Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro to Arusha
Your adventure kicks off when you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. You'll be met and driven to your hotel in Arusha, which takes a couple of hours depending on traffic. Once you settle in, you've got some free time. If your flight arrives early enough, the town of Arusha is worth a quick walk around to get oriented before things get going tomorrow.

Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you'll drive about 2.5 hours on good roads heading to Tarangire National Park. The landscape starts changing as you go, and once you arrive, the game drives begin. You'll spot elephant herds (they're everywhere here), plus giraffes, zebras, and if you're lucky, lions and leopards. The park has over 500 bird species too, so bring binoculars. Around midday you'll stop for a picnic lunch in the park, then drive to Karatu where you'll stay the night.

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you head into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The main event is descending 600 meters down to the crater floor, where you'll spend the day spotting wildlife in this contained ecosystem. Wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles are common, and you might see buffaloes, hippos, and hyenas. The rare black rhinos are harder to spot but worth watching for. You'll have a picnic lunch right there on the crater floor before heading back up to your lodge in Karatu for the evening.

Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you'll travel to Lake Manyara National Park, which sits at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Game drives here are focused on finding tree-climbing lions (a specialty of this park) and watching the thousands of flamingos that gather on the lake. Over 500 bird species live here too. You'll have one final picnic lunch in the park, and then your guide drives you back to Arusha or straight to the airport depending on your onward travel plans.
