The Ultimate Africa was really the adventure that I had anticipated. I think that overlanding really is the best way to see Africa and enjoy it's diversity whilst seeing how most African people live. Camping was an adventure that was at times tiring but being able to camp in National Parks and have elephants walking through your campsite more than made up for the physical element of the trip. I would thoroughly recommend this tour!Show more

Would it be possible to end my trip in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania? If so, which calendar date would that be and what would be the cost of the tour to that point?
We don't have a version of the tour that goes from Cape Town to Dar es Salaam, but we do have this 40 day shorter tour, which is the same, minus the last 15 days. Day 32 is when we leave Dar es Salaam, so you could jump off there but we wouldn't offer a reduced price for any missed services.

Why does this tour only allow people up to age 39?
We do get asked this a lot and unfortunately, we have to be really strict about it. If we were more lenient on this, we would be false advertising and may lead to customer dissatisfaction or miss-selling of our product. It is not our intention to exclude people, it is simply that we have a specific product which targets that age group and traveller type. To align with our 18 to 30 something campaign, it is necessary to have an upper age limit with no exceptions to keep our promise to our customers. Only 2 of our travel styles have age restrictions, all other travel styles are open to all ages: Classic, Active, Marine, National Geographic Journey's, Local Living.
Travelers must be aged 18-39 on the first day the tour starts to be able to book

Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.

Payment information
For any tour departing before September 20th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 20th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20%
is required to confirm your booking with G Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
Some departure dates and prices may vary and G Adventures will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
