  for the three-hour glacier hike at Vatnajokull with specialist guide, how strenuous is the hike and do we have to do it?

    The glacier hike is considered easy. This means that it is suitable for most people in fair condition. You have to be able to walk on an uneven surface and hike for 2 – 3 hours at a slow pace, with breaks. Trails are generally of good quality and glacier travel is at a relatively low angle. At the moment, we only offer an adventure package of the tour on the TourRadar platform; therefore, the glacier hike unfortunately cannot be excluded from the itinerary. We offer a similar package that excludes 2 days spent in Reykjavik. This package is customisable and would allow you to include or exclude the glacier hike and the whale-watching tour.

    On the 1st day of the tour, you will have to check in at your hotel at around 14:00 PM. May 16th - You will be staying at Hótel Ísland. May 17th - 6 Days Around Iceland Adventure. Pick-up starts at 08:00 AM from your hotel. May 22nd - You will be staying at Hótel Ísland. The final accommodation will be on the 22nd of May and the 23rd of May is still a part of our tour, yet it will be an activity-free day. Usually on these days, our customers tend to explore Reykjavik or book another day tour, or head to the airport. You will meet the guide as well as the whole group on the 17th of May, during the pick-up process.

  if I book the tour on this date will I check out of my hotel on June 9th? or the 10th? I need to get onto a ship onto June 9th so would appreciate your guidance.

    If you start your tour on the 2nd of June, your tour will end on the 9th of June. Please note, the first and the last days of the tour are activity-free days, so if you have to catch a flight or board the ship, you can do that without any worries.

  I see on your site that the minimum age requirement is listed as 6, however, when I had called before I was told that younger children could come providing a parent stayed with them on the bus during activities unsuitable for children. Is that the case or does the child have to be at least six to go? Additionally, if a child is under 6 is the cost of the trip still the full amount?

    Please know that children under the age of 6 cannot participate in this tour. The age limit we have in place is for safety and comfort purposes, with no room for exceptions. The child has to be at least 6 to join this tour. For all travelers of ages 6-15, the rate is lower than for an adult ticket.

  Is the first day's accommodation in Reykjavik included in the price? Flights from the US arrive in Reykjavik in the morning, and it is a free day in the city according to your itinerary. Also, hotel check-ins are generally in the afternoon. What would one do on arriving in the morning and waiting until after noon to check in?

    This tour includes 7 nights of accommodation, including Day 1, so if you book for August 19th, your first night of accommodation will be on the same day. While waiting to check into your hotel for the night, you can explore the city, do some shopping for the upcoming trip or have your lunch. There are also a few city tours in Reykjavik, so you may want to join one as well. Your luggage can be left in a storage facility, for example, at the BSI bus terminal where the airport shuttles usually arrive at, or at the hotel.

    The tour includes the Whale-watching and Ice Caving activities. Unfortunately, the nature baths admission is not included in the price of the tour. It should be added separately. The price for the nature baths admission is 7400 ISK per person. As for accommodation, we usually book the hotels that are of 3 stars or higher rating.

    Unfortunately, we do not offer the standard packages of our tours through TourRadar due to system limitations, the tours on this platform always include the most complete experience possible. Moreover, the 8-day Ring Road Tour doesn't have a reduced version whatsoever. We assure you that the full package is the ultimate travel experience in Iceland, so we certainly recommend looking into choosing the complete version of the adventure. The Crystal Ice Cave tour and the Whale Watching are almost certain to be some of the highlights for most travelers and are quite worth it!

  Is it possible to book additional nights at the hotel used by the tour so as not to have to change hotels? Is this something you can organise? Or at what point are the hotels confirmed? What does moderate fitness level mean?

    Unfortunately, we only provide accommodation for the duration of the tour. You would have to book your pre and post-tour accommodation by yourself. We recommend booking one of the authorized pick-up location hotels. The 8-day Ring Road is more of a sight-seeing adventure. The tour is considered to be of easy difficulty level which means that the tour is suitable for all types of traveler. Moderate difficulty level means that the tour is suitable for those in good condition who are able to walk for about 4 hours at a low or moderate pace. Trails are generally of good quality and glacier travel at a relatively low angle.

    Is the day one hotel in Reykjavík included or is it the end of tour hotel in the city? If I was to book the Sunday to Sunday tour and arrive Saturday do I need to book both nights or is one part of the tour? And the same at the end, is there a night at a hotel in Reykavich included or should I book that separately?

    The 8-Day Iceland Ring Road Tour includes 7 nights of accommodation: your first night in Reykjavik, 5 nights during the tour around Iceland, and the final night back in Reykjavik. Your accommodation from October 5th to 12th is all taken care of as part of the tour. If you're arriving earlier than the 5th or staying later than the 12th, you'd just need to book those extra nights yourself.
