Well this trip was awesome for my son and I he had his 14 birthday on this 48 day trip overland tour it wasn't a vacation it was an adventure setting up a tent in the dark early starts so you can make ground like 330am but usually up before 5am also if your not into helping with the dishes or flapping of the dishes don't sign up it was the best trip I've done awesome driver Dan kept us safe and never a bad meal not even once cause of Mike the cook we had a great tour leader Stanley aka mambo the best well knowable and always with a smile the acomidations were great Show more

We are looking for a 2 week safari that includes the Okavango river delta and Botswana. We are in our mid 60's and want decent sleeping and bathroom accommodations. Our entire vacation will be about 8 weeks. We are also looking for information on the east coast beach areas to visit.

Could you kindly provide information on accommodation type, rooming for solo travelers, and driving time between destinations?
This trip includes a mix of camping and simple stays: 36 nights camping with facilities, 2 nights with basic facilities, 1 night wild camping, 3 nights in hotels, 3 in cabins, and 2 in bungalows. For solo travellers, you can choose to share with another traveller of the same gender at no extra cost, or purchase a single supplement. Travel is by overland truck, safari vehicles, ferries, mokoros, and minibuses.

Is 30kg luggage with a 36 gallon backpack allowed on the trip?
The overland truck has ample storage space with 22 individual lockers inside the truck and a few secure external lockers. There will be plenty of opportunities to do laundry along the way, which can help you pack lighter if needed.

Is this correct? Mainly camping for the entire trip.
Accommodation on this trip is mainly in two-person canvas dome tents with camping mattresses supplied. Campsites do have facilities but they usually aren't to the same standard you would find in western countries. For example the bathroom facilities can be very basic. There is rarely toilet paper provided and shower facilities can be as simple as a hose pipe spurting out cold water. Wild camps have no facilities at all.

Could you tell me what camping accessories you would provide and what i need to prepare if I attend it? Like camps and sleep bags. Also, if I travelled alone and do I need to share room/camp with other if I pay the additional fee.
You will need to bring a sleeping bag; it's also available for hire (if pre-booked). A single supplement is available from an extra $725 if you'd prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Days 33 (Camping) and Days 40,41,42 (Chalet), where you will be in shared accommodation and is subject to availability.

Payment information
For any tour departing before October 3rd, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 3rd, 2026, a minimum payment of $400
is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
Some departure dates and prices may vary and Intrepid Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
