I am looking at the All About Balkans tour and it says ages up to 59. We are 72 but active and just completed an active trip to the Galapagos. Would we be able to consider this tour? Why does it say up to age 59?

You are absolutely welcome to join the tour. The age guideline (up to 59) is mainly in place to reflect the general travel style and group demographic. However, as long as you are comfortable with the itinerary and activity level, you are both very welcome to participate.

Would it also be possible to join as a family? We would be 2 adults and 2 kids 5 and 7 years old. If no family rooms are available we could also split up, always 1 adult with 1 child in a room.

Unfortunately, our tours have a minimum age requirement of 18 years, so we are unable to accommodate children on this trip.

How much will you charge for extra day of pre tour accommodation for April 10 in Sofia and 1 day extra post tour accommodation in Athens?

We do not arrange for pre- or post-tour accommodation directly. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive your hotel details, and you can then contact the hotel directly to arrange any additional nights before or after your tour.

How many people are on this trip currently? is it mostly people traveling in pairs? Additionally, what is the additional cost for a private room?

There are currently 20 passengers booked for March 28th. The group is a mix of friends travelling in pairs, solo travellers and couples. Private rooms are not available on the majority of our tours unfortunately, our tours operate on a shared room basis.

Can you please confirm how many people are confirmed on this departure and if its definitely guaranteed to depart.

By default, our tours are fully confirmed for departure within 60 days of the departure date, as passengers may request date/destination changes until 60 days before the tour. However, there are currently 40 passengers booked for this tour and the departure is very likely to proceed as a full group. The exact group size will be confirmed within 60 days of the departure date.

I would like to know if your age range is flexible. This tour "All about the Balkans" has an age range of 18-60. I am 65 but usually travel with younger travel partners.

The advertised age range is designed for solo travellers, as our tours typically offer shared accommodations. However, if you are travelling with a companion, we would be delighted to welcome you to join the tour in a twin or double room.

I am 70yrs of age and my wife is 66 yrs old. We are physically fit. Can we come for this tour? The page says till 55 yrs only?

Well...I never knew how beautiful the Balkans are, the scenery, the food, the people wow! We had the most excellent guide in Simon who is very passionate about his job and brings it alive throughout the tour. His experience and knowledge is tremendous, nothing is too much trouble, if you need anything he's there. Deki our fabulous driver who got us around safely and drove long hours for us all, just a fabulous and friendly guy. The rapport between both Simon and Deki was tremendous, you could hear the respect between the both of them, I was the cryer of the group and was so sad to say goodbye.   As a solo traveler it is much more interesting for me to be engaging in conversation with people who are NOT seniors. I have traveled and shared rooms with individuals twenty years younger or more.

- Hepatitis B - Recommended for Albania.Bosnia.Bulgaria.Croatia.Greece.Macedonia.Serbia.Montenegro. Ideally 2 months before travel.
- Yellow fever - Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from an infected area for Albania. Ideally 10 days before travel.
- Tick-borne encephalitis - Recommended for Albania.Croatia. Ideally 6 months before travel.
- Tuberculosis - Recommended for Bosnia.Bulgaria. Ideally 3 months before travel.
Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before August 24th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after August 24th, 2026, a minimum payment of $150 is required to confirm your booking with Travel Talk. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Travel Talk will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Travel Talk" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
