Victoria Falls
You'll arrive in Victoria Falls and head to the campground for a 4 pm welcome meeting with your tour leader and group. After that wraps up, pop over to a local activity centre to check out what options are available for tomorrow's activities.

- Day 2
Victoria Falls
Today's free, so you can explore Victoria Falls on your own schedule. The waterfall stretches 1.5 km wide with a 108 m drop into the gorge. During wet season the spray shoots up 400 m high, but in dry season you'll get clear views of the river islets. Your leader can point you toward the best spots and what to do.

Landmarks Victoria Falls - Day 3
Victoria Falls to Bulawayo
You'll leave Victoria Falls and drive toward Bulawayo, stopping at the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust along the way. There you'll learn about wildlife rescue and anti-poaching work, and possibly see rescued or orphaned animals. Later you'll reach Bulawayo, known as the 'City of Kings' for its colonial history and interesting architecture.

Landmarks Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust - Day 4
Matobo National Park
Get up early and head out on a foot-tracking adventure in Matobo National Park hunting for black and white rhinos. Your expert guide leads the way, pointing out leopards, warthogs, springhares and local plants. You'll also see San rock paintings and the unusual rock formations. The area has deep spiritual importance with ceremonial sites still actively used by locals.

- Day 5
Matobo to Masvingo
Drive to Masvingo, Zimbabwe's oldest settlement, which serves as a base for the Great Zimbabwe Ruins. You'll spend a few hours at this UNESCO site that was first built in the 11th century as the former royal palace. After exploring, head back to camp for the evening.

Masvingo to Harare
Travel to Harare and arrive by lunchtime. You've got an hour or two to explore the capital if you want to get out and walk around. The National Gallery, museum and botanical gardens are worth checking out, or just wander through the city centre and browse the colourful markets.

Landmarks Harare - Day 7
Harare to Lusaka
Cross into Zambia and head toward Lusaka. The drive takes you through scenic countryside to the border, then onward to your campsite outside the capital. During the journey you'll stop at an ATM and shop or market to stock up on supplies.

Lusaka to Petauke
Spend time exploring Lusaka, a modern city that keeps a traditional African feel. After you're done looking around, it's a long day of travel to Petauke where you'll sleep for the night.

Landmarks Lusaka - Day 9
Petauke to South Luangwa National Park
After breakfast, visit a workshop in South Luangwa where local craftswomen turn recovered snare wire into African bush-inspired jewellery. They'll show you around and let you try coiling or hammering wire yourself, with donations from sales funding anti-snare patrols. Then head into South Luangwa National Park, home to one of Africa's highest concentrations of animals, with elephants, buffaloes, leopards, Thornicroft's giraffes, lions and around 400 bird species.

- Day 10
South Luangwa National Park
Wake early, grab a light breakfast and head out on a morning game drive in a 4WD with a local guide. Come back to camp for an early lunch, then rest during the hottest hours or take an optional village walk to see how locals live. Later, go back into the park for an evening game drive.

- Day 11
South Luangwa to Lake Malawi
Cross into Malawi and continue to camp on Lake Malawi's shores. The lake covers almost a fifth of the country and supports fishermen, traders and canoe makers. You'll see traditional bwatos (dugout canoes) on the water at dawn. Your campsite at Kande Beach sits right on the shoreline, so take time to settle in and relax.

Lake Malawi
It's a free day on the sandy shores of Lake Malawi. Jump in for a swim to cool off or rent a bike to explore the area if you'd rather stay active. The lake's high alkalinity supports brightly coloured fish and offers a tropical ocean-like snorkelling experience right in the freshwater lake.

Landmarks Lake Malawi - Day 13
Lake Malawi to Chitimba
Drive to Chitimba camp along the Lake Malawi coast, known for nice beaches, friendly people and a relaxed vibe. When you arrive, take a walk around to get the feel of this part of the lake. Banana palms and papaya trees line the shore, with the Livingstonia and Nyika mountains in the distance.

Landmarks Lake Malawi - Day 14
Chitimba to Tanzania Southern Highlands
This is a long travel day into Tanzania's southern highlands. Just sit back and watch the landscape change as you drive. You'll set up camp on a farmhouse's grounds on the settlement's edge. The area has natural bushland which makes it great for bird watching. Stick around after dark for stargazing.

Southern Highlands to Mikumi National Park
Head to Mikumi National Park's edge, nestled at the foot of the thickly wooded Uluguru Mountains. This is Tanzania's fourth-largest park and sees fewer tourists but plenty of wildlife like elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, wildebeest and impalas. In the afternoon, go on a 4WD game drive with a local guide.

- Day 16
Mikumi to Kipepo Beach
Take a scenic drive to Kipepo Beach just south of Dar es Salaam. Once there, take time to unwind with a walk along the shore. Your camp sits on a hotel's grounds right by the beach, perfect for relaxing and taking a cool dip in the Indian Ocean.

Landmarks Kipepo Beach - Day 17
Kipepo Beach to Zanzibar
Catch a ferry to Zanzibar, Africa's 'Spice Island'. The island has white-sand shores, winding cobblestone streets and fragrant bazaars. It's got a colourful past with slave traders, Arabian sultans and fruit exporters. Traditional dhows sail along the coast just like in Livingstone's time. Walking through Stone Town is the best way to see the old city. When evening comes, grab a drink at a bar overlooking the water before heading to a local restaurant for seafood curry. Your trip ends here in Stone Town.
