If you'd like to opt out halfway our tour leaders will do their best to accommodate you, sometimes you may have to turnaround on your own and wait for for the group at the trailhead while they finish their hike. I'd recommend bringing any concerns to your trip leader during the Welcome Meeting on Day 1 and they can help with maybe an alternate easier route for you to do while the rest of the group carries on. But in short, yes the hikes are generally quite flexible.

Would also like to see kings canyon and sequoia and wondering if anything could be tagged on to this tour or any recommendations.

This trip includes a hike at the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias but Kings canyon is not inluded on the trip itinerary. if you wish to visit this, you will have to make your own arrangements.

The tour description failed to accurately describe the hiking--- not "walking" as in the tour title. The Mist trail hike is listed in Yosemite Valley as strenuous, which it is to the extreme. There should have been an option to not continue the climb to the second waterfall, which added over 2 hours to the hike. The van used for the group of 11 was an economy level van-- no place to put anything (no netting behind seats) and small seats--- very uncomfortable for many hours of driving every day. Also, even though all participants were required to show proof of vaccine, we were mandated to wear masks at all times in the van. Seems like Intrepid (an Australian company) placed Australian rules on a private rental van in CA, which does not mandate private transportation. Intrepid sent an email the day before the trip saying the tour begins and ends at a different hotel than first advised by Tour Radar. This was very unprofessional. The single supplement of $790 was far more than the extra cost of the hotel nights. The one included dinner and breakfasts would have been for two on double occupancy so there was no consideration of savings there for one person. The tour was overpriced with very little included. I would definitely never recommend Intrepid.Show more
