    The Nile does not have rough waves. A Nile River cruise is usually very calm and smooth, with minimal movement and no rough waves. Because the flow of the river in Egypt is heavily regulated by dams like the Aswan High Dam, the water acts like a tranquil, lazy waterway rather than a turbulent sea.

    We would need to know the exact type of the telescope to reply as in general, bringing a solar telescope to Egypt for the August 2, 2027 eclipse carries a high risk of customs confiscation due to strict national security laws, though Luxor provides ideal, clear-sky viewing locations along the centerline. Egyptian customs and airport security tightly restrict high-magnification optics, long lenses, and telescopes, frequently viewing them as potential reconnaissance or security threats. No official announcement has been made yet from the authorities regarding amateur astronomy gear for 2027. We can apply for a permit (we plan to do it this year as most groups will submit next year and we want to have a head start) to the ministry of tourism and you would need to submit your passport details, telescope serial numbers, and exact technical specifications to compilee a master equipment manifest and interfaces directly with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and airport customs to secure a clearance letter but the outcome is not guranteed.

    Based on the itinerary, most sightseeing days involve approximately 2–3 hours spent outdoors, with the remainder of the day consisting of travel in air-conditioned vehicles, indoor visits, meals, or time at the hotel. The only exception is eclipse day, when guests can expect to spend approximately 3–4 hours outdoors. This is because everyone will arrive at the viewing site well before totality to get comfortably settled, enjoy the experience, and remain until the event has concluded. While August is one of the warmer months in Egypt, we have designed the itinerary to help minimize prolonged exposure to the heat wherever possible. Sightseeing is paced with regular comfort breaks, transportation is provided in air-conditioned vehicles, and the itinerary includes indoor experiences, such as the Grand Egyptian Museum. We also recommend wearing lightweight clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, and sunscreen, and bringing a reusable water bottle. We will ensure plenty of drinking water is available throughout the tour.

    I am leery of your trip since you refer to the eclipse as a "lunar eclipse" instead of a "solar eclipse" - big different. You also say that "later in the evening" you'll go to watch the lunar eclipse. This is a day-time event... solar eclipse, not lunar.

    I truly dislike the August 2nd activity schedule, as it is far far far too busy for eclipse day. You're trying to fit what most people spend 3-4 days in Luxor to see into a morning before the eclipse... that's not possible, nor fun! That is a day when eclipse viewers want to be still... be in position when the event happens, and not being inside a tomb or in a long line of people waiting in line for something.

    I honesty think your trip is very expensive for an 8-day itinerary. The 14 day trip I have these folks booked on is $28,000 with the single supplement. Yours is 5 days shorter and is only $3500 less.

    it is a small group tour with a guide. Max participants will be about 18-20 pax. The eclipse viewing will be from Jolie Ville Resort Kings Island Luxor. We cannot add an extra day to Hurghada mid trip as this is a shared tour.
