  the tour we want starts on October 12th (3 day tour). we need a hotel for October 11th. where will we be on the 12th when the tour starts? I need an extra day, the 11th in the same hotel.

    The cost for an extra night in Reykjavík is 92 EUR per person in a double room per night. We do however have a 5 day version of the same tour which has the nights in Reykjavík already included.

  If my flight arrives around 6:30am, would I have enough time for the start of this tour?

    The bus departs Reykjavík at 9 am, and with the current wait times through the passport control it is highly unlikely you would be able to make it all the way into Reykjavík before 9 am. If you would like to chance it, the best way would be to book a private transfer with us from the airport for that morning and our fleet management can coordinate with the drivers to see if it is possible to wait a few minutes or meet on the way out of Reykjavík. If however there is a significant delay, you would have to find a way to join the group if it has already left the city. We can arrange transport but it will cost more than a standard airport transfer, and the price will be based on how far you would have to go to join the group.

    The private Airport transfer to Reykjavík costs 179 EUR one way. If you would have to go further we would have to calculate based on how far you would go.

    Would it be possible to add on a pre and post tour hotel accommodation at Reykjavík. If so, how do I go about doing that here at TourRadar, and how much would it cost?

    If you would like to add both pre and post accommodation in Reykjavík, then we would suggest that you check out our 5-Day Northern Lights Hunt Tour. Then you would have accommodation from the 13th till the 17th of September. The 13th is the arrival day and the 17th is departure day, so no activities are planned on those days.

    Day 1 is the arrival day and 5th day is the departure day, so no activities or meet ups with the guide are planned on those days.

    Since the Blue Lagoon visit is a part of the tour itinerary on day 4 it is not possible to move it to day 5.

    The hotel in Reykjavík is Hotel Reykjavík Lights and in the countryside it is Hotel Katla. The check in at Reykjavík Lights is after 15 o'clock and the check out is at 11:00.

    For the Blue Lagoon add-on, how long would that visit be? If I don't book it, would we wait for other guests to finish bathing in the the lagoon before the shuttle takes us back to Reykjavik? Or would they be using a different shuttle?

    The Blue Lagoon stop usually takes around 2 hours. The entire group is taken to the lagoon and those who have added the admission will enjoy the water while the rest can have a walk around the rea or enjoy refreshments at the café. After the 2 hours the entire group is then taken back to Reykjavík to the hotel for check in.

    Since Blue Lagoon is the last activity of the tour, would it be fine if I stay at the lagoon until closing and I can find my own travel back to the hotel? Also for the day 5 shuttle to the airport, how flexible is the pick time for it?

    We can certainly drop you off at the Blue Lagoon and you can make your own way later to your hotel. You would however need to have your luggage taken out of the bus at the Blue Lagoon, as we are not be able to deliver it to your accommodation without you present. For the departure transfer, e normally book this closer to the travel date so we would just wait for your confirmation on which time your flight is booked and arrange based on this.

  I wish to know more about this tour. I got two queries on it. 1. Blue ice cave I wish to join, but I would like to know the duration of the glacier hike. And also wish to know would more than 1 ice cave be visited. 2. Blue lagoon I would pay for the optional Blue Lagoon admission. But may I know how long would I able to stay for the spa, and would returning back to reykjavik is still included? Because I understand this is an optional activity, which some people might not join and therefore would return to reykjavik first. Therefore, if I stay for Blue Lagoon, do I have to buy my own Flybus ticket for going back to reykjavik. This is my concern.

    Here are the answers to your questions:
    1. The Blue Ice Cave tour takes about 2-3 hours and there is one main big ice cave that you will visit but might see some smaller once as well. 
    
    2. The stop at the Blue Lagoon is for 2 hours. Those who do not book the Blue Lagoon are not dropped off in Reykjavík, they come with the group to the lagoon and can either relax at the café or go for a walk around the area. The return back to Reykjavík is included, the guide waits for the group at the lagoon while they enjoy their visit.

  Solo female traveller interested in Iceland tours. Trip: 3 to 5 days, based out of Reykjavik, flexible across May to September 2025. Activities of interest: Reykjavik city walking tour, Golden Circle, South Coast with Diamond Beach, Thingvellir National Park, Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon (including boat tour if available), Whale watching. Activity restrictions: No hiking, trekking, or river rafting. Easy intensity only. Accommodation requirements: Budget-friendly, Elevator required unless accommodation is on the ground floor. Airport shuttle (pick-up and drop-off from accommodation) would be a strong preference if available. Which tours best match these requirements? Whether the accommodation properties on your itinerary have elevator access or are ground-floor rooms? Whether airport shuttle service is available and how it is arranged? Any solo traveller supplement or room-share option for solo female travellers?

  Do you include any sort of winter suits or appropriate clothing for viewing the Northern Lights? And what is the likeliness of seeing the Northern lights (looking at early Feb dates)

    We do not offer any clothing or equipment. Guests are recommended to bring warm, wind and water prove clothing to be able to enjoy the tour to the fullest. There are clothing rentals in Reykjavík where you can rent warm clothing. February is a good time to see the Northern Lights, but of course the weather here in Iceland can be very unpredictable and therefor never a guarantee that you will see the Northern lights.

  Is there a way to see the ice cave tour for jokulsalrun? Is it included or just from far away? Or extra excursions?

    In this tour you will go to the Jökulsárlón (Glacier Lagoon) but there is no Ice Cave included. You can add the Blue lagoon admission on the last day the price for that is 85 EUR per person.

  I am interested in the 3 day tour starting 13 Feb 2026. My question is regarding the time. The flight that I can take arrives 13 Feb at 06:30 am. How far is the keflavik airport to reykjavik drive? I know the tour starts from 0800 to 0900. Will I have time to be there on time?

    It takes about 50 minutes to drive from KEF to Reykjavík. We do offer shared airport shuttle transfer with return - costs 68 EUR. Or private airport transfer with return - costs 340 EUR (1-3 person). The pick-up will be from Hotel Klettur and it starts at 08:30 so you should be able to make it on time if your flight isn't delayed.

    There is only one main international airport in Iceland, Keflavik International Airport (KEF). It is about a 45 minute drive from Reykjavík City. The bus departs at 09:00 am so it is advisable to be already in Iceland, we can pick up from most hotels or designated bus stops in Reykjavík if you chose to book your own accommodation the night before and after the tour.

    If you are arriving at 7 am on the 24th November unfortunately you will not make it to the departure at 09:00 from Reykjavík. How long will you be staying in Iceland? Perhaps we have another tour that would suit your needs better in terms of dates.

    The hotel used in Vik is Hotel Katla by Keahotels. For lunch there will be plenty of restaurants on the way, during rest stops. For the dinner we recommend dining at Hotel Katla, but if you would like to dine in Vik there are a few options to chose from. You would have o make your own way from the hotel into the town, they do have some taxi services. The Blue Lagoon stop is 2 hours, if you do not wish to get in the water you are able to walk around outside or have some refreshments in the cafe while waiting for the rest of the group.
