Is it safe to travel to Cusco in March?

      Jason

      TravelerWritten February 2024

Given that this tour involves being in the jungle and the water, just wondering about risks of catching diseases from mosquitos and animals (e.g., dengue, rabies)

    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten February 2024

We recommend bring a mosquito repellent, but since this trip is in high altitude the risk is lower.

      TravelerWritten February 2024

I'm trying to figure out how to pack for this trip, as I will be going directly from another trip. If I bring a suitcase and a backpack, would I be able to easily transport them from one hotel to another? Is there any camping involved?

    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten February 2024

the best would be for you to leave your big suitcase at our office and just pack in your backpack for the 4-day Trek :)

    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten February 2024

Yes, it is safe, is a normal thing that happens, but it doesn't affect the departures.

    Asked on January 6th, 2022

Can the dates at all be modified to accommodate from March 11th to the 14th? Also to confirm this package includes hotel, zip lining and water rafting or is that at an additional cost?

    Price / Availability
    Tour Details
    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten January 2022

If you have 6 travelers we are able to open the date for you and make it a private tour. Just for your group. All is included: accommodation, biking, zip line and rafting.

    • L

      Laura

      TravelerWritten January 2022

Thank you for the response. Can you give me information about the hotel accommodations- what hotels these are and their rating? What is the fitness ability to be able to successfully enjoy this excursion and how many Mike's are we expected to walk/ride daily? Additionally, will we be visiting rainbow mountain?

    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten January 2022

This tour includes basic accommodation. The towns where you stay are very small so the hostels are small and normally family-run hostels. The Machu Picchu Jungle Adventure is less hiking and more walking. You will walk in the jungle in the lowlands where there will be fewer views of any mountains. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is a moderately difficult hike, with a few long hiking days combined with multi-sport activities such as mountain biking, zip-lining, and/or river rafting. We recommend you be physically fit for the trip.

    • L

      Laura

      TravelerWritten January 2022

Thank you for the information. You mentioned hostels for the accommodations. Are there any private rooms options for this trip even if at extra cost?

    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten January 2022

No problem, we can book private rooms.

    • L

      Laura

      TravelerWritten January 2022

Please provide me the accommodation information as is a big piece of our experience. Can you provide names and pictures? Also, what will the price be for these accommodations? We will need 4 rooms for the 6 of us.

    • Bamba TravelOperatorWritten January 2022

Accommodation options are very limited along the trekking route for the first 2 nights in Santa Maria & Santa Teresa villages. Most places have very basic facilities. Rooms often share a bathroom and sometimes do not have hot water. However, you need to know that you are in the middle of a trek in the Peruvian mountains, so high end hotels are simply not available. However, we do always choose the best available option.
