I cannot swim. Would snorkeling be possible or are there other alternatives to these sessions? Any other notes for non swimmers? Life jackets are provided at all times?

Cusco & Machu Picchu: Mild days, cold nights. Galápagos: Cool and mild, not too humid

      TravelerWritten March 2025

I am trying to confirm dates and logistics for everything. Just curious about the snorkeling piece. I know some areas you can snorkel as a non-swimmer, but others are open water and not recommended so I would just like to know options or if possible before booking.

    • Intrepid TravelOperatorWritten March 2025

You can snorkel on multiple days throughout different islands, looking out for sea turtles and the harmless Galápagos shark. Currents can be quite strong, so to participate in snorkeling activities confident swimming skills are required and alternative activities will not be available.

They could not provide the exact dimensions of the boat, but they clarified that it is a small speed boat with a maximum capacity of 20 people. The maximum group size for the tour is 16, so there won't be more than 16 passengers on the boat.
