London

Head into Switzerland passing Geneva's Palace of Nations, the UN's European headquarters. Check out the English Garden with its flower clock and the Jet d'Eau fountain. After lunch, continue on scenic routes alongside Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchatel through the Three Lakes region, with vineyard views along the way. Stop in Neuchatel to walk by the lake, see the historic center, or visit the 10th-century castle. Pull into Zurich by late afternoon.

Then board a nearly two-hour cruise on Lake Zurich with short stops at charming villages along the way. The boat stops in Rapperswil, a medieval village worth exploring, before you take the train back to Zurich.

- Day 11
Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Get ready for Alpine landscapes with tall mountains and clear lakes. The first stop is Grindelwald for coffee, then you'll take a cable car up the mountain and walk along a winding trail to a suspended bridge. Adventurous travelers can cross it for views of the glacier. Lunch happens on the mountain. Next comes Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most beautiful cities, where you'll have time to wander before heading back to Zurich. A full-day optional excursion is available that starts early and includes the Mount Titlis rotating cable car to the 3,000 plus meter summit.

Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
Leave Zurich early to cross the Alps toward the Italian-speaking Swiss region. Stop in Bellinzona to see three UNESCO-listed medieval castles sitting on hills above the city and walk through the charming old center. Continue into Italy and stop in Como for lunch, a gorgeous Lombardy town known for lakeside gardens and an impressive cathedral. After lunch, travel to Milan where your guide takes you through Piazza del Duomo before you head to the hotel.

Travel to Pisa and take a small tourist train to Piazza dei Miracoli, where you'll have time to look at one of Italy's most beautiful art complexes including the famous Leaning Tower. After that, head to Rome, arriving later in the evening.

- Day 14
Rome
Start with a three-hour guided tour combining walking through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride. You'll see the Arch of Constantine, the Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant'Angelo. The tour wraps up at Vatican City around 11 a.m., and your guide can arrange an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel if interested. Later, transfer to Trastevere for dinner with a return to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
