls hotel no longer serves afternoon teas to visitors did not seem to be known by our guides - so I wasted a short walk. 3 Communication prior to the journey was very poor. I repeatedly asked questions but either did not get answers or the answers came too late. Even the email inviting me to submit a review said it was `the last chance` but in fact it was the first!Show more

  Am I allowed to bring a suitcase or a backpack to put my clothes? Is this Okavango tour basically a camping tour that we will be sleeping in a tent? Are we building the tent or it is already set up for us?

  The luggage weight limit is maximum 20kg per person. Accommodation on this trip is mainly in two-person canvas dome tents with camping mattresses supplied and the group will have to set up the tents.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Intrepid Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
