  I only want to join the tour from day 2- day 7 as I am already in Cape Town. Is it possible to just join those days and could I get a reduced rate?

    You could technically join the tour from Day 2 to Day 7, however, we do not offer reduced rates for missed services, as our tours are sold as complete packages. This means you would need to forfeit the days/services missed. You would also be responsible for meeting the group on Day 2 and departing from the group on Day 7 as planned.

    that is a bit strange that I would have to pay for the full package price, even though I would not participate it the last three days and get my transportation back to Windhoek by myself..

    Our tours are priced and operated as a full package, which includes all accommodations, transport, guides, and services arranged for the entire itinerary. Because these services are contracted and secured in advance for the group as a whole, the price remains the same even if a traveller chooses to leave the tour early.

    The optional activities are all booked in destination with the guide and can be paid for in cash or card. Only the following two need to be pre booked: Swakopmund Skydiving and South African Wine Tour and Tasting.

    Is Day 1 (Apr 8th) only the arrival in Cape Town with no activities? When do we leave Cape Town?

    There are no set activities for Day 1 of the tour. You would have a welcome meeting with the group on Day 1, which would be around 5-7pm. You would only leave Cape Town on Day 2 of the tour.

    Where will you stay during the trip?
    Hotels (5 nts), guesthouse (1 nt), lodges (1 nt), serviced camping (4 nts).
    
    Do any exceptions apply to Rooming or "My Own Room" on you tour?
    Day 5-6, 9-10 (tented camp).
    
    What kind of accommodation can you expect on this trip?
    Hotel/Guesthouse 7 nights in standard twin rooms with en suite or shared facilities.
    
    Participation Camping (please bring your sleeping bag and towel)
    4 nights are spent in tents in Etosha National Park and Sesriem Area. Tents are twin with shared ablutions.
    
    Participation Camping -
    An essential part of your safari is participation. The group is usually divided into small groups and given different tasks which change on a day to day basis, from kitchen duty group (helping in prepare meals and clean up afterwards), the packing group (sets up all tables and chairs outside) and the cleaning group (which cleans the truck by emptying the rubbish bin and brooming).
    
    It is all part of your adventure and when everyone puts in a little effort the trip will run smoothly. Your CEOs will do all the meal preparation, but we do ask the clients to help with the washing up.
    
    Team spirit is part of the fun! All camping equipment (with the exception of your sleeping bag and pillow) is supplied. We supply dome tents and assembly/disassembly takes only 5 minutes where required (if the campsite is not permanent).
    
    All tents have built-in insect nets. Tents are twin with shared ablutions. Please note that due to the high demand for accommodation in the parks, sometimes we will arrange alternative accommodation outside of the park.

    We understand your request for a triple room. Unfortunately, triple room accommodation on this tour is only permitted when adults are travelling with a minor (under 12 years of age), in line with G Adventures' accommodation policies. As this tour is designed primarily around twin-share or single accommodation, triple rooms are not available for adult-only bookings.
    
    Single supplement – We can request and check availability for a single room for a solo traveller (subject to availability and additional cost).
    Twin rooms close together – If you are travelling with others, we can request rooms that are next to or close to each other when the booking is made (please note this is always subject to availability).

  Would Walvis Bay be considered near there to see the dunes overlooking the ocean?

    Walvis Bay does have sand dunes which reach the ocean as well as Swakopmund. Here you can do some optional activities to explore this coastal desert landscape. Swakopmund and Walvis Bay are both along the Skeleton Coast they are just not in the National Park but are part of the long coast line of the Skeleton Coast.

    Your tour guide will always recommend places to eat and will often book a table for dinner for the whole group to eat together should you wish to. We recommend that you allow around USD250-325 for meals not included.

    After looking over your departure, I can tell you that 14 travellers are currently booked. The majority of travellers are in their 30s and 40s and there are a few in their 60s and 70s. There are 5 other solo travellers.

    It is advised to bring a first-aid kit, which should contain items such as lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen, a whistle, aspirin, ibuprofen, bandaids, tape, anti-histamines, antibacterial gel or wipes, antiseptic cream, medication for mild cases of diarrhea, rehydration powder, water purification tablets or drops, insect repellent, a sewing kit, and any extra prescription drugs you may be taking.
