Our Guide Hjalti was the best Guide we could dream off! We couldn‘t do the whale watching necause of the bad weather but he thought about a backup plan to enjoy the day at a museum.
Really a beautiful experience that I absolutly can recommend! I even more fell in love with Iceland! Thank you Hjalti for making this Tour the best of our lifetime!

Our tour was planned meticulously and covered most aspects of what one would want to experience in Iceland. Our guide Hjalti, was truly amazing and his knowledge of places and the terrain was outstanding. His energy on hikes and showing us all the sites was remarkable. He went out of his way, to show us the northern lights and some rare places from his own knowledge. On the last day, we got another guide, Pigky, who was knowledgeable and witty. Sometimes, during adverse weather conditions, their driving skills were quite remarkable as well. Would definitely recommend this tour by Arctic Adventures to all those who wish to visit Iceland.

Carl merits 5 stars. We expected the accommodations to be rustic, and they were, a bit more than expected. Space in rooms was sparse and clumsily arranged - one bathroom had the toilet paper dispenser so badly placed it made sitting on the toilet awkward. As 4 of 5 hotels we used were owned by Arctic Adventures, so they should be more aware of the comfort of the hotels.) I’d give 2 stars at best to the accommodations. The trip was well planed and the sites memorable - 4 1/2 stars.
This tour was more than I could have hoped for. Although the northern lights weren’t their most vibrant, this tour had beautiful beaches with ice, a fun 4wd in snow out to an ice caves, humpback whale…This tour was more than I could have hoped for. Although the northern lights weren’t their most vibrant, this tour had beautiful beaches with ice, a fun 4wd in snow out to an ice caves, humpback whales, the historical Wilderness Center, a spa, a horse farm and the most wonderful and thoughtful guide, Hjalti. Our group bonded well becoming friends. The accommodations were all lovely. This was a dream trip beyond compare.

The caves are water-formed an…Really enjoyed the tour along with my son, aged 14. The highlight for both of us was definitely the ice caves. Amazing to look into the past through the layers of ice. The caves are water-formed and stunning. A close second are the waterfalls and the incredible lava field. Our guide, Hjalti Bjorn conveyed his passion for Iceland, its beauty, history, culture and geology. Another treat was stopping for a road-side herd of Icelandic horses. Hjalti shares the national passion for these horses and what makes them special. A memorable trip!

Great tour to have a glimpse of the beauty of Iceland in a single week. Enough time to stop and take pictures, sometimes even to hike a little. Enough time to stop and take pictures, sometimes even to hike a little. Recommended if you don't want to stress yourself in driving, finding the way, or booking hotels. We slept in great hotels every night. Hjalti, our guide, was great! Funny, helpful, he explained some facts and history of Iceland and showed us some nice spots. Unfortunately we had to skip the whale watching due to a snow storm. Only thing I can suggest, add a night tour with northern light view, seen from around the hotels but not enough dark.

I was a little nervous going into this tour as I was a university student traveling alone (before meeting up with the tour) but I was immediately put at ease once we began. After being a part of this tour, I truly believe it is one of the best ways to experience Iceland. By moving from Reyjavik, through the south to the east, and back west across the north, you experience all the wonders Iceland has to offer and experience the country of "fire and ice". I would just like to let people know that we picked up the last people for our tour @ 8:45 am, so there is probably no need to panic if your guide isn't there by 8:30 am. I think 45 minutes is a better representation of how long you might wait at your pick-up spot because the guide needs to stop at other hotels/stops, get the people, load their luggage, etc which takes time, especially depending on how many different stops they need to make. But I really loved this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a week in Iceland!!

He went above and beyond to try and help us see the Northern Lights and …We had a great time on our adventure. Before leaving all of our questions were answered promptly. Our guide was fantastic!!! He went above and beyond to try and help us see the Northern Lights and arranged a visit with some of your famous Icelandic Horses. The only part we did not enjoy was the whale watch. I really did not even think this would be an option in December. Even with the provided extra layer, it was sooo cold. The accommodations were wonderful and spotlessly clean. Will recommend Arctic Adventures to anyone who asks about our trip.

Hjaltib was an EXCELLENT guide & driver! He made special care to ensure everyone was having a safe and memorable time. Such a nice gentleman akin to a wise grandpa for all of us on the trip!

The tour provider was Arctic Adventures. This trek was really excellent! I came back home feeling I’d had a massive adventure and was ready for more!
I had a great group of twelve people from various countries and age groups that included eight solo travellers like me. Our guide (Hjalti Björnsson) really looked after us all and was a great cook! He also gave us some great insights in to the scenery, nature, culture and history of Iceland. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
The landscapes in Iceland are otherworldly magical and heartbreakingly beautiful. The light and shadow play on the volcanic landscapes which, due to the vegetation that clings to the rocks, were a multitude of colours. The air was so fresh and for a while I felt totally at peace. I could have just sat and watched the views for a year! There is nowhere else like this place, at least not in Europe and not that I’ve seen. I was a bit sad when the trek ended. Thank you Arctic Adventures and Hjalti Björnsson!!

Loved every single moment of this trip! ( Maybe the 3 hours whale watching boat a bit less - I would recommend to upgrade at the 1h30 speed boat if you can).

Hjalti best guide ever!!! Very knowledgeable and always happy to reccomended the best option for our group.
Hotels were very nice and comfortable, I loved to food as well.
The last week of march was also the perfect timing for me: we saw the ice cave, the Northern light (twice! I know I was lucky and Hjalti helped us a lot!) And some semi-ice waterfalls.
Loved the east area between the vulcanos and the glacier.
Very well organized, big applause to Arctic Adventure! High reccomended!

This trip hits all my bucket list from tasting Icelandic food, chasing waterfalls, hiking the glaciers and volcanoes, hotspring experience to witnessing the northern lights... we got it all on this trip! Thank you to our guide for accommodating everyone in our group (dealing with ages 29 to 84 years old in the bus was not easy) and also bringing us to the testing center so we can get our covid test done prior returning to USA. I highly recommended... thumbs up! Iceland is beautiful!

Our tour guide, Hjalti Bjornsson, was fun, energetic, and went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience, taking us to all the planned destinations but also stopping at a few extra places for photo stops and such, just to make it even more fun. Part of what made it so enjoyable was hearing from someone who grew up in and loves Iceland. He loves his country and so many of its treasures are more fully appreciated when they are presented to you by someone who knows and loves them. I cannot say enough about this tour. The scenery is breathtaking in Iceland in the winter. Highlights were the glacier hike, the geothermal bath, the northern lights, whale watching, and meeting some of the world’s most friendly horses! Arctic adventures and Hjalti could not have done better with this. I was glad not to be driving on some of the days, with windy and snowy conditions, there is no way I could safely drive in it but Hjalti had no problems safely driving the van.

Having the transportation and accommodations taken care of in advance allows you to relax and enjoy the adventure.
We were fortunate enough to have Hjalti Bjornsson as our guide. He is a wonderful ambassador for Iceland and has a wealth of knowledge of the country. He was always looking for ways to make the tour special and unique based on the conditions. He able provide a great balance between photo stops (it's hard to take a bad picture!), great coffee stops, bathroom breaks and hikes.
But it's the customization where Hjalti knowledge pays off: Running ahead of schedule? Hjalti takes us to see the sunset at the Dyrholaey lighthouse! Wondering if there are other less famous waterfalls? Hjalti knows quite a few just along the way! Game of Thrones fan? Hjalti incorporates the filming locations into the trip! Interested in early Icelandic settlers? Hjalti arranges a special stop. Want to see a less crowded version of Glacier Lagoon? Hjalti knows one! Interested in a pizza and beer joint in Egilsstadoir? Hjalti knows a great one. Want to see Icelandic horses? Hjalti arranges a riding and stable tour! Want a suggestion for a last night dinner in Reykjavik? Hjalti not only has a list of recommendations, but calls the place and makes the reservation!
I'm not sure how Arctic Adventures assigns tour guides, but you can't get better than Hjalti Bjornsson.

We experienced the worst storm in 25 years during our tour with almost all roads closed, yet it hardly caused a bump. Our superb guide Hjalti ensured that we planned ahead, organised alternative accommodation and kept us informed all the time.
The tour itself was amazing, with breathtaking iceland scenery and experiences.
We had the best time ever!
