Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Pokhara
Your journey starts with a 200 km drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara on a tourist bus, which takes about 6 to 7 hours total. The route winds through terraced rice fields and crosses both the Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers, so you'll catch views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, and the Annapurna range along the way. Breakfast happens around 09:00 am and lunch around 12:00 pm during stops en route.

Pokhara to Ulleri
A shuttle takes you from your Pokhara hotel to Birethanti, about 1.5 hours away, where the trek actually begins. From there you'll cross the Modi Khola bridge near the ACAP checkpoint, then follow Burundi Khola and head up a dirt road to Hille. The trail climbs to Tikhedunga and crosses two suspension bridges over Burundi Khola before you tackle a steep hill leading to Ulleri. This is where you'll get your first look at Annapurna South, and you'll spend the night at a lodge here.

Ulleri to Ghorepani
This day is tougher than the previous one. Start with a steep ascent through stone steps to Upper Ulleri, then walk through Asia's largest rhododendron forests as you keep climbing. You'll reach Ghorepani at 2,850 meters, a village known for its distinctive blue-roofed houses. The route stays steep with minimal flat sections. Ghorepani sits as the gateway to Poon Hill, and if you're trekking in March or April, the rhododendrons will be covered in bright red blossoms across the mountainous valleys.

Landmarks Ghorepani Poon Hill - Day 4
Ghorepani to Tadapani
Get up early to climb to Poon Hill's summit at 3,200 meters and watch the sunrise over the Himalayan range. After breakfast, you'll follow a long ridge through rhododendron forests down to Deurali, then walk through impressive river gorges where you might see Langur monkeys hanging around in the trees. The trek ends at Tadapani where you'll stay the night.

Landmarks Poon Hill Annapurna Range - Day 5
Tadapani to Ghandruk to Pokhara
Walk along shaded forest trails and then through terraced fields growing maize and potatoes to get to Ghandruk at 1,940 meters, a major Gurung settlement. The views here include Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhare. Spend some time wandering the village and check out the cultural museum and monastery if you have time. After that you'll descend to Kimche and catch a drive back to Pokhara, arriving late in the afternoon.
