Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll land in Kenya and head to your hotel for mid-afternoon check-in. This gives you time to settle in, freshen up, and get ready for the safari adventure starting tomorrow.
- Day 2
Nairobi
Start at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi to learn about elephant conservation and see the orphaned calves they care for. After that, visit the Karen Blixen Museum where you can read about the author's African experiences and grab lunch at their restaurant. Later in the afternoon, head to the Giraffe Center to feed the endangered Rothschild's giraffes before the day ends.

Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve
You'll fly to Maasai Mara and have lunch once you arrive. Then it's time for your first game drive searching for the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo). Your visit here supports wildlife conservation work focused on helping Africa's lion population recover.

- Day 4
Maasai Mara National Reserve
Spend the full day exploring the Mara on morning and afternoon game drives with your driver/guide. This region is a key part of the Serengeti ecosystem and has permanent wildlife year-round, plus nearly 2 million more animals during the Great Migration. You'll see lions, leopards, hyenas, and countless other animals. Between drives, relax by the pool at your lodge.

Maasai Mara to Amboseli National Park
A short flight takes you back to Nairobi, then you drive to Amboseli National Park. Once there, you'll head out on a game drive to see Mount Kilimanjaro and its surroundings. You'll arrive at your lodge with time to clean up before dinner.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli to Lake Manyara
Cross the border into Tanzania at Namanga this morning. After lunch in Arusha, you'll drive to Lake Manyara National Park for the evening.

Lake Manyara National Park to Ngorongoro
Head out on a morning game drive through Lake Manyara National Park to spot baboons (the largest concentration anywhere), giraffes, hippos, and other wildlife in this diverse landscape of groundwater forests and plains. Afterward, drive to your lodge on the slopes of Ngorongoro Crater. If interested, there's an optional visit to a local primary school to meet children and see how rural Tanzania approaches education.

- Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater
You'll spend the entire day in Ngorongoro Crater on a game drive. This is the world's largest unflooded caldera, over 2,000 feet deep with more than 102 square miles on the floor. Most animals stay year-round here, making it excellent for viewing lions, elephants, flamingos, and the rare black rhinoceros. Lunch will be served in a picnic setting right in the crater.

Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti to Stone Town, Zanzibar
One final game drive happens before you fly to Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, via Arusha. You'll transfer to your oceanfront resort for a 3-night stay where your room looks out over the Indian Ocean.

- Day 13
Stone Town, Zanzibar
Take a guided walking tour through Stone Town to see the Old Fort, National Palace, and House of Wonders. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll visit a nearby spice plantation to learn about Zanzibar's spice heritage by seeing, smelling, and tasting fresh spices. Return to your resort for a relaxed evening and dinner.
