You'll board a scenic flight heading to Lukla, which takes about an hour and offers incredible views of the mountains as you get closer. Once you land, the actual trekking begins as you walk through Sherpa villages along the Dudh Koshi River. After breakfast, you'll cross several suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park where you pay the entrance fee. The trail climbs steadily as you make your way to Namche, the main Sherpa town and a gateway to Everest. This portion takes about 5 to 6 hours of walking and you're gaining altitude noticeably, so the pace is measured and manageable.

    • Enter Sagarmatha National Park
    • Trek to Namche (Sherpa capital)

Later, wander through Namche's market where local vendors sell everything from souvenirs to supplies, and stop by the small museums to learn about the region's climbing history and Sherpa culture.

This sacred monastery sits high on a ridge and serves as the spiritual heart of the Khumbu region. The walk to get there covers about 4 to 5 hours through varied mountain terrain, and you'll notice the landscape starting to shift toward higher alpine conditions.

You'll spend most of the afternoon resting and preparing yourself mentally for the higher elevations you're approaching in the coming days.

  10. Day 10

    Everest Base Camp to Pheriche

Your alarm goes off very early so you can climb to Kala Patthar and watch the sun rise over Everest. The views from this vantage point are considered some of the best on the trek. The return from Pheriche to Namche is mostly downhill, which is easier on your legs even though it's still about 5 to 6 hours of walking. You'll experience Sherpa hospitality along the way as you pass through villages and stop at tea houses. The lower elevation also means the air feels easier to breathe, and you're retracing familiar sections of the route.

    Meals
    Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

    Included Activities

    • Downhill trek to Namche
    • Experience Sherpa hospitality
  12. Day 12

    Namche to Lukla

This final trekking day brings you back to Lukla where you and your team gather to celebrate what you've accomplished together. When I traveled to Nepal I was a bit disoriented and lost till I met Krishna, a lovely guide. He gave me lots of options and ideas what to do and where to go. I was able to choose them the way I wanted and how they fitted into my schedule. To be honest I guess I´d still be lost in the streets if I hadn´t met the team of Ammonite Adventures. They definitely made my trip to one of the most impressive trips I ever had. I can´t do something else than recommend them! They are cool guys who care about your wishes and ideas. I can´t wait to visit Ammonite Adventures next year again and explore some new places in my favorite country so far. Thank you for the amazing experiences and see you soon!
