- Day 1
Arusha
A safari representative picks you up from the airport and drives you to Ilboru Safari Lodge in Arusha. This is your first night, so you'll have time to settle in and get ready for the safari adventures starting tomorrow.

Tarangire National Park
After heading out from your lodge, you'll drive across the Maasai plains toward Tarangire National Park. The full day game drive takes you through seasonal swamps and savanna where you can spot elephants, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and giraffes. If you're lucky, you might see lions or leopards too. You'll travel in an open-roof safari jeep so you get great views of the Tarangire River. Back at your lodge by evening for dinner.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you head toward the highlands, passing through rainforests in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where baboons, leopards, or elephants might appear. You'll see the Ngorongoro Crater before reaching Serengeti National Park by midday. The afternoon brings an extensive game drive across grassy plains, swamps, lakes, and mountains. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

- Day 4
Northern Serengeti
Starting early, you drive to the Northern Serengeti where the landscape rolls gently across about 100 km. This area has permanent wildlife populations year-round. During August, you might witness the migration with river crossings at the Mara River as herds navigate strong currents and crocodiles. You'll also see geological features like Lobo Kopje. Evening return to your lodge for dinner under the African sky.

- Day 5
Mara River Crossing
After an early breakfast, you head out hoping to catch the dramatic Mara River crossing. Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather on the banks before one brave group leads the charge across the turbulent waters, dodging crocodiles. Those that make it find lush grazing grass on the other side.

- Day 6
Seronera
Following breakfast, you return to Seronera for more wildlife viewing in the Serengeti. Beyond the migrating herds, you have chances to see resident predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions. After an extensive game drive through the day, you head back to your lodge for a hearty dinner and another night by the fire.

- Day 7
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you do another game drive in the Serengeti, then travel to the Ngorongoro Crater. You arrive at the crater's edge in the afternoon and get your first view of glistening streams, grassland, and countless animals below. Overnight at a lodge on the crater rim.

- Day 8
Ngorongoro Crater
Very early after breakfast, you descend onto the crater floor for the full day. This volcanic crater is 610 meters deep and covers roughly 260 square kilometers as an enclosed ecosystem formed three million years ago. You'll see the big five plus wildebeest, gazelle, reedbuck, and about 500 bird species. Picnic lunch comes near the hippo lake, then you climb out in the afternoon. Overnight in Karatu town.

- Day 9
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, you drive 120 km west to Lake Manyara National Park for your final safari stop. This smaller park has a shallow salt lake covering about 70% of its surface and hosts thousands of flamingos plus around 500 bird species. You'll spot monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and elephants while exploring grassy plains, woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs. With luck, you might see lions in the trees. After lunch, you head back to Arusha, arriving late afternoon.
