Frequently Asked Questions

    • What is the average temperature around mid November in Africa?

The temperature in November may vary, but it is in general between 22C and 25C.

    • We are travelling with our 2 sons who will be 15 and 18 years old. Can they travel on this trip?

Yes, I’m happy to confirm that we can welcome your family on the Kenya and Tanzania safari.

    • Does this tour accept travellers under 18 years old?

Yes this tour welcomes travelers under 18 years old. Please just bear in mind that in general our groups are made up of adults and these are group participation tours where passengers do all help with the daily jobs around camp, such as cleaning and cooking. We do also camp out in the wild occasionally so would just ask you take responsibility at these times that the younger members of your family understand the procedures.

    • What are the highlights of this tour?

This 18 day overland tour will allow you to get to so many of Kenya and Tanzania’s most special highlights including two nights in the famed Masai Mara and a day of guided game drives in Nakuru National Park, with also the option of guided game drives in the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. We finish with the option of four days on the tropical island of Zanzibar Island to wind down at the end on the endless palm fringed beaches.

    • When is the best time to view the migration?

The prime time to visit the Serengeti in Tanzania is usually regarded as being from late November through to March when the big herds of wildebeest, Thomson’s gazelle and zebra head on to the southern plains of the Serengeti.

To get the best viewing on the other hand in Kenya's Masai Mara July through to September are usually regarded as the best months.

    • How much will this tour really cost me?

The costs to consider when travelling overland are:

      Safari price & Local payment,
      Optional excursions,
      Personal spending money,
      Visas.

We are always very transparent about what a tour will cost and are happy to go through personal, tailored budgets to give you a very realistic idea of what you will spend on your tour - whether you are an adrenaline junkie, souvenir-shopaholic or travelling on a shoestring…

    • What is the local payment?

The local payment is a separate payment from the initial price you pay before you leave. If a local payment is required it will be shown with the trip price. This second payment is made in Africa at the start of your trip. It is payable in USD. The local payment provides us with the means for expenses that need to be paid in cash to local businesses en route to be arranged in the most cost effective manner possible, a saving we can then pass on to you. It also means we can operate in a way that directly supports local businesses and wildlife authorities as we travel. Local Payment will not be changed once you have booked your travel arrangements.

    • What is the inclusion for the fee in this tour?

The price includes the Kenyan game parks particularly, entry and 4 game drives in The Masai Mara (2 days), entry and game drives in Nakuru National Park, and Lake Naivasha for a hippo cruise.
