We were looking for a Safari organized tour in Tanzania (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, lac Manyara, etc.......) with National Geographic as we had prior great experience with them. National Geographic did not provide tours but had a contract with G Adventures, a company based in Toronto, Canada, which promoted tours under National Geographic name. The experience was not as good. The staff, guide and driver were great and the safari superb but accommodations were very basic and food disappointing. One of the lodge was way outside the area to visit which required additional 50 km (round trip) of very bumpy and dusty trails. It also required to wake up very earlier to catch the morning activity of the wildlife. The choice of hotel in Arusha, Ilboro lodge, departing and arrival accommodation for the group, was a poor choice, quite basic rooms, average food and remote from the center. Moreover, access to the hotel was difficult with the last half a km, a bumpy and dusty trail in a not very safe neighborhood. We felt trapped. For a couple of hundreds $ more, the African Tulip, were we stayed at the end of the Safari would have made the experience so much more enjoyable. Show more

Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 14th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 14th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with G Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and G Adventures will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "G Adventures" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
