    Asked on May 15th, 2026

We are two women looking to see the Great Migration, the highlights of Tanzania, meeting some locals and enjoying some traditional food. I understand June/July is the best time to go for this, though I see we would only have one day in the Serengeti. Can you let me know what we can expect please? Would there be any nice walks/optional hiking opportunities?

    Tour Details
    Travel Support
    • Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)OperatorWritten May 2026

June/July is a great time to visit Tanzania as the Great Migration is usually active. Even with one day in Serengeti, you can still enjoy excellent wildlife viewing and experience Tanzania's highlights. You can also expect cultural experiences, meeting local communities, and tasting traditional foods. For walking opportunities, there are optional activities such as nature walks, village walks, and short hikes depending on the itinerary and location.
