Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there a luggage limit and a place to store the luggage?
Alike most airlines, Arctic Adventures has a strict 20kg luggage limit. Each participant is allowed to bring a small backpack and one piece of luggage weighing a maximum of 20kg (44 lbs). In regards to storage, Arctic Adventures can store your luggage for you while you are on your tour, for a small fee.
- When and where does the tour end?
On the last day of the tour after doing the Glacier Hike, you will return to Reykjavík between 20:00 and 23:00 depending on weather conditions and the tour will end.
- When and where does the tour start?
Pick up starts at 09:00 AM, and you will be picked up from your hotel or a nearby meeting point in Reykjavík. This will be confirmed once you have a confirmed booking.
- Can you assist with additional accommodation?
Unfortunately, Arctic Adventures do not book accommodation outside of their tours. Therefore pre and post accommodation will need to be booked independently.
- What is the age range of the passengers?
The passenger's ages on the tour range from a minimum of 8 years to 75+ years old.
- Are flights included?
Flights before and after the tour are not included in the tour price and you need to arrange these separately by yourself once your tour is guaranteed. As we specialise in organising the best tours around the world for you, we are unable to advise on flight prices or book flights on your behalf. If you have not already booked your flights we recommend checking out the following link which is powered by Skyscanner - https://flights.tourradar.com
- Do I need a visa?
As a tour booking website, TourRadar cannot organise visas for you on your behalf as the visa requirements are regularly being updated and vary for the nationality of one traveller to the next. It is for this reason that we recommend checking with your local embassy or consulate website for the latest up to date information.
- Will the ice cave exploring also be available throughout the all year?
Unfortunately, Arctic Adventures cannot guarantee that you will be able to access an ice cave as the access is completely weather dependent. On the day their team in Skaftafell will be visiting the cave early that morning to determine if it is safe enough for you to enjoy the experience.
- Is it possible to rent equipment?
There is a rentals service offered for hiking boots, waterproof jacket and waterproof pants. Please contact us for more details once your booking is confirmed.
- Is there a hotel list available?
Generally, the hotels you will stay at on the tour are Hotel Dyrholaey and Hotel Skaftafell. Please note the hotels are subject to change until your booking is finalised, however Arctic Adventures will always use 3-star hotels with private bathrooms
