I'm planning my first trip to Nepal and would love your advice on the best trek option. I'm first time trekking but fit and active. Not essential, but would like to see Chitwan National Park for a jungle safari. Do you have any group treks running in this window I could join, or would this be a private guide? Given it's monsoon season, which trek would you recommend? Current trail conditions/visibility would be helpful to know. Given the short notice, is this all realistically bookable in time — permits, guide availability, etc.?

I would highly recommend the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. It is one of the best trekking options during the monsoon season, especially for first-time trekkers. The trail passes through beautiful rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, and offers breathtaking mountain scenery whenever the skies clear. Since the route is at a lower elevation than Everest or Annapurna Base Camp, it is generally safer and more enjoyable during the rainy season. We can arrange either a small group trek if other travelers are joining on your dates, or a private trek with your own experienced English-speaking guide. During July, you can expect lush green landscapes, waterfalls, and fewer trekkers. There may be occasional rain, especially in the afternoons, but mornings are often clearer. While mountain views depend on the weather, Poon Hill still offers excellent opportunities for panoramic Himalayan scenery after rainfall. As a solo female traveler, safety and trust were very important to me, and my guide Kumar (or “Kumi,” as I called him 😊) exceeded all expectations. Everything was well organised from planning to the implementation of our trek (Poon Hill). Everybody was very kind and helped us every time. Our guide Lakpa and our Porter Dorje were absolutely professional and caring. They really know a lot of the nature, history, cultures etc. in Nepal and answered all of our questions. Additionally, we were also interested in their personal lives and so they told us about it really open-hearted. Without Lakpa and Dorje we've never got Nepal so DEEPLY known like we did. Our shared moments were interesting, funny and familiar. So if you also should like to trek in Nepal, ask for them :) Finally and short: It's worth it to go to Nepal and be accompanied by this agency! Try it and gain your own experiences. :)Show more
