  I completed the 6 day Poonhill trek with Dev as my guide and Amir as my porter. As I booked this trek alone, I wasn't sure whether others would join (they didn't, but it would have been better to know this when I asked Khum upon arriving in Kathmandu.) Travelling solo was fantastic: the organisation and itinerary worked brilliantly. Dev did a fantastic job at altering the itinerary based on what I wanted to see and he planned a fantastic route from Poonhill crossing glacier rivers, via hot springs and through beautiful villages. He was knowledgeable, friendly, chatty (but not too much!) and matched my walking pace well. Dev and Amir kept me company in the afternoon after finishing trekking for the day. We played cards, teaching each other different games. Dev came well prepared for the trek, providing me with snacks, fruit and a poncho that also went over my bag when it tipped it down. He had a superb knowledge of the route, warning me when up/down or "Nepali flat" was coming up. I would highly recommend Dev if you choose to trek with this company.Show more

  First class service from Unique Adventures International for our trek. My son and I started with the intention of completing the Mardi Himal route but recent deep snow made the route impassable after Low Camp and we diverted to Landruk from Forest Camp and joined the Ghorepani Poon Hill Route. We had a superb guide Prem Tamang (ably assisted by porter Ramesh) who made the trip extra special. Prem is great fun to be with but has years of mountain trekking wisdom and experience across the Himalayas and beyond. We had total faith in him. Our diversion actually enhanced the trek and we were able to cover a greater distance than originally planned and it had a ‘round trip’ feel. From the outset, Unique Adventures facilitated all our requests and were very helpful at each stage, responding speedily to all pre-trip email queries. They are an efficient, reliable, trustworthy outfit who provide provide value for money and I would have no hesitation in using again and highly recommending.Show more

  This hike was amazing. Is was my first hike ever so the last few days were a bit tough but still not as tough as I thought it would be. We had amazing views which i really enjoyed in the first few days but is was very rainy and cloudy in the last few days due to the monsoon season. I enjoyed passing the villages with kind locals and seeing so many animals anywhere. With good A/B or B shoes and magnesium powder you will be fine. You can buy water anywere but its mostly bottled. Great hike which I would love to do again in another season. I recommend this hike to anyone who only has a few days or for beginners. What I liked most about this trek was how much effort was put into making this such a great experience. Both the guide Dev and the porters Ramez and Amir were so approachable, kind, helpful and flexible. The company provided us with great guesthouses with warm water and private attached bathrooms and I also learned this fun Nepalese cardgame. I would definitely recommend booking with Unique Adventure 100 percent as I can't imagine the experience getting any better than with them.Show more

  Poon hill trek exceeded my expectations. Everything from permits to tea houses was already arranged so could relax throughout the trek. Each tea house stayed at had amazing views and good food. Our guide Dev made the whole trek perfect. Lots of knowledge of the area and you could tell he genuinely just loved his job and was happy to be there. Always a huge smile on his face and going out of his way to make sure we had the best experience possible. Would reccomend to anyone and try get Dev as your guide!Show more
