- Day 1
Airport/Hotel to Masai Mara
Your journey kicks off with a private pickup from your hotel or airport. The drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley on the way to Masai Mara, where you'll stop at a traditional Maasai village to see how the community lives, watch traditional dances, and learn about their customs. After that, you'll head to your lodge to settle in for the night.

Landmarks Great Rift Valley Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 2
Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, you're heading out for a full day of game driving in Masai Mara National Reserve. Your guide will help you spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, leopards, and cheetahs across the rolling savannah. Depending on when you're traveling, you might see the Great Migration. Lunch comes as a picnic in the bush, and then you'll continue searching for wildlife in the afternoon hours.

Masai Mara
You'll do another full day in Masai Mara with an early morning start to catch wildlife when they're most active. Your guide will track fresh signs to find predators and prey interactions, which happen best in the golden light of early morning. After lunch, you'll explore the quieter sections of the reserve later in the day when animals become active again as temperatures cool down.

Masai Mara to Entebbe
Following breakfast, you'll leave Masai Mara and drive back toward Nairobi. From there, a short flight takes you to Uganda, landing in Entebbe where a driver meets you and takes you to your accommodation. You'll have time to rest and get ready for what's coming next.

Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you're driving west through Uganda's scenic countryside toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. You'll stop at the Equator for photos and to look at local crafts. The drive continues through lush hills, tea plantations, banana farms, and small villages where you'll see how rural Ugandans live. You'll arrive at your lodge near the park as evening falls.

Landmarks Equator Queen Elizabeth National Park - Day 6
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning starts with a drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards. In the afternoon, you'll board a boat on Kazinga Channel, which has one of the world's largest populations of hippos. The boat takes you past massive hippo groups, crocodiles, and herds of elephants and buffalo that come down to the water to drink.

Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The day begins with chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Forest, guided by local experts who know where to find them. You'll track a wild chimp group and spend about an hour watching how they behave. After that, you're heading south as the landscape changes from flat plains to rolling hills and then into dense, mountainous jungle. You'll reach your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by late afternoon.

Landmarks Kalinzu Forest Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Day 8
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mutanda
You'll trek through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that's home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Your guide gives you a briefing before you head out to track a habituated gorilla family. Once you find them, you get to spend an hour watching them play, move through the trees, and interact with each other. Then you'll travel on to Lake Mutanda.

Landmarks Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Lake Mutanda - Day 9
Lake Mutanda to Rwanda
You're taking a canoe or boat across Lake Mutanda with views of the Virunga volcanoes in the distance. You'll pass by islands and see local people paddling their dugout canoes. From there, you head toward Rwanda, spotting wildlife and seeing the distinctive Ankole cattle along the way before arriving at your lodge.

Landmarks Lake Mutanda Virunga Volcanoes - Day 10
Volcanoes National Park to Kigali
In Volcanoes National Park, you can choose what to do: track the Golden Monkeys with their striking orange-gold coats as they leap through the Virunga Mountains, or hike to Dian Fossey's tomb through the forest to learn about her work with mountain gorillas. Either way, you'll drive to Kigali afterward where your guide drops you at the airport or your hotel.
