  A wonderful tour. The tour description is precise, and we actually went through like that. Like the most tours, you'll probably need to ask something to them, but they were responsible almost all the time, which was helpful. Accommodations are very satisfiable. Of course, they're not like 5 star hotel, but are high quality given the places we visit. I liked especially 2nd to 5th nights. As others mentioned, we need to spend lots of time driving without music, but I feel that was inevitable to visit across the country. Still, what I was amazed the most was the guide. Gideon, our guide, prepared pretty meals every time, explained well about everything, spotted animals quickly in the safari, drove with safety, and clean the bus every day.   First of all, this tour went over and above what is described in the brochure. We saw all the places that we were scheduled to visit with ample time to enjoy them. We were not rushed and were able not only to take pictures but to really admire them. The accommodations are all excellent, more than my expectations. While not luxurious, they’re all in excellent locations, are very nice and comfortable, with all the necessities. Lastly, we had an excellent guide in Daniel. He always briefed us on the day’s activities before safely driving us from place to place. He was always there to explain to us the attractions, the history, the flora and fauna, even the stars in the southern hemisphere! While doing all the driving, he was still able to provide us with sumptuous meals. I was just expecting cereals in the morning, but we had boiled eggs, fruits, breads and sausages. After a tiring day, he would go straight to prepare our dinner. One time, he even cooked a very tasty chicken stew! Daniel has an excellent personality and capability as a travel guide. If I were his employer, I’d give him a raise!Show more

  No major problems. Room and board and of course the wildlife seen were VG+. Hot showers, comfortable beds, pool/bar, some even had a safe and patio/verandah. Gained a couple pounds and saw tons of rhino, zebra, wildebeast, oryx. Minor problems: 1. Poor communication - I brought cash only and had been promised a bank stop the morning of departure but our guide refused. I did not buy supplies (water, shaving cream, etc) at the store (Otjowarango Superspar?) or partake in some of the activities (the meals that were not provided and the dune ATV ride) I wanted to. Fortunately mosquito count was low and tap water potable (2 locations did not taste great). 2. Vehicle AC didn't work, just dropped condensation on our heads. No music played entire trip, driver was in separate cabin so did not hear most requests. 3. Other than one day at dunes, no real exercise, and lots of driving.Show more

Please kindly be advised that on the pre-departure information provided for, it is stated that we will not play music during the safari as it is difficult to select/choose a genre that can accommodate everyone in a vehicle. In addition to this, Namibia is a very big country and long distance drives are required in order for us to cover a larger part of the country. Above all, we wish you more years of good travel :-)

  The tour was amazing, far exceeding my expectations. Although distances were great so a lot of time was spent travelling, we saw so much. The accommodation was of a very high standard and the activities were well organised. Highest praise to our tireless guide/driver/mechanic/cook Tinashe who was always smiling and providing an endless stream of interesting information in an engaging way. The 6 Day tour is exceptional value for money and I can highly recommend it. The organisation by Chameleon was perfect throughout.Show more

  this is a well organized tour and namibia is a beautiful country. our tour guide and daniel (for the first 3 days) made the whole trip even better! I learned a lot about animals, history, everything! the locations visited in just 6 days are amazing of course it comes with a lot of sitting in the car because it is a big country. be prepared for the car time but it is totally worth it. i will come back and spend even more time!Show more

  Overall, this tour far exceeded my expectations. For the price I was expecting something just slightly better than your typical backpacker tour; with mediocre accommodation, irritating and smarmy tour guides who think they are brilliant and think their unwanted racially motivated sacrcasm is actually funny. I'm speaking here from unpleasant tour experiences that I've had in Australia many years ago! This tour however was way different. The guide was excellent and very informative. The vehicle was very comfortable and the accommodation was of a very high standard. The comfort level in the accommodation was excellent and just what you needed after a long day on the road. All accommodation except the hotel in Swakopmund had air conditioned rooms. Overall, I'd recommend Chameleon to anyone considering an escorted tour in Namibia.Show more
