    We certainly can take solo travellers on this tour. Solo travellers will be matched up and share a tent with another solo traveller of the same gender.
    
    In your case, to get you booked as a solo traveller on our Cape to Falls - 22 days tour departing 15 Jul - 05 Aug 2023 pricing will be USD 2,015.00.
    
    Please note this trip has a local payment of USD 820.00 per person. It is this payment which covers national park fees and certain activities, in addition to camping fees and fresh produce (on our overland camping safaris). The local payment is in addition to the tour price specified above and is to be paid directly to the tour leader on Day 1 of the trip.

    The rate for solo travellers will be CAD 2,735.00 as listed on our website. Once booked, you will be matched up and share a tent with another solo traveller of the same gender. If we are unable to match you then ultimately you would end up with your own tent.
    
    Please note, our 2-FOR-1 SPECIAL OFFER is only applicable when two people book and travel together on the same safari. No discounts are offered to solo travellers and Single Room are not available for booking due to the nature of this tour being a camping safari.

    Sadly, our local partners do not accept any travellers over the age of 80 on their overland tours. Given the nature of African safaris, they are unable to accept travellers aged 80 or above. Our overland camping safaris are active so you need to have a reasonable level of fitness and be active to enjoy the trip. For more mature travellers we highly recommend our Lodge Accommodated Safaris which provide a much higher level of comfort than our Overland Camping Safaris. So we won't be able to accept anyone over 80 on our Cape to Falls or any other overland safari tour.

  When is the best time to go?

    This tour covers a lot of ground between South Africa and Victoria Falls, but assuming you're most interested in seeing wildlife you can see our suggestions below:
    
    BOTSWANA:
    
    Recommended time to visit: April - October. This is Botswana's dry season, when the weather is at its most reliable.
    
    Less popular time to visit: November - April is the wet season, characterised by warm temperatures and short afternoon showers. Some safari lodges and camps close from December - April, so bear this in mind!
    
    Best time for wildlife: Game viewing is excellent in Botswana all year round. The dry season from April - October sees wildlife gather in greater densities at the diminishing water sources and sparser vegetation makes animals easier to spot. However, many animals give birth in the wet season, when food is more abundant. And the wet season is also good for spotting migratory bird species.
    
    Best time to visit the Okavango Delta: The water level is highest from June - October, great for canoeing. September - October are when Botswana is at its driest, and thirsty animals flock to the delta to drink.
    
    NAMIBIA:
    
    Recommended time to visit: May - October. This is Namibia's dry season, characterised by mild, dry days.
    
    Less popular time to visit: The wet season from November - April attracts fewer visitors, largely because the rain causes vegetation to grow, which can make wildlife harder to spot. Temperatures are also much hotter, but there are fewer crowds in parks such as Etosha.
    
    Best time for wildlife: May - October sees animals gathering around the few remaining water sources and there is less vegetation to obscure the view. Although the parks will be busier than in the wet season, they won't feel too crowded. July - November is the best time to spot Southern right, humpback and Minke whales off the coast.
    
    Best time for beaches: If you're heading to Swakopmund then there is very little chance of rain, whenever you travel. Temperatures are at their highest between January - June.

    Do you provide any discount if we require one room booking throughout trip for 2 Adults + 1 child. We only need 1 King Bed as child will co sleep. We do not need a triple room just a normal room is fine. What would be the total costs for 2 Adults + 1 Child (9 years) without extra bed? how much to pay upfront and how much to pay in cash when we arrive there?

    This is an overlanding tour - so this is camping and you will be in tents , so there wont be any rooms and $800pp paid in USD would be paid locally whilst on tour.

    - 14 Day Cape to Namibia (Tour ID: 93970) - however this tour does not include Victoria Falls.
    
    - 10 Day Namibia to Falls (Tour ID: 103636) - this tour includes Victoria Falls but starts in Namibia (does not include Cape Town/South Africa)

  Do the camp accomodations have private bathrooms? Do you accept Unionpay credit card for the payments? Do we need to bring mosquito nets with us? Can we buy bottled water at the campsites?

    We use two man dome tents with mosquito nets over the door and window areas, a sewn in ground sheet and a separate flysheet, which you share with a fellow traveller. If you're a camping novice, rest assured, the tents are very easy to put up and your trip leader will give you a demonstration. You will have to provide your own sleeping bag and remember a small pillow is always great for extra comfort. There is also the option to camp under the stars instead of in your tent on some occasions, just check with your Trip Leader to see when it is possible to do so.
    
    You will have opportunities to stop to buy bottled water and on tour you would need to open up your card for international travel - so aslong as its a visa/diners or master card it should not be a problem!

    The price for a solo traveler is $1735 for this tour. Please note that as this is an overlanding trip (with lots and lots of camping!!) we match travelers up with someone of the same gender to share a tent. Should there be no one to match you up with you will get your own tent!

    After much research, I was shocked to discover that a return flight Toronto to Cape Town is approximately $4700 Canadian. I had anticipated a cost around $2500. Unfortunately, I was nowhere close to the actual cost.

    I have flown from Vancouver to Cape Town a few times and the cost was closer to $1500 Canadian. I am curious if you have exhausted all research avenues for this as $4500 doesn't quite seem correct, especially as you're still over a month away!

  If we were to book this trip, we would be flying in from the USA. Therefore, am I correct we would want to arrive in Cape Town by the 21st? What time does the Trip depart on the 22nd? Also, am I also reading this correctly that this trip is currently on special and "2 for 1" is two people for the price of one?

    The first day is an arrival day, so you are welcome to arrive on the 22nd if that's easier for you. Lots of people do like to come in a day earlier and we can assist with pre-accommodation if you'd prefer to do that.
