Reviews of Small Group tours to Nepal
- Small Group Everest Base Camp Trek
This adventure far exceeded my expectations! While not for the faint at heart, this adventure is sure to make memories to last a lifetime. Our guides and Porters were fantastic. They kept us alive the entire trip and went out of their way to make sure we had the best possible experience. I will truly miss my new friends.
- Everest Base Camp Group Tour
Throughout the whole trip, the guides were nothing but well knowledge, supportive, fun, and professional. And when poor weather made certain aspects very tricky towards the end of the trip, the whole team of guides worked tirelessly under very stressful conditions to make sure everyone was safe and what's more, they were always happy, smiling, calming, and sincere. Special thanks to our main guide Phurba Sherpa, a truly great man who couldn't imagine the trip without anyone else at the helm. This is the first and only review I've ever left for anything so you know I mean it when I say I highly recommend these guys.
- Lobuche East Peak Climbing 6,119 m/(20,075 ft) Group Join From Lobuche
my husband and I had the privilege of summiting Lobuche Peak with my husband, and I must say, it was an absolutely incredible experience. Our guide, Pasang, from Nice Sherpa Expedition, was not only knowledgeable and experienced, but also incredibly kind and friendly. He made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the entire expedition. Nepal Peak Expeditions, the company we chose for this adventure, proved to be highly professional and well-organized. They took care of all the necessary arrangements, from permits to logistics, ensuring a seamless and stress-free journey for us. The team was extremely prompt in their communication, and we felt well-informed and prepared for the climb. One aspect that truly impressed us was the exceptional service provided by our porter. He was hardworking, dedicated, and always had a smile on his face. He took care of all our gear and made sure we had everything we needed, allowing us to focus on the climb itself. The food provided during the expedition was absolutely delicious. Despite being in a remote and challenging environment, the meals were varied, nutritious, and prepared with great care. It was a pleasant surprise to enjoy such tasty meals even at high altitudes. Most importantly, we successfully summited Lobuche Peak without encountering any major issues. The entire team, including our guide, porter, and the support staff, ensured our safety and well-being throughout the ascent. They were attentive to any signs of altitude sickness and provided valuable guidance to ensure a successful summit. Overall, our experience with Summit Lobuche Peak and Nice Sherpa Expedition was nothing short of excellent. From the professionalism of the team to the delicious food and the successful summit, every aspect exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Nepal Peak Expeditions and their exceptional team for anyone looking to conquer Lobuche Peak or any other adventure in the Himalayas.
What our customers ask about Nepal Small Group Tours
What is the best season for small group trekking in Nepal?
The prime trekking seasons in Nepal fall during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). These months provide clear views of mountains like Everest Annapurna and Dhaulagiri with daytime temperatures that make walking comfortable. October stands out as an excellent choice for small groups with less foot traffic at teahouses along routes such as the Annapurna Circuit while maintaining ideal weather conditions.
What type of accommodation can I expect on a small group tour in Nepal?
Accommodations on Nepal's small group tours blend city comfort with mountain authenticity. You'll find 3-star hotels like Hotel Woodapple in urban centers such as Kathmandu and Pokhara. During treks the nights are spent in teahouses and lodges selected for their quality particularly in remote stops like Namche Bazaar and Ghorepani. Tour operators work to secure the best available rooms at each location.
What is the guide-to-client ratio on small group tours in Nepal?
Small group tours operate with one main guide plus an assistant for groups of 6 or more. The standard includes one porter for every two trekkers. Guides like Mindu Sherpa and Pasang Sherpa receive regular praise from travelers for their personal attention and skill in managing group dynamics while ensuring safety and comfort throughout the journey.
What is included in small group tour packages in Nepal?
Standard inclusions cover accommodations permits (TIMS and national park fees) guide services some meals and ground transportation. The Annapurna Circuit package provides three daily meals during the trek all lodging permits and an English-speaking guide. Optional add-ons include porter services at $18 per day or extra nights in Kathmandu for $50. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Everything essential was included making it easy to focus on enjoying the trek."
How much should I expect to pay for a small group trek in Nepal?
Daily costs for small group treks range from $90 to $365 based on route and comfort preferences. The 13-day Annapurna Circuit averages $92 per day while the more demanding Everest Base Camp trek runs about $267 daily. These rates typically cover teahouse stays meals permits and professional guides. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "The small group format offered great value since we could split costs of guides and porters while still enjoying personalized service."
How does transportation work for small group tours in Nepal?
Small groups travel in mini-vans or jeeps offering flexibility that larger buses can't match. The journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara allows for spontaneous stops at viewpoints or villages. For treks requiring flights such as those to Lukla for Everest region routes small groups adapt more easily to schedule changes and weather delays than larger tours.
