    On this tour, you'll be visiting eight countries, which means you'll encounter several different currencies. While most places accept credit cards, it's still useful to carry some local cash for smaller purchases.
    
    Euros (EUR) will cover Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany, and Slovakia so this is the most widely used currency on the trip. Local currencies (HUF, PLN, CZK) are best for Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic. ATMs are widely available, and withdrawing small amounts locally often gives better rates than exchanging cash beforehand. Credit/debit cards are accepted in most restaurants, hotels, and shops, but cash is handy for markets, small cafés, and tips.
    
    Single rooms are available on certain departure dates without needing to request them. Most hotels provide laundry services, and laundromats can be found in some cities. However, it's advisable to pack enough clothing to minimize laundry needs, as services can be costly or inconvenient during the tour.
    
    Regarding visas, most travelers will require a Schengen visa, which covers all countries on this itinerary (Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, and Germany). One visa is sufficient for the entire trip. This will depend on your nationality.
    
    If you prefer, you may skip the Auschwitz visit and use that time at your leisure. Please ensure you inform your Travel Director and confirm the group's schedule to know when they will return to the hotel.
    
    Meals are included only for breakfasts and selected dinners. No vouchers will be provided for other meals, but you can purchase them independently. Your Travel Director will be happy to suggest restaurants you might enjoy.

    Since you'll be traveling as a group of three adults, we recommend booking one twin room and one single room. Triple rooms are generally designed for two adults and one child and may feel too small for three adults as they often include one double bed and one foldaway bed, with limited space for luggage.

    The single room for the 12‑Jun‑2026 departure is already sold out. However, we do have availability for a definite departure on 05‑Jun‑2026, with the single room priced at $5,990.00. Optional experiences can be purchased directly from your Travel Director during the trip, using either cash or credit card.

    A up charge of over $100 dollars a night seems excessive amount for a single room. I know of very few hotels that charge double for a single room compared to room for 2. I can only guess you are charge me for the cost of 2 quest in a room and not the fee the hotel charges for a single room.

  Is it possible to come in one day early Oct. 09,2025 and the additional cost and the transport from airport is it available and is Trafalgar the tour company responsible for the Highlights of Eastern Europe tour Vienna to Vienna and will there be 3 beds for three adults travelling together. Also can we pay separately and still be considered as three adults travelling together.

  How do we get from city to city - is it by train or coach? And how does our luggage get transferred. Typically, how much walking is there per day? Are the tours mainly walking tours and how long are they? How many meals are included? Airfare to/from Toronto is extra, right?

    This tour will be using a coach bus to get to cities. Your luggage's will be stored in the bus compartment and your carry on will be at the small overhead compartment. Typically, feature up to 1.6-4.8 km of walking per day and might involve some uneven surfaces, such as cobblestones and stairs. Your sightseeing style is mostly to/from transport with occasional walking. This includes 16 Breakfasts, 1 Welcome Reception, and 7 Dinners. Yes, you will have to book your international airfare separately.
