Reviews of Small Group tours to Namibia
- Classic Namibia 12 Days DEPARTING SATURDAYS **Sustainable Approach to Travel
We visited a huge amount of sites in Namibia without feeling time pressured. Our leader and driver, Erastus and Michael worked so hard and succeeded making the trip a pleasure for us all. This tour of Namibia is wonderful and I feel as though saw the best of this beautiful country. We learned a lot about the country as we toured.
- 10 Days Northern Namibia, Damaraland, Coast & Sossusvlei Camping Safari
We had a very pleasant 10 days tour of Namibia, thanks to the excellent guides working for Blue Crane Safaris. The guides Me-Gusto and Eve-Frans were energetic and very knowledgeable about the people, wild life and geology of their country. Excellent safe driving, good meals and a good night's rest in a comfortable tent completed a well-planned tour. We recommend this tour to nature lovers who want to discover Namibia's wide open spaces, wild life, rugged mountains, sand dunes and starry nights. Finding the elusive dessert elephants was one of the highlights. Web hope to come again.

What our customers ask about Namibia Small Group Tours
What is the typical group size for Namibia small group tours?
Namibia small group tours generally consist of 4-8 travelers which ensures everyone gets a window seat during game drives and transportation. The smaller setting creates a more relaxed pace and lets guides adjust plans based on the group's interests. At locations like Etosha National Park guides can spend extra time at waterholes when wildlife appears or linger longer at Sossusvlei's dunes for photography. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "The group size was perfect - we started as three people and then were just two which allowed us to have some influence on the journey and timing at different locations."
What type of accommodation can I expect on a small group tour in Namibia?
Accommodations range from well-appointed lodges to authentic desert camping experiences. Travelers stay in properties like the coastal Hotel A La Mer in Swakopmund the wildlife-focused Okaukuejo Resort in Etosha and desert camps near the Sesriem area. A TourRadar traveler noted "the Agama Lodge and its infinity pool were AMAZING while Halali village in Etosha provided incredible waterhole viewing opportunities right from our accommodation."
How much interaction is there between group members on small group tours?
The small group format naturally brings travelers together through shared daily activities. Groups often bond during early morning game drives in Etosha National Park sunset dune climbs in Sossusvlei and meals at places like Hotel A La Mer. One TourRadar traveler mentioned: "Made friends saw amazing landscapes and wildlife and loved it!"
What personalized experiences are possible with a small group tour in Namibia?
Smaller groups allow guides to tailor experiences to individual interests. This flexibility means private visits to Himba villages near Kamanjab extended photo sessions at Deadvlei or adjusting schedules for thorough exploration of sites like Kolmanskop Ghost Town. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our guide could customize our experience like spending extra time at Dead Vlei for photography instead of rushing through with larger groups."
What level of guiding can I expect on a small group Namibia tour?
Tours are led by certified English-speaking guides with deep knowledge of Namibian wildlife culture and landscapes. These experts provide detailed context at sites like Fish River Canyon and share insights about desert adaptations at Kolmanskop. A TourRadar traveler commented: "Our guide Immanuel was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in Etosha and knew exactly where to find the animals. His expertise made our safari experience exceptional."
How do meal arrangements work on small group tours in Namibia?
Tours typically cover daily breakfast picnic lunches and select dinners. Guides often prepare meals at scenic locations such as traditional BBQ dinners under the stars at Sesriem campsite near Sossusvlei. A TourRadar traveler reported: "Johnny was excellent at cooking and we enjoyed great BBQ and stew. The food quality was consistently high throughout the journey."
