- Day 1
Arrival to Cantanhez Forest Reserve
When you arrive, a 4x4 takes you south into Cantanhez Forest Reserve, where over 200 bird species live alongside West Africa's western chimpanzees. You'll settle into Jemberem eco-camp for the night, getting oriented to the forest environment and meeting the local guides who'll work with you over the next few days.

- Day 2
Cantanhez Forest Reserve
Early morning means heading out with a local tracker to look for chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, and hornbills moving through the canopy. By afternoon, you'll either cool off at a forest waterfall or spend time near sacred trees that local animists hold in high regard, learning about their spiritual importance to the community.

Cantanhez Forest Reserve
After breakfast, you visit either a Balanta or Fula village for a few hours of cultural exchange with residents who can share how they live and work in this region. From there, a canoe takes you through flooded forest channels where kingfishers dart overhead, crocodiles sun themselves on banks, and fish eagles hunt across the water.

Following morning coffee, you pack up and head back to the capital by 4x4. Depending on your flight departure, there's time to grab a local meal and walk around the city before your airport transfer, giving you a bit of time to decompress after days in the forest.
