    Teresa

    Asked on April 9th, 2026

We have a traveller interested in exploring Uluru. He is in his early 80s and prefers light physical activities. We understand Kings Canyon involves strenuous hiking. Could you please advise if there's an alternative activity he can participate in or a place at camp where he can relax?

    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten April 2026

A minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. The length of walks will be between 2km to 6km each day, often over steep rocky sections and in direct sunlight and high humidity. An approximate 12-15km walk is included in this tour. Embarking on walks will be at the guide's discretion to ensure the safety of guests. Therefore a medium/high level of fitness is required and a doctor's certificate is required for people over 70 years (30 days prior to travel). Unfortunately, there won't be an alternate activity or a place to wait at camp since we stay at different camps each night.

    Asked on September 21st, 2025

I am looking to travel with my husband and two daughters (13 and 15 yrs old) in July 2026 to Australia. We'd like to go to Uluru and Alice Springs with an organisation, though we'd keep it low budget. Can you keep me posted when your packages for Uluru & Alice Spring become available for around July 22 or 23?

Our Red Centre tours are all available for next year. We have a tour set to depart on both the 22nd and 23rd of July. If you book the 22nd of July you can do a 2 day, 3 day or 4 day red centre tour. The 23rd is just a 2 day or 3 day tour.

You can definitely hire a sleeping bag from us for $40. We do pickup from the Mercure Resort Alice Springs. We can roughly confirm if the tour is operating a month before it is set to depart.

We do not have a private room fare type. We either have the bush swag or the Safari tent fare types. In the Safari Tents, we don't have a solo tent option. For the solo travellers who is booking the Safari Tent fare type, we pair them with another solo traveller of the same gender. Also, there is a chance that there may be enough Safari tents on certain departures. You can check with your guide on the day to see if you can have a Safari tent by yourself, but this is not something we can guarantee 100%.

  • S

    Stephanie

    Asked on June 25th, 2025

I am travelling from Canada and visiting several countries including Australia. I am interested in the tour although I do have a medium/large suitcase I am travelling with. Do you have any recommendations on where I can secure my luggage while participating in the tour? Any support and recommendations is sincerely appreciated, thank you!

    Transport
    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten June 2025

We usually recommend bringing a maximum of 15kg, but there is a little flexibility depending on how full the departure is. Ideally, you'll want to bring a larger bag that can be stored in the trailer during the day, along with a smaller day bag for anything you'll need access to while on the bus or during the activities. If you're starting and finishing in the same location, I'd also suggest contacting your accommodation provider to see if they're able to store your extra luggage while you're on the tour.

    Asked on September 25th, 2024

Would a fitness certificate from his doctor be sufficient?

    Age Range
    Tour Details
    • Autopia ToursOperatorWritten September 2024

All guests over 70 years old traveling on our extended tours are required to present a medical certificate. It simply needs to be a statement from a medical professional that the guests are healthy and fit to travel, and able to complete the walks included in the itinerary. Depending on the tour, guests may be required to navigate unstable terrain or endure extreme weather conditions. Safety is paramount on our tours, and the certificates are important to ensuring all passengers are taken care of.
