Okavango Delta to Makgadikgadi Pans
Your safari kicks off with a 192 km drive through the Kalahari Desert in a game viewer vehicle with a professional guide. You'll travel on tarred roads heading toward Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, one of the world's largest salt flats. The drive gives you a good sense of the landscape and wildlife as you make your way there.

Makgadikgadi Pans
This day is all about game drives inside Makgadikgadi Pans from morning through afternoon. You'll search for lions, elephants, zebras, jackals, antelopes, and meerkats along with various bird species. The observation towers let you scan across the entire park, and your guide will use his connections with other safari drivers to track down animals you might otherwise miss.

Makgadikgadi Pans to Maun
An early morning game drive happens before you head back to Maun. You'll arrive in the afternoon and get transferred to your hotel or lodge. The overnight stay gives you time to rest up before heading to the Okavango Delta the next day.

Landmarks Makgadikgadi Pans National Park - Day 4
Maun to Okavango Delta
After breakfast, you'll depart early and head to the Okavango Delta UNESCO Heritage Site. There you'll meet a local mokoro guide and paddle out to the island camping grounds for lunch and a siesta. Late in the afternoon, a walking safari takes you out where you might see zebras, elephants, red lechwe, blue wildebeest, and birds.

- Day 5
Okavango Delta
Wake up early for a 2-hour walking safari across the delta islands, giving you an up-close bush experience. Back at camp, you'll have lunch and rest during the heat of the day. The afternoon brings canoeing through the delta channels to see birds and trees from the water. Dinner at camp is followed by time under the stars with storytelling.
