Itinerary
- Day 1
Las Vegas to Bishop
Your driver picks you up from Las Vegas at 8:00 am and heads northeast into California toward Death Valley National Park. You'll stop at several iconic spots including Zabriskie Point for views and photos, then walk around Artist's Palette to see the colorful mineral-stained hills. The route continues to Badwater Basin where you can walk out onto the salt flats, one of the lowest points in North America. After checking out the exhibits at Furnace Creek Visitor Center, you'll see Devil's Golf Course with its jagged salt formations and then Mesquite Sand Dunes if time allows. A picnic lunch happens somewhere in the park around midday. From there, you'll drive north to Bishop for the evening, arriving in time to set up your first night of camping (roughly 3.5 hours from Death Valley).

Bishop to Yosemite National Park
From Bishop, you'll drive through really nice mountain scenery as you head west and cross Tioga Pass to enter Yosemite National Park. Along the way you'll pass Olmsted Point with its granite views, Lake Tenaya which sits high in the mountains, and Tuolumne Meadows with its wide open alpine landscape. Once you arrive at Yosemite, your guide will take you to the Valley Visitor Center for a quick orientation tour to get your bearings. After that, you'll head to your camping area to settle in for the night. The elevation change means temperatures will feel quite different from Death Valley.

The main waterfalls to see are Bridalveil Falls and Lower Yosemite Falls, both flowing strongly depending on the season. From various spots in the valley you'll have views of Half Dome and El Capitan towering above. Keep your eyes open for wildlife like deer, marmots, and if you're lucky, you might spot a bobcat or black bear from a safe distance.
