Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Fresno to Bass Lake

    You'll meet your guide in Fresno around 4pm and drive out to Bass Lake for the night. After getting oriented to the trip, your guide prepares dinner so you can relax and settle into the lakeside campsite before your hiking adventure begins tomorrow.

  2. Day 2

    Bass Lake to High Sub-Alpine Lakes Basin

    After an early breakfast, you'll head to the trailhead and tackle a 6-mile hike that climbs 1,709 feet through fir forests. The route takes you into the high sub-alpine lakes basin where you'll set up camp for the next 3 nights and get settled in this dramatic location.

  3. Day 3

    High Sub-Alpine Lakes Basin Exploration

    You have flexibility today to explore the upper lakes basin on maintained trails and social trails covering up to 6 miles. Your guides adjust the route based on what the group wants to do. Later there's optional swimming in the lake, dinner prepared at camp, and time for stargazing once it gets dark.

    The morning starts with hot breakfast and coffee before you head out on a summit hike to a nearby 10,000+ foot peak that forms the southern border of Yosemite. You'll have 360-degree Sierra views from up there and enjoy a picnic lunch at the top, then return to camp with the rest of the day free for swimming, exploring, or just relaxing.

    You'll have a relaxed morning and eat your final breakfast before saying goodbye to camp and hiking the 6 miles back down to the trailhead (1,709 feet of elevation loss). From there it's about a 1.5-hour drive back to Fresno Airport or to a nearby hotel, wrapping up the trip.
