We spend an hour at the Sheldricks and this is spent at the orphan nursery. The visit consists of joining the elephants at their midday mud bath and milk feeding. Upgrades are available at many of the campsites we stay at, however availability cannot be guaranteed as these are done on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be pre-booked. The upgraded accommodations do typically include proper beds, but the standard can vary, some may be quite basic, while others are a bit more comfortable.

Tipping is not included in your tour cost as it is completely optional. If you feel your guide and crew went above and beyond to make your trip special, tipping would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there are very long days on the road but the scenery certainly helps to make it enjoyable. I had the most fantastic trip travelling with Absolute Africa. Jo was our guide and Steve our driver. They were helpful, friendly, positive and always up for a chat. They tried their best to solve any problems that we had and communicated all the necessary information to us each evening. A highlight for me was hot air ballooning over the Serengeti, which I believe is an absolute must! Even though it is expensive it was totally worth the money. Another highlight was trekking to see the mountain gorillas and whitewater rafting down the Nile river! I made many friends and had a lovely group. Cooking, cleaning and camping along side them was no issue. The only negative worth mentioning is that one of the optional game drives in the Serengeti is run at the same time as the hot air ballooning. So when you land and join up with the jeep for the game drive, you have missed out on a few hours of the drive even though you pay the same price as the other people. Overall a fantastic experience that I highly, highly recommend!Show more
