Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu
A Sherpa Expedition representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport and drives you to your hotel. This evening you'll head to the office for a pre-trek meeting where you'll connect with your trekking guide. Bring your passport, three passport-size photos, and a copy of your travel insurance. You'll also need to settle any remaining balance, sign the trip form, and acknowledge the non-liability disclaimer.

Lukla to Phakding
You'll catch a flight from Kathmandu to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla. From there, the trek begins through Chaurikharka Village, and you'll make your way up to Dudh Koshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft) before heading to Phakding Village. Along the route you'll stop at Rimishung Monastery to see the grounds.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Today involves crossing multiple suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River while walking through Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo. You'll reach the Sagarmatha National Park entrance where you show your permit. After following the river for several hours and crossing the final Hillary suspension bridge, there's a steep uphill section to Namche Bazaar, which has restaurants, internet cafes, pubs, post office, ATM, and banks.

- Day 4
Namche Bazaar
You'll spend today acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar. Rather than resting, health specialists recommend staying active, so you can take a short trek to Everest View Resort, visit Thame or Khunde, or walk around Namche itself. Stop by the Tourist Visitor Center near the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters to check out relics from early mountaineers. The town has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery, and a lively market on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
The trek follows the swift-flowing Dudh Kosi River with great views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Taboche Peak, and Amadablam. You'll reach Tengboche (3,800m/12,460ft) and visit the Tengboche monastery with its ornate wall hangings, 20-foot Buddha sculpture, Lama robes, and musical instruments. Depending on timing, you might catch a prayer ceremony in the evening or morning.

Tengboche to Thukla
Early morning brings stone steps as you pass through Horse and Sonora before stopping at Pheriche for lunch. The trail flattens out after that, passing several tea shops, and you'll reach Thukla Village for the night.

Landmarks Pheriche - Day 7
Thukla to Everest Base Camp
You'll continue higher along the Everest Base Camp Trek trail, passing the Pyramid and Lobuche Pass (5,110m/16,765ft), then Tsho Lake at Gorakshep. After lunch at Gorakshep, you'll trek up to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft) to take in the views before heading back to Gorakshep for the night.

Kala Pathar to Pheriche
An early start takes you to Kala Pathar (5,550m/18,209ft), which takes about two hours. From this spot you'll see endless views of Mt. Everest and other snow-capped peaks, and this is actually where those famous Everest photos you see online come from. After enjoying the views, you'll descend to Gorakshep for tea, then keep going down to Pheriche for the night.

Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
The trekking is much easier today as you head downhill through Debouche and Tengboche until reaching Phunke Tenga. You'll cross a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and continue to Namche Bazaar, where you can see Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache, and Lhotse. You'll stay in Namche Bazaar overnight.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
A long 7-hour trek from Namche Bazaar down to Lukla, which is mostly downhill with some level sections. You'll leave Sagarmatha National Park and eventually reach Lukla, where you'll stay for the night.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Your morning flight gets you back to Kathmandu in about 30 minutes. During the flight you'll see incredible views of peaks throughout the Himalaya Ranges. Your guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel near Thamel.

Kathmandu
Your time in Nepal concludes today. A company representative will take you to the airport about 3 hours before your flight. On the way home, you'll have time to think back on the Himalayan Mountains and start planning what comes next.
