When I booked this tour, I was apprehensive because it only had 2 more or less bad reviews. But everything was so thoroughly organised and guides and porters had taken good care of us. They even carried an oxygen tank in case someone suffers from altitude sickness (fortunately, no one did). Personally, I would trim off the first day of walking and the last day and a half as those were a bit boring and entailed lots of road walking. From what I heard from before, accommodation improved greatly (expect no luxury of course, everything was basic, but clean). My only issue was with the food, it was written in the notes "vegetarians are well catered for" but didn't say anything for those that are not. So for LCHF people and such, beware, meat is forbidden for 4-5 days of the trek. The pace of walking was very slow (this can be good or bad, depending on personal preference).
Annapurna Base Camp TrekI had an absolutely incredible experience on the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Sherpa Expedition Teams, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. As a solo female traveler, safety and trust were very important to me, and my guide Kumar (or “Kumi,” as I called him 😊) exceeded all expectations. From the very beginning, he made me feel completely safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the journey. My guide was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable, he always knew exactly what he was doing, whether it was pacing the trek, adjusting plans when needed, or sharing insights about the local culture and environment. He was not only a guide but also a great companion, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. Thanks to him, I was able to fully take in the breathtaking beauty of Nepal, the stunning mountain views, peaceful villages, and unforgettable landscapes. He made sure I didn’t miss a thing. If you’re considering this trek, especially as a solo traveler, I wholeheartedly recommend Sherpa Expedition Teams and if you can, ask for Kumar. He truly made this journey special and unforgettable.
