Does this Masai Mara to Vic Falls 31 days have SOLO ONLY Private Accom? No sharing!

In regard to accommodations on tour I am afraid we cannot offer single rooms.. but if we have no other solo passengers in the group then you would have your own room at no additional charge.

I saw there're three options offered regarding the 31-day trip. I wonder what's the difference between the $5200, $6700, and the $7000+ ones? For example, the $6700 says it's accommodated but the brochure details mentioned a lot about camping. So is this also a camping trip? Then how is it different from the $5200 trip?

We only offer two options for the 31-day trip: Camping or Accommodated. While the accommodated option is mostly twin-bed rooms, some remote places do not offer any form of accommodation & clients will then have to camp for those few nights (specifically: 2 night bush camping at Serengeti/Ngorongoro (equipment supplied). For the camping nights we will provide you with equipment and the Tour Leader will set up your tent.

We are looking for more comfortable safari tour with proper accommodation(hotel), no camping. We are both 65+ years old is this tour suitable for us who are not physically very fit? How many guests on the jeep/truck while looking for wild lifes? Will the tour include visit to Victoria Falls? If yes, is there a chance to view the Victoria Falls by helicopter (additional cost is expected)?

Acacia operates group tours with a maximum of 16 passengers and 2 Acacia driver/ guides. Accommodations on tour are simple - clean and secure - we call it 'tourist class' standard. On this tour there are 2 nights spent camping (we provide camping equipment) , this is in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro area. When game driving in Masai Mara, the Serengeti , and the Ngorongoro Crater we use smaller vehicles which carry 6 or 8 passengers. At other times we are in the Acacia truck (max 16 clients). Clients vary in age between 20s and 60s . It is not a luxury tour and some areas have challenging conditions. The 11 August departure has limited availability (<4 seats) . We have other departures 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after, however.

Could you please provide more information regarding the following topics? age range, would it be possible for someone age 60 years old to join the tour? more information about the tour guide, accommodation, and transportation how large is the group? is there an option for a single tent or room? how is the bathroom, and showers? what would be the best time to visit? are meals included?

Age 60 is accepted, if the client understands the nature of Adventure Travel. Tours are young spirited and everyone participates in cooking, cleaning and setting up. The group can range from a minimum of 6 passengers, to a maximum of 24 passengers. Single supplements are not applicable on Adventure tours. Solo travellers will share a 2 man canvas tent (camping) or a twin-bed room (accommodated) with a fellow solo passenger of the same gender.

Every Acacia Overland tour has an Adventure Pass which is paid to your tour leader in Africa at the beginning of the tour (or pre-paid by arrangement prior to your tour). This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income.

Overpriced and false advertising about the age limit resulted in a poor overall experience. The tour itinerary and the leader/driver were excellent and would get 5 stars however Acacia advertise these tours as exclusively for people 18-39 and this simply wasn't the case. When we arrived half the tour group were elderly (well into their 60's and 70's) and that meant straight away the group was divided into the young and the old. This also meant that I was partnered with an old man in my accommodation who snored so loudly it was completely impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs. This meant I was left with no choice but to pay more money to upgrade my accommodation to a single room and this simply blew out the cost of this holiday. I paid approximately $1400 more for the accommodated version of this tour so i could ensure i got a decent night sleep, but then had to pay another $500 or so to upgrade during the tour for my own room. If I had been on the camping version of the trip to start with I would have likely saved close to $1000.Show more

Dear William, Thank you for your review of our 21-day Serengeti to Victoria Falls Adventure Accommodated Tour. We are always grateful for the feedback. I regret any misunderstanding about our tours, especially from someone who has travelled with us before. Adventure Tours are designed for those between 18 and 40 and most clients fall within that age group. However, this is a guideline, not a rule. Being young at heart and willing to cooperate with others and participate in group activities have always been more important and I believe our tour information reflects this. For example, the 2023 Pre-Departure Information which was shared with you together with other travel documents says this: Your Fellow Travellers: ‘Adventure Tours’ travellers come from all over the world and from all walks of life. As a guide the majority of clients will usually fall between the ages of 18 and 39, but this is not a strict limit. Minimum age 18.’ Your previous Acacia tour had one person over 40 in a group of 11 clients. This group had 12 clients from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam, seven were aged 18 – 39, and five over 40 (including one over 70 who was travelling with his son). From Dar to Vic Falls there were 15 clients: 10 were under 39, five over 40. Clearly the group had a wide age range but a majority under 40 nevertheless. I understand frustrations with not being able to get a good night’s sleep irrespective of the cause. Joining a group tour obviously entails some uncertainty as to who you share with and calls for compromise and understanding on all. However clearly an issue arose, and you were right to speak to your tour leader (Crispen). I respect the decision you made and am pleased Crispen was able to help, naturally there was a cost because group bookings were twin share. On a more positive note, thank you again for taking the time to give us your feedback and for what you say about the itinerary. Thank you also for your very positive ratings for Crispen and Harmony. Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 15th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 15th, 2026, a minimum payment of $300 is required to confirm your booking with Acacia Adventure Holidays. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 61 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Acacia Adventure Holidays will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Acacia Adventure Holidays" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
