  I want to book a tour called BALKAN EXPLORER for the date of 22nd OCT 2026 but the issue is that I have applied for the credit card, with 15 month 0% interest, and the card would take at least 10 days to come. Is it possible to keep that spot reserve and pay when I receive my card. In the mean time I can give you my other card and pl ensure not to charge the card till I give you my desired card. Or let me know if there is another way to keep our 2 spots reserve till that time.

    We are only able to hold spaces for a short period, usually up to 48 hours, and unfortunately we are not able to reserve places for a longer period while waiting for card delivery. To secure your preferred departure date and guarantee the current price, the booking would need to be confirmed at the time of reservation, which means the card provided would be charged upon booking. If you would like, you can go ahead and book using your current card to secure your two spots, and then use your new card for future payments or financial arrangements on your end once it arrives.

  Clients were wondering about the price difference between the tour that leaves on the 6th and the one that leaves on the 20th. Due to work contraints, clients would prefer the 6th and were wondering if they could have the same pricing as the 27th.

    The price difference per departure that you see for our tours is because we offer our Tour Seats in a bucket price system. This means that seat prices increase as more of them are sold. The price for the May 06, 2027 departure is already the next bucket unlike the seats for the May 20, 2027 departure. Regrettably, we cannot change the price of the seats that are offered.

  Would you please provide some additional information for the Athens Hotel. The information will allow me to either make a one night reservation at the same hotel or at an hotel in the general vicinity. I do realize that accommodation sites can vary or change. Even a general idea of the city district usually used would help.

    How long is the stop at Pritvice Lakes. How far to walk. Is this trip very strenuous for 90 years old with walking canes.

    During the visit to Plitvice Lakes National Park, guests typically have a few hours to explore the area at a relaxed pace, depending on the group and conditions on the day. You'll spend one night accommodation there. The park is known for its stunning waterfalls and scenic walking trails, some of which include uneven terrain and gentle inclines. We do welcome elderly travellers, and many of our guests enjoy the experience comfortably. However, please note that the tour involves moderate walking and long travel days, and the Plitvice Lakes visit can be strenuous for those with limited mobility. You are very welcome to bring a small walking stick or cane, but unfortunately, larger mobility aids such as walkers, wheelchairs or rollators cannot be accommodated due to space and safety limitations on the coach. If you're comfortable walking at your own pace and can manage short inclines or uneven paths, you should still be able to enjoy much of the park's beauty. Your tour leader can also help suggest easier routes or rest points along the way.

    We do not offer airport transfers for this tour. You're welcome to arrange your own transportation to and from the airport. We can recommend a reliable service such as Welcome Pickups, which offers pre-booked transfers at fixed rates.

    Are all the dates in the brochure confirmed? If there a minimum number of pax required to form the tour? Once the tour group is formed, is it fixed with the same number of people or would the number of people and the group members keep changing? Day 1 starts at 1000. Does it mean that we have to check in the hotel the day before Day 1? For this 16-day tour there are 15 hotel nights provided. Are these hotels from day 1 to day 15? Can we stay in another hotel before joining the tour on day 1?

    All dates listed on our website and brochure are confirmed and open for booking unless marked as sold out. Each tour does have a minimum number of travelers required to operate, but our Balkan Explorer departures generally reach this number well in advance. Once a tour group is confirmed, the same group of travelers remains together throughout the entire journey. Day 1 typically begins at around 10:00 a.m., so we strongly recommend arriving the day before. The tour includes 15 hotel nights, covering accommodation from Day 1 to Day 15. You can book additional pre-tour accommodation at the same starting hotel (subject to availability).

    i have two friends who will be 80 years old next year. can they join this tour? they are healthy and have regular exercise and are regulars in group tours.

    We welcome travellers aged 10 and above, including seniors, as long as they are in good health and comfortable with the tour's physical requirements. This tour can be fast-paced, with walking tours on uneven or cobblestone surfaces, longer travel days by coach, and some hotels that may not have lifts, so travellers should be comfortable moving their luggage and walking at a steady pace.

    I found out that we need a visa to go to Serbia. But there is no Serbian Embassy or Consulate in my country! The website says it is not possible for us (Malaysians) to apply for the visa online but we have to do it at the Embassy. This is not possible for us as the Embassy is not in my country. We don't mind skipping Serbia for Day 12. Will Expat Explore Travel be able to make alternative arrangement for us for Day 12 after we leave Budapest, and re-join the tour group on Day 13 at Sofia in Bulgaria?

    As there is no Serbian Embassy or Consulate in Malaysia, the nearest Serbian diplomatic mission is in Jakarta, Indonesia. Expat Explore Travel isn't able to arrange alternative travel or accommodation outside of the group itinerary. If obtaining a visa is not possible, you would need to make your own arrangements for transport and accommodation between Budapest and Sofia, then rejoin the group on Day 13 in Sofia.

    We're pleased to offer a 2% discount for a confirmed group of 15 or more travellers. We're also pleased to offer vegetarian options throughout our adventures. While US passport holders generally don't require a visa for EU states, it's a good idea to check with the local embassy, considering upcoming changes such as ETIAS.

    From Houston, USA: We may arrive a day before so to be ready for the tour next day morning. Will you provide room for that night? Would you also provide transportation from and to to hotel and airport? All of us are vegetarian so our choice.

However, once your booking is confirmed, we'll be happy to share helpful third-party links to assist you in arranging these on your own. Vegetarian options are available throughout the tour.     Optional excursions can simply be booked during the tour with your tour leader. A few excursions do require pre-booking, but these can only be added to your booking once you are within 90 days of departure. Pre-booking is not yet possible but you can check which ones require pre-booking later. Your tour leader will go through all the available options with the group at the start of the tour, and you'll be able to confirm your interest and pay then, either in local cash or by credit card.
