Regarding the guide, we will confirm the final guide assignment closer to the departure date. All our Everest guides are experienced, licensed, and trained for high-altitude trekking. And yes, absolutely — since you are already in Nepal, you are very welcome to visit our office before the trek. We can meet personally, go through the trek details, check your equipment, and, if available, introduce you to the guide before departure.

I am 67 and would like to do this trip. I am fitter than most 50 year olds and a very experienced hiker. I have previously summitted Kilimanjaro. I hike regularly in Australia carrying all my own equipment, tent, food etc... for 6 day trips. Please let me know if you require a doctor's certificate as to my capacity to join your trip to Everest Base Camp.

It is great to hear about your trekking background and experience. Completing Mount Kilimanjaro and continuing regular multi-day hikes with full gear already shows strong endurance and preparation. Your level of fitness and experience is very well suited for the Everest Base Camp trek. We are happy to confirm that there is no issue at all with your age, and we would be glad to have you join the trip. Many of our trekkers in their 60s successfully complete this journey each season with proper pacing and acclimatization. Regarding the medical certificate, it is not mandatory. However, if you have any pre-existing conditions or would like additional reassurance, you may consult your doctor before the trek.

I'm looking to do a tour end of May into June and spending my birthday (10 June) on the trek. I was wondering if there was anyone booked on around my age already??

We have a confirmed group starting on 31st May, with the flight to Lukla scheduled for 1st June. You are very welcome to join this departure. At the moment, we already have two solo travelers confirmed for this trip, so you will be in good company with others joining individually as well.

The best time to plan this journey is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These months usually offer stable weather, clear skies, and excellent visibility of the Himalayan peaks. Our standard Everest Base Camp itinerary runs for 14 days, beginning with a flight to Lukla and gradually ascending through the Sherpa heartland. Key highlights include acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, visits to Tengboche Monastery, and the trek to Everest Base Camp itself at 5,364 meters. The journey also includes a climb to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters for breathtaking sunrise views of Everest and its neighboring giants.

Me, my dad and my sister are hoping to do the EBC trek for 13-26 August. I have a few questions if that is OK! 1. Will the tour be actually operating for 13-26 August, as I have seen some conflicting information online! 2. However, there were a couple of points that made our trip not as good as it should have been: -The assistant guide was a bit of a pain most of the time. He did not speak English, so the communication was non-existent. He seemed to think his role was to stop us when we were walking faster than his perceived opinion. He was like a moving hurdle in front of us most of the time. Local customs like non-stop spitting (each with a thorough and loud throat-clearing) did not help to the experience. -Secondly, on the way back, there was a problem with the flights back from Lukla to Kathmandu. Bad weather meant delays and one day waiting in Lukla. We were told that it would be impossible to get on a plane the following day, because of the backlog, and had to pay 450$ extra each to come back by helicopter. However, some other groups didn’t have any problem with the planes and the flights back. Maybe there wasn’t enough space for all stranded people, but we didn’t receive good communicationShow more

I couldn’t recommend Nepal Hiking team more highly. I was a solo female traveller, and it could not have been a better trip. From the initial booking process the team have been exceptional in their communication and this continued throughout the entire trek. Once arriving in Kathmandu, you are welcomed by a friendly team and the WoodApple hotel was a fantastic place to find your feet in a good location in Kathmandu that’s not too far away from Thamal to ensure you can buy any last minute gear you may need, the food in the rooftop restaurant was excellent and the views of Kathmandu are fantastic. Our Guides Dhurba and Indra were amazing and really helped to ensure this was a trip of a lifetime. The knowledge they have about the Himalayas ensured no question went unanswered and they set a perfect pace for the group to make sure we all reached base camp but also really enjoyed the entire experience with plenty of laughs along the way.   How many joined up for the 19th already?
  
  That would be great, I didn't bring everything that is needed for the trek. I have hiking boots, my hiking backpack (it has 60l so it's not a day pack, I don't know if that's a problem), daune jacket, fleece jacket, rain jacket and basic hiking clothes but I didn't bring a sleeping bag or hiking sticks. Is it possible to rent that?
  
  And what happens if the flight to Lukla is not possible due to the weather? Will there be any additional costs than?

  We already have 7 trekkers confirmed for the 19th October departure, so you and your friend would be joining a nice group.
  
  Regarding the equipment, no problem at all. We provide a warm sleeping bag and down jacket for the trek at no additional cost. Hiking poles can also be rented in Kathmandu for around USD 5–10 per pair, or you can easily purchase a good basic pair in Thamel.
  
  Your 60-litre backpack is not a problem. However, during the trek, we normally provide a duffel bag for the porter to carry, while you carry a smaller daypack with your water, jacket, camera, snacks, and personal essentials. If you do not have a smaller daypack, we can help you arrange one in Kathmandu before departure.
  
  Regarding the Lukla flight, weather delays are always possible in the Everest region. If the flight is delayed or cancelled, we will assist with rebooking the next available flight and manage the situation with the group.
  
  There is normally no additional charge simply for rebooking the regular flight. However, if an extra hotel night or other personal expenses are required because of a long weather delay, those costs would be additional. If you decide to use a helicopter instead of waiting for the regular flight, the helicopter upgrade would also involve an additional cost.
  
  We always recommend keeping some flexibility around the Lukla flights, and our team will assist you throughout if there are any weather-related changes.

I am 67 and would like to do this trip. I am fitter than most 50 year olds and a very experienced hiker. I have previously summitted Kilimanjaro. I hike regularly in Australia carrying all my own equipment, tent, food etc... for 6 day trips. Please let me know if you require a doctor's certificate as to my capacity to join your trip to Everest Base Camp.

  The best time to plan this journey is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). These months usually offer stable weather, clear skies, and excellent visibility of the Himalayan peaks. Our standard Everest Base Camp itinerary runs for 14 days, beginning with a flight to Lukla and gradually ascending through the Sherpa heartland. Key highlights include acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, visits to Tengboche Monastery, and the trek to Everest Base Camp itself at 5,364 meters. The journey also includes a climb to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters for breathtaking sunrise views of Everest and its neighboring giants.
