Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Humatay Lake - Sky Camp
Your guide picks you up at 4:00 a.m. from your Cusco hotel and drives to Mollepata for breakfast. The hike starts from Challacancha, following an old Inca canal system toward Soraypampa. After about 3 hours you'll reach Sky Camp, where lunch is waiting. In the afternoon, head up to Humantay Lake with its turquoise water, then return to camp as the sun sets for dinner under the stars.

- Day 2
Soraypampa to Salkantay Pass - Collpapampa
Start the day with coca tea and breakfast at Soraypampa, then begin the climb to Salkantay Pass at 4,630 m, the trek's highest point. From the summit you'll see three sacred mountains: Salkantay, Humantay, and Pumasillo. The descent takes you through changing terrain to Huayracmachay for lunch. Later you move into cloud forest where tropical plants replace the snow, and by evening you reach Collpapampa to rest.

- Day 3
Collpapampa - Hidroeléctrica - Aguas Calientes
After breakfast at 6:00 a.m., you hike through Santa Teresa Valley for about 5 hours, surrounded by tropical plants and wildlife. Lunch happens at La Playa, where local guides explain how they process coffee traditionally. From there, a private vehicle takes you to the train station at Hidroeléctrica. You'll either walk or take the train into Aguas Calientes, check into your hotel, and have free time to soak in the hot springs before dinner.

Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco
Early morning starts with a light breakfast, then the first buses leave Aguas Calientes heading to Machu Picchu to catch sunrise over the ruins. A guide leads you through the site for two hours, walking past temples, terraces, and sacred spaces. If you booked ahead, optional hikes up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain are available. Back in Aguas Calientes you'll have lunch, then the train takes you to Ollantaytambo, and a private car brings you back to Cusco.
