Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Mt. Etjo
You'll get picked up from your Windhoek place and drive north to Okahandja where there's a wood carving market full of authentic Namibian souvenirs to browse. From there, continue to Mt. Etjo campsite, which sits next to Okonjati Game Reserve. The lodge has a Moroccan style with a pool you can use before heading out on a three-hour game drive looking for the Big Five and other wildlife. After returning, dinner happens over an open fire, and you'll stop by the lodge's lion feeding enclosure before your first night under canvas.

Mt. Etjo to Etosha National Park
After breakfast, head north toward Etosha National Park and make a supply stop in Outjo. There's a short game drive between Anderson Gate and Okaukuejo Camp where you'll spot big game fairly quickly. Get camp set up, then go out again in the afternoon searching for elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and big cats. By evening, walk to the floodlit waterhole near camp, which gives you the best chance to see black rhinos and other Etosha animals up close.

- Day 3
Etosha National Park
Start early at sunrise to make the most of your Etosha time. You'll ride in an open game viewer with a local guide to check out waterholes where wildlife comes to drink in the morning, hopefully catching big cats returning from night hunts. Drive over to Halali camp for lunch and a swim in the pool, then explore the Halali waterhole. Before heading back to Okaukuejo, you'll see the Etosha Pan itself, over 4,700 square km of white mineral pan that's visible from space, then catch the sunset at the floodlit waterhole.

Etosha National Park to Palmwag
Have an early breakfast and a game drive to exit Etosha, then visit Otjikandero Himba Village near Kamanjab to see how residents keep their cultural traditions alive. From there, head west toward the Etendeka Mountains and Grootberg Pass, driving through terrain covered in small boulders left over from ancient Gondwanaland breakup. You'll arrive at Palmwag on the Uniab River under makalani palms in time for sundowners, and this area is home to Namibia's desert-adapted elephants.

- Day 5
Palmwag to Spitzkoppe
Head west to the Atlantic Ocean and then travel south along the Skeleton Coast, passing Welwitschia Mirabilis plants along the way. Enter through Springbokwasser Gate to explore the barren Skeleton Coast National Park, stopping at an abandoned oil drilling machine near Toscanini. Visit Cape Cross to see the massive seal colony with over 100,000 Cape fur seals, then head inland to the Spitzkoppe granite mountains. Set up camp and go out for a sunset excursion into the mountains.

- Day 6
Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund
Head back to the coast and travel south along the coast road toward Swakopmund. Stop to see The Zeila shipwreck that beached in 2008, then walk through the vast lichen fields along the Skeleton Coast where these rare macro-lichen ecosystems grow in abundance. Continue to Swakopmund, a coastal town founded in 1892 with colonial German architecture. You'll be dropped at your accommodation, and lunch, dinner, and lodging are on your own account.
