Pyramids, Petra, Promised Land - 19 Days
Great value for all the amazing things we saw. Momo was absolutely amazing. He really enhanced our enjoyment of the experience in Egypt. I can't rate him high enough. "G" was also an amazing guide in Jordan. He was very caring of his group and very helpful. His insight was also helpful to our enjoyment of the trip. Israel was another story. Mahaer (sp) was not a good guide. He dropped us off at our hotel and said he'd see us in the morning. Leaving us with no explanation other than to go to Old Town. It was Rosh Hashanah, which was also problematic, so that on our free time we couldn't see anything since everything was closed. Our driver was on his cell phone, glancing down at the phone off the road (I have pictures). He provided minimal explanation and had to be prompted by others in our group to explain. Please reconsider using him again. This really detracted from our enjoyment of Israel. A good guide is everything. Also, consider rearranging tour days (arrivals) on Saturdays or during holidays. We feel like we missed so much because most stuff was closed. Thank you for a great time in Egypt and Jordan, not so much in Israel. Also the treatment of animals in Egypt was very disheartening. There has to be a way to put pressure on the Egyptian government to do something about this. It was 113 degrees and horses were excessively worked with no food or water to be seen. Stray dogs/cats everywhere. We were stealing rolls from breakfast to feed them because we felt so bad about the situation.

The tour began with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, and I was utterly awestruck by the sheer magnitude and beauty of the artifacts on display. One of the highlights of the tour was undoubtedly Valley of the Kings. The feeling of stepping back in time was otherworldly, and I was left in awe of the ancient Egyptians' craftsmanship and reverence for the afterlife.
Throughout the tour, the organization and expertise of Momo was commendable. His passion for Egypt's history and culture shone through their engaging narratives, providing valuable insights and answering all our questions with enthusiasm. Our Guide Momo was the most amazing, professional and kind man. He was a master at creating a sense of family with our group of 28 people. I have never wanted to do a tour before but wasn't confident I could navigate Egypt and Jordan with my friend with out some kind of help. I cam across an article about On the Go Tours and read up on some of their options. It sounded perfect! Plenty of hiking and adventure with time to relax and chill as well. We were on the go every day. We saw the Pyramids which was a life long dream of mine. The we saw Abu Simbel, Aswan, Luxor and so much more. We opted for the Bile River Cruise option and it was a blast. I loved the boat and the chance to hang out and rest as we traveled to out next destinations. There was so much to see and do that I want to come back again and spend more time in Luxor especially. We felt completely safe and well looked after and I can't say enough about Momo and the team at On The Go Tours. They really know what they are doing and I will definitely do another tour with them again the future. Then we went to Jordan and Petra blew my mind. What a gorgeous country. The Wadi Rum dessert was so magical and beautiful I could spend a week there and hope to again some day. We then went to the Dead Sea, what a trip that is. Make sure to hit the hot springs, it's all locals and it was really cool to get a chance to hang out with them and enjoy a local tradition. THANK YOU MOMO and thank you On the Go Tours for giving me the trip of a lifetime. I'll never forget the amazing people I got to travel with. What a sweet beautiful family we became : )

This trip to Egypt was just that.
I have wanted to travel to Egypt ever since I was a little girl, but this surpassed all my dreams and expectations!! The On-The-Go-Tours itinerary offered a wonderful and well-organised range of locations, loaded with so many breathtaking sights that it is literally impossible to choose a favourite! If you have even a passing interest in history you will be blown away, and the warm, genuine and welcoming locals will do the rest! Additionally, the On-The-Go-Tours representative team was professional, kind, and gave me the most cheerful and easiest experience I’ve ever had arriving at an international airport! The service was impeccable and thorough throughout the entirety of the trip.
Momo was beyond amazing as our main tour guide and a contagiously passionate Egyptologist! He is charismatic, endlessly engaging, gave the best local tips and advice, and was up-to-date with all the latest findings and research in Egyptology. I’ve written pages and pages of enthused notes on his speeches! The detail he included whilst guiding was extraordinary, and he has a gift of really bringing the stories and sites to life. And he absolutely made Egypt feel like home and really let the beauty and hospitality of its people shine! I recommend him most highly and would love to return to Egypt do a second (and third and fourth!) tour with him.
My fellow tour group members - affectionately called the Family - were an incredible collection of friendly, funny and warm-hearted people who were a delight to travel with (particularly as a solo traveler myself). The group size of ten was perfect, intimate and manageable. To me, Momo and the Family were as big a highlight as the gorgeous sights, rich and extraordinary history, and of course, the absolutely to die for cuisine and drinks (I personally recommend the fresh fruit juices which I will be dreaming about until I travel to Egypt again)! To top all of this off - I’ve never stayed in such beautiful hotels before! Each one had such a lovely atmosphere and amazing, attentive and wonderful staff. The rooms were super comfortable, and staying there felt like stepping back in time to a bygone era of luxury and style!
My first two days I spent on the tour was as a sole traveller to Alexandria and El Alamein - both beautiful and unique locations. Nash (the tour guide for these two days and another distinguished Egyptologist) and our amazing driver Hassan gave me an extremely personalised tour and they made the journey so comfortable and a complete delight! Before long they had me feeling like an archeologist - exploring the the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa and marvelling at the Citadel of Quaitbey, where the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. Our major stops in El Alamein were the war museum and cemetery - a deeply poignant experience not to be missed. Walking through the war cemetery by myself as I paid my respects was particularly moving and unforgettable.
Returning to the capital; on the third day I then took the optional Backstreets of Cairo walking tour - another big recommendation if you can do it, in order to experience the enticing and (comparatively) modern delights of the area! Medo was another passionate guide who so eloquently revealed the beauty of Islamic Cairo - particularly as we visited the elegant monuments of El Moez Street - and it was impossible not to fall in love with the city as we strolled along! That evening, I met Momo and the rest of the Family for our main tour brief, and from that moment the trip excelled impossibly higher!
Day 5 was the awe-inspiring Giza plateau (with the Great Pyramids, Sphinx, camel-riding and a fascinating trip to a genuine papyrus store all being one highlight after the other) and the Saqqara necropolis - where new finds were being uncovered as we were in the area, and where I got to enter the Djoser Step Pyramid completely by myself - just a mind-blowing experience I’ll never forget!! And day 6 brought much fascination as we hit The Egyptian Museum and National Museum of Egyptian Civilization - two of the best museums I’ve ever been to in terms of the care and quality of their collections! In particular, the Royal Mummies Hall in the latter was just unreal - fascinating to see such perfectly preserved pharaohs!
Travelling on the overnight sleeper train to the sparking city of Aswan was rather delightful fun, and upon our arrival we took a boat ride over to Philae Temple - dedicated to the goddess Isis - which remains one of my favourite sights of the trip. Hearing Momo breathe so much passion and intrigue into the story of Isis, Osiris, Seth and Nephthys whilst we stood before the grand facade of temple was so incredibly special, emotional and perfect!!
We closed this wonderful day with a spectacular visit to an essential oils and perfumes emporium
(Essence of Life Al Fayed Perfumes, Aswan)…. And personally, I will never buy any other perfumes ever again - such is the sheets quality and quantity of exquisite (and long-lasting) scents from this amazing establishment!!
Day 8 was another memorable day as we headed to the renowned Abu Simbel - again I don’t think I’ll ever forget the heart-stopping moment we rounded the corner to see the temples for the first time! All the photos and documentaries just don’t do it justice!!
Next was sailing and staying overnight on a felucca around Aswan - absolutely another highlight not to be missed and which I would highly recommend over the cruise option! The sleeping arrangements and amenities were extremely comfortable and are manageable/accommodating for many different ages and abilities. The crew was so hospitable, fun, and they cooked up some of the best meals I’ve ever had!! And being so physically close to the Nile (including swimming in it!) was a particularly special and spiritual experience…. Plus it was the best way to completely relax and catch some rays in the middle of our epic schedule!
From there we headed to breathtaking beauty of Luxor. The sheer majesty of the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings - where the hieroglyphics were so brilliant they almost appeared to have been painted yesterday - was enough to steal my heart and have me seriously considering an immediate, permanent move to the city. And again, Momo pulled out all the stops to make sure the trip was perfect for all of us - including making sure I got to see the magnificent Khonsu Temple within the Karnak complex, which was temporarily closed for visitors. I will be forever grateful for this, particularly for the help it will be for my studies!
Returning to Cairo to travel back home nearly broke my heart - I can tell I’ll be back as soon as I can! Egypt is a magnificent, safe, welcoming country with beautiful people, and I implore anyone who’s even considering a trip to book it right now! You won’t regret it - and I especially recommend planning your trip to coincide with the opening of the magnificent Grand Egyptian Museum later this year! Thank you On-The-Go-Tours, and especially Momo, for the trip of a lifetime! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the experience, and I really have made great friends and memories for life!

What an experience! One I will truly treasure and never forget. I was a bit worried about what Egypt would be like but it was better than I expected. I was a bit worried about what Egypt would be like but it was better than I expected. On the go and Mo Mo organize everything, so you don’t have to worry about accommodation or missing out on any of the sites. We saw so many sites from ancient times that were mind blowing. All the accommodation we stayed at were 4-5 star hotels. We did do the sleeper train which was an experience, but really not bad. The Nile Cruise was beautiful and very relaxing. Abu Simbel and the pyramids was definitely a highlight of mine. We also were taken to local stores where we could buy jewelry, perfume and alabaster.
The Red Sea was spectacular, a perfect way to end the tour by the beach. The resort that we stayed at was so nice.
MoMo was full of knowledge about all the sites we visited and explained things well.
Egypt is full of beautiful and happy people and some of the most beautiful sites! I’m so happy I booked this tour.

As an Egyptologist, MoMo took us through the beautiful historical sites of Egypt with passion and a depth of knowledge, teaching us so much about each site while making the entire trip a fun and exciting experience.
We loved every second of this tour, and were really impressed with the balance of historical and local Egypt, and the quality and organisation of transport and accommodation.
Our guide MoMo really made our tour special, bringing together the whole group with his knowledge of Egypt, always happy to answer any questions and help out in any way he can. He truly welcomed us to Egypt as a family and we were so lucky to have a guide with such passion for his work and that displayed kindness and understanding to each and every one of us.

The visits to the historic sites such as the Pyramids of Giza, the various temples of Luxor and Aswan, traditional egyptian cuisine and the cruise along the longest river in the world - the Nile, made this an experience we will cherish forever!

As a solo traveler it is always a concern of mine if I will get along with the other Travellers and also being the oldest in the group this was my other concern. Never at any time did I feel left out or not part of the group. We could not have asked for a better guide. Momo was the best. He treated us like a family the whole time and showed care and compassion. I would definitely go on another tour if he was the guide. I never at any time felt unsafe in Egypt in fact I felt very safe and 100% part of a family. I was never singled out because of my age but was accepted by all. I had some issues with my card during this trip but Momo took me under his wing and helped me and I did not feel humiliated during this stressful time. I got to see the pyramids in Giza and even rode a camel there as well. All aspects and expectations were met. I would highly recommend this trip to all. I did not do the extension of Jordan and Petra but wished I had as the photos look amazing. Momo also kept us on schedule, so we did not miss anything, and he always made sure we were all on the bus and accounted for before we moved onto our next stop. He was so informative about all of the sites we visited and did so with lots of humor and animation to keep our interest. I saw lots of exciting places like the Pyramids at Giza, Luxor by night and rode the sleeper train to Aswan. Also, we had a Nile River cruise and then we spent three luxurious nights of relaxation and sun at the Red Sea at Hurghada. I would go back to Egypt in a heartbeat especially if Momo was our guide again.

Festive Road to Jordan - 16 days
My husband and I just got home from an amazing trip to Egypt and Jordan with on The Go Tours. The tour was called Festive Road to Jordan. We cannot say enough good things about our Egypt portion tour …My husband and I just got home from an amazing trip to Egypt and Jordan with on The Go Tours. The tour was called Festive Road to Jordan. We cannot say enough good things about our Egypt portion tour guide Momo. He kept us on schedule so we could see everything and also gave us as much extra time as we wanted it places. Our group became Family! We have been on several other tours with other companies and it was by far the best. All aspects and expectations were met. We always felt safe and knew what the plan was when we were in Egypt. One example of how Momo went above and beyond was when we were in Hurghada on our Red Sea snorkeling tour. This was not an on the go tour but add on optional tour with a supplier. We did the first of what was supposed to be two snorkels and were then told the second would not be available. Disappointed we texted Momo and 15 minutes later the captain told us we were getting our second snorkel. Every hotel was clean with good food and friendly staff. The knowledge and enthusiasm Momo has for Egypt really makes a difference in the experience. He had us in interactive plays teaching us history and keeping us engaged. One thing I would say is to be sure, and bring lots of five Egyptian pounds for the toilet and your own tissue. We feel like we have a much better understanding of Egyptian culture and history after taking this tour. We had a great pre-day doing the back streets of Cairo with Shariff (spelling?) the crowds are energetic, busy and packed wall-to-wall, but you still feel safe and we had a great time bargaining. We rode the camels in front of the pyramids of Giza went inside a pyramid, the GEM was closed still but we did get to go to the old museum. Very interesting. We took the Nile cruise upgrade, which was absolutely amazing with great views of the Nile as we sailed down. We took a small boat to see Phelia temple, saw Abu Simbel, did Luxor at night, which was so much prettier than Luxor at day, and Karnak. We then flew to Ammon and spent a few days at Petra. One thing I would add be sure and bring a heavy coat, hat and gloves for Petra and Wadi Rum. There was a lot of rain and fog at Petra so we missed our second night because they closed the trail. We did get a full day at Petra and hiked up the 950-ish steps to the monastery. There were amazing views along the way. The transportation to Wadi Rum did not look very inviting at first being benches in the back of pick up trucks but they were actually very comfortable and a lot of fun. Wadi Rum night luxury camp was our home for one night. They told us this was the first time they were using this camp. I would highly recommend it absolutely Glamping then onto the Dead Sea. Some of the longer bus rides we caught up on sleep learned things about the country and got to see some great scenery. We will definitely do this trip again.

Momo was a very knowledgeable guide who gave us interesting historical facts and stories on every site. Egypt is a fascinating place well worth a visit and extremely safe. I recommend this tour and it’s a must on your bucket list!

In addition to the fantastic sites, our tour guide Momo tour guide had vast amounts of information and history to share at each site which was invaluable due to a lack of signage at some sites. He never failed to make us laugh and kept the mood of the group high throughout the whole tour

Contrary to what you have heard, we felt so safe in Egypt. The highlight of the trip was our guide, Momo. I hesitate to call him a guide, he was so much more than that – he was our leader, our teacher, our friend, our advisor. His knowledge was extensive – he was never stumped with the questions we constantly asked. He encouraged us and helped us with all requests – he flawlessly guided us through the sites, shopping , transportation and food experiences. He was professional and made everyone in the large diverse group of 26 feel part of all aspects of the tour. He always tried to make it more enjoyable for us – leaving early or changing the schedule to beat the crowds and the heat. He was simply the best. I would (and have) recommended him to my friends travelling to Egypt.

It was a very memorable experience and a dream come true for my husband and I. We were lucky that our assigned guide was Momo, who was extremely well organized, kept us informed and consistently made sure we were well taken care of at all times; even going out of his way to make sure people who were feeling a little under the weather, got medicine at the local pharmacy. Momo made the ruins, temples, and history come alive with his extensive knowledge, for he is a well-educated and certified Egyptologist! We felt so privileged to have him as a guide! I saw King Ramses II, Queen Nefartari and all the historical figures come alive through Momo's descriptive words, theatrical skits, and great sense of humor!
Momo's personality and professionalism allowed us to feel comfortable and encouraged us to become like a family with our group. Wow! I cannot even adequately express what an amazing and awe-inspiring trip this was! Credit for that goes to the best tour guide we could have hoped for. MoMo was always organized and on top of everything we should (or should not) be doing. His constant communication with us made me feel much more comfortable while traveling to new places.
It was my first experience being part of a tour group and I was so thankful to be part of such a beautiful, fun loving, caring group of people. By the end of our trip, we truly felt like ‘Family’!
MoMo encouraged us to help each other and look out for each other in the same way that he did. His treatment of us as family made us grow closer as a group and that made the trip even more enjoyable.
But more than that, MoMo’s knowledge and passion for the history and country of Egypt and his eagerness to share that with the group made us in turn, eager and excited to learn. Secondly, the itinerary offered by On the Go was perfect - it was packed with all the main attractions, it covered long distances in an organized, fuss-free manner, it offered many optional extras yet still managed to give us some free time to socialize, recharge and explore on our own. Lastly, but most definitely not least, we had the ultimate privilege of being guided by Momo and I couldn’t speak highly enough of him. Our experience would not have been the same without him and he definitely was the icing on the cake. Momo was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and passionate about his country and it’s history. He patiently explained the sights we were seeing in enough detail to provide context, awe and appreciation (without overloading us) and his excitement was contagious. This tour was to celebrate my wife’s birthday and I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to get her a cake for her birthday. He made it possible to get her a cake 5,000 miles from home. MoMo is very knowledgeable about all things Egypt and I am more informed than I would’ve been without his guidance. The negative parts were the sleeper train. This train was terrible in almost every way. The cars are small, dirty and loud! The train stops harshly often and getting a good nights rest is impossible. One more word of caution, smoking is prevalent in Egypt. We are from America where smoking in public places is illegal. Be ready to endure smoking almost everywhere. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would highly recommend taking this tour.

The entire trip was organized and well planned out. Our guide Momo was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire trip as well. It was obvious that he was excited to teach us about the Egyptian history, which we appreciated, and that he has many years of experience. He was great at explaining the history and details of everything we saw and learned. Momo was also very helpful when exchanging money from other currencies and gave great advice for purchases and recommendations on other sights to see along the way.
As a whole, we feel that On the Go, and our guide Momo, covered the highlights of Egypt and what we had been looking to see and experience. We could not have asked for a better 10 days in Egypt on our first mother-daughter trip. We will never forget the incredible people we met and the spectacular sights we visited.

He has many years of experience and a vast knowledge and we were grateful for him passing on some of that knowledge during our visits to the Pyramids, temples and museums. He engaged our group and held our focus during the ten days we were with him. We felt well looked after and it was clear he was going above and beyond to ensure we had a good time. His sense of humour made me smile and I was honestly sad to leave him in Egypt. Momo made sure we were up and out early to miss the crowds and heat of the afternoon. Our tour with Momo and On the Go went smoothly from the transport, checking into hotels, entering the places of interest and visiting some of the local businesses.
It has been a trip I will remember forever (for all the right reasons) and it has inspired me to carry on learning about ancient Egypt. Thank you Momo. You’re a legend and I’ll miss you.

I joined the tour as a solo traveller and was a bit anxious about arriving at the airport. The OTG rep met me at arrivals and got me through immigration and customs in record time. When it was time to leave Egypt for Jordan, an OTG rep was also there to help us transfer through Cairo airport.
The itinerary was packed and each experience was more magical than the next. The pyramids and temples are beyond anything you imagined and will leave you in awe. The hotels were great and our buses were comfortable and always stocked with water. A night on the sleeper train was an experience! but better than what you would expect. It was old and bumpy but I was able to get to sleep and the staff were great. The nights that follow, on the Nile cruise are a perfect contrast and chance to reset.
Our tour guide Momo was amazing! He is very knowledgeable, patient and engaging - delivering bulk facts with the perfect combination of humour. He ensured we all felt safe and included, and made the tour unforgettable. His passion for his job and local knowledge is second to none, he ensured we got the best out of everywhere and would sometimes rearrange timing of the itinerary to make sure we avoided the crowds or the heat.
Momo was the best! We were so lucky to have him, make sure you request him!
The highlight for me was the people of Egypt. Our guide, the accommodations staff and the vendors in the street etc - they are all so so friendly, colourful and accommodating.
I felt completely safe and cared for at all times thanks to Momo and OTG, which is very important as a solo female traveller.
If you’ve always considered Egypt - now is the time to do it!!

Throughout the tour he showed deep knowledge of the history and beliefs of the ancient Egyptians monarchs and people. He made it possible for us to link all the historic sites, from the great pyramids to the Nubian Philae temple. He was able to interpret site paintings and hieroglyphics for us to make sense of the tour.

I was nervous at first to come out here but after arriving and finding nothing but friendly faces willing to help me, I quickly realized my assumptions of Egypt were wrong. The people here show nothing but love. I toured up and down Egypt visiting Cairo, Abu Simbel, Aswan and Luxor and found the same vibes everywhere. This Country has lots to offer with unique places and opportunities to adventure. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a developing country but the people here know what they want and are working towards a brighter future. This is certainly a unique time to visit an extremely unique place. Highly recommend it!

This tour definitely lived up to my expectation and then some. Like other tours, let’s be honest, there is a reason that On the go is simply just that. The pace is fast to ensure you see as much as possible, but for that reason you don’t complain. If your looking for a relaxing, slow and plenty of sleep ins, then this is not the tour for you. But if your wanting a tour that will get you up early in the morning to avoid the heat, to get you to all the landmarks with little crowds (so you can take those fabulous pictures) and immerse you in all things cultural, then this is the tour for you! I specifically did the Pyramids to Petra tour, where I got to see both Egypt and Jordan. I can’t express to you how different both these countries are given how close they are to each other. Egypt is full of history, hustle and bustle and sheer jaw dropping moments, where as Jordan is much more cosmopolitan, easy paced and “pretty”.
EGYPT GUIDE:
Mohamed Saiid (Momo) is one in a million. Having travelled the world and been with many guides before, I cannot rate him highly enough. The passion, expertise and stories that Momo has about Egypt and its history is phenomenal. You can’t help but get excited for every new place we saw, his energy really does become addictive and hard not to follow. Where Momo differed from many other tour guides is that he did not just regurgitate the important information we needed to know about the history, but made it exciting, informative and relatable. He was always “on point.” He bought life to his story telling and we would often find other tourist listening to his stories to see why we were so engaged and laughing along with him. If you are ever lucky enough to be on a tour with Momo, you will have the most amazing trip and experience ever.
OUR GROUP: One thing I loved about this tour is that they put a few different tours together. So you pick up people and drop off people at different points throughout the tour. The one thing I found exceptional is that On the go was accommodating at every point. For example some people on our group went to another destination for a few days but then joined back up with us. On the Go were great in ensuring that they joined the original group and didn’t join another group travelling at the same time through our request. I truly believe that the group that you travel with on tour can defiantly make your trip and through the enthusiasm of our tour leader, we definitely became a family by the end of the tour, with some long lasting friendships being formed.
SAFETY: At no point in Egypt or Jordan did I feel unsafe, no matter what the media has portrayed to our Western Countries. Both guides were always extremely informative as to where which ATMs we could use to get cash out in, where we should and shouldn’t go and also was conscious of us as a group no matter where we went. I’m not going to lie, with countries that are so dependent on Tourism, you will be hassled in the markets, however if you are firm and polite, they seem to understand the message. Like anyone in the world, they need to make a living also, but even as much as they hustled you, I never felt unsafe or found myself in a situation where I felt uncomfortable.
LANDMARKS: When I originally made the booking, I tacked on Egypt as an extension to my Jordan tour. Now that I have finished my tour I’m so glad I did. The sheer size of the temples and landmarks is gob smacking. To then find out that majority of these temples were moved over time with such precision is mind blowing. There is one thing to see a picture of the Pyramids or Abu sambal, but to stand next to them is next level. I can defiantly see the attraction to this region and I’m sure I will be back.

To suggesting the yummiest restaurants to go to, to getting us the best deal on souvenirs, to getting us to the sights early before they got busy, to making sure I was taken care of when I wasn’t feeling well, we could not have gotten better service from him. His sense of humour was an added bonus and he was super patient with all of our questions which I’m sure he’s answered a million times over the years. You cannot have a superior guide than Momo!

It was fantastic, one of the most amazing trips I have ever experienced. All I can say – “Everyone should visit and experience what the 'real' Egypt has to offer”.
This tour offers all you need to see 'real' Egypt. It includes all transportation through Egypt - from camel rides, bus rides, the night train from Cairo to Aswan, Felucca, sailing on the Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor and water boat rides on Nile river and a flight from Luxor to Cairo.
If you are interested in archaeology, history, local experiences and photography, I strongly recommend this tour. You will visit significant landmark places at each destination, including the Pyramids & Sphinx, the Nile River, the Egyptian Museum as well as testing some local dishes, visiting a local market or two and shopping and there is so much more.
Also, I loved the optional tours to the Philae temple and Abu Simbal temple. I am so glad that I did not miss these. It was just fascinating! I am so fortunate to have experienced such an amazing place!
I enjoyed the local food and had fun watching an Egyptian lady making some of their local bread. I also got a chance to sit down with the locals and try their local BBQ. So delicious.
Favourite bits: The felucca sailing experience on the Nile - watching the sunrise & sunset and sleeping under the stars just like the ancient Nubian sailed on the Nile river thousands of years before me. It was so romantic, and I stood watching as the world went by, I was speechless.
Favourite food was had from the Nubian style dinner table – such fresh ingredients, super healthy and really delicious.
The hotels/accommodation was well located right in front of the Nile River. Having breakfast, looking over the Nile River and the Pyramids was such a cool experience. I had to pinch myself.
Sleeping on the Night Train was comfy and waking up to see the rising sun was awesome even though I was super tired. Experiencing my first real mirage was cool too.
Felucca Sailing on board was a magical experience.

The professional and thorough On The Go Tours service began from the moment we arrived right up until departure. The airport service was exceptional, particularly to skip the long queues.
Moving around on tour everything was always very efficient and informative. We got a great feel for each place that we visited with complete knowledge of the historic sites while also experiencing the locals and their livelihood.

This is the second time that my husband & I visited Egypt (previously done Sunchaser tour in Feb 2018) with our previous knowledgeable Egyptologist Alam Mido.
My husband & I was disappointed at first when OTG & our previous tour guide Alam could not guarantee that we will have Alam again as tour leader. OTG & Alam assured us that we will have a very knowledgeable Egyptologist & that we will be in their very capable hands. After seeing & meeting our new tour guide/leader Mohamed Saiid (aka Momo) we all knew we are in good hands.
Momo is a very knowledgeable, experienced Egyptologist which is passionate about Ancient Egypt & Egypt's history, their people & culture.

Momo our tour guide was excellent. He really helped to bring the history alive. He went over and above what was expected and gave us the opportunity to experience the real Egypt. Nothing was too much trouble for Momo. He really helped our group to gel which added to our overall enjoyment of our holiday. We ended our holiday saying goodbye to new friends, Momo being one of them.

We did so much on the tour and had a few days in the middle to relax. Our Tour Guide, Momo was really good, he went above and beyond to cater for everyone's needs and did a great job of making everyone feel like they were part of a family. I was ill during the second day and he kept checking on me until I felt better and I appreciated that greatly. He was very knowledgeable about Ancient Egypt and the economical/social history of the country. The sites were incredible and well worth the visit, the heat can be unbearable, but the Tour Guide keeps this in mind when arranging the visits. Momo had a great sense of humour and used this to teach us about the Kings and Pharaohs helping us to retain this knowledge and not just leave it behind in Egypt. The Sleeper Train was another great experience and the coaches that transferred between the cities were to a very high standard. Be prepared for the heat, keep snacks & drinks on you at all times, and bringing medication is a must. The WiFi in the hotels are not great, but the friendships you make during the trip who are part of 'The Family' is more important.

I have just completed the On the Go tour in Egypt and I just have to say that going to Egypt has been a dream of mine and I have wanted to go there for many years however; many said it was “not safe.” I want to let everyone know that I have travelled to a lot of countries over the years and I have never felt as safe as in Egypt. We were met at the airport by Emile our OTG rep and Saiid also took us quickly and efficiently through customs. Our Tour guide, MoMo is a very knowledgeable expert and he provided interesting historical information before and during our excursions which made walking around the ancient sites even more rewarding as you could understand more of their histories. He is a very passionate man who clearly loves his heritage. MoMo meticulously arranged each day for us by providing wake up calls, times for check outs and transportation. He had a large group of us but made sure all our needs were met each day. He was very kind, patient, and made sure we all had a good time. The Egyptian people were very friendly and I loved every minute of our adventure. MoMo made us all feel very safe and well looked after. Thanks MoMo. So if there is anyone , like me, who dreams of Egypt, my advice is to go and go now, you won’t be disappointed.

W…I have used onthego tours before and had a great time, so a friend and I decided to go on the Egypt essentials tour. We had a fantastic 10 days, going from Cairo to Luxor to Aswan and back to cairo. We had lovely reps meeting us at the airport and the hotel and transferring us back to the airport. The whole tour was well organised and packed with so many wonderful sights. Our tour guide Momo was brilliant, I was impressed by his knowledge of ancient Egypt and of the country as a whole. He was funny, enthusiastic and very passionate about his job. He made sure the whole group was happy, asking us at each location how much time we wanted to look around, told us funny stories about the ancient Egyptians, he offered us options for meals and was able to answer all my questions and help whenever we needed it. He even brought the whole group mango juice, which was the least I expected. It’s a shame he isn’t able to do tours in other countries as I would definitely love to have him guide us on other onthego tours in different countries. My only issue with the whole trip was the lack of wifi in the hotel rooms. Egypt is an amazing country with so many amazing people. I have made some fantastic lifelong friends and really do miss the ‘Family’ Momo created. Cant wait for the next trip with onthego.

I think he did extremely well to cater to everyones needs while still making sure we got to see and do everything and no one felt like they missed out.
As a female, I admit I was nervous about coming, but being part of a group with a local leader who speaks the language and was open and honest took away any major concerns I might have had.

Me and my sister (who are blonde, blue/green eyes and very fair) both felt safe the entire time in Egypt. We went to markets, went out for food and explored the area on our own with out a problem.
The tour wouldn't have been the same without our Tour guide. Momo really made the tour, he is passionate about Egypt and it's history. Anything we needed on the tour he would sort it out or organise it for the 'family'. We went out most nights for family dinners, had shisha, went to the movies, had dinner downtown and the marina in Hurghada.

Momo did an amazing job helping us enact each day on different site exploring Egypt, as if we were apart of the Greek and Roman Era. Momo was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a detailed explanation of every site, he helped us experience some cool night spots and shopping outlets. On the go is an extremely professional company, with excellent organisation. I will definitely visit Egypt again with On the go tours again. There's just so much, I can go into, however it was a trip with just the perfect people in our family and Daddy (Momo), leading us was the cherry on the top. I've being impacted for life by Egypt.

Egypt has always been at the top of my list to travel too but every time I went to travel there were warnings etc. I can honestly say that I have never felt more safe and lo…Life changing experience! Egypt has always been at the top of my list to travel too but every time I went to travel there were warnings etc. I can honestly say that I have never felt more safe and looked after then I did with on the go. But most importantly I don’t believe that it would have been as amazing without our guide Momo. His passion for his country and its history flows through in every story and every place visited. His knowledge mixed in with his quick wit and humour meant that he catered so easily to the varying ages on our tour (26-83year olds). He was always on point, making sure we were always safe and not getting swindled by people in the marketplace/shops selling items for well above what they were worth or not authentic items. (It’s not their fault they are just trying to make a living)
Some of the biggest highlights were outside of the “planned itinerary”, Momo’s local knowledge and relationships meant that we were able to eat at superb establishments that we would not have found on our own and also visit places in our free time that would not have been possible without his assistance and in his own free time.
During our tour we experienced unusually hot weather for the time of year so at times within our group there was a bit of friction due to heat fatigue, Momo excelled at diffusing tension and had a way of reminding us that although it was bloody hot, it was worth every second in the heat to see the highlights he’s chosen for us. He was always very wary to point out things like bathrooms and places to purchase cold drinks and telling us how long or far until we see another place to do so. His attention to detail and care for all of the people on the tour was above and beyond what should have been expected of him. This tour was great... but without Momo it would not have been AMAZING!
Hands down best guided tour I have ever experienced, Momo is truly a credit to his country, egyotologists and an asset to on the go tours. I could not thank him enough for making our tour so special. Ps he is also an accomplished paparazzi/ impromptu photographer for all those pictures to make people at home jealous.

Everyone we came in contact with was very kind, efficient and friendly. We visited the most incredible sights one can imagine ( imposing Giza Pyramids and Sphinx, majestic Temples and mind blowing tombs in the Valley of the Kings). Momo also organised for us trips to local restaurants and cafes, lively local markets and workshops (perfume factory and alabaster factory). It was really fun to mingle with the locals, visit local shops and to buy locally made beautiful souvenirs. Cruising the Nile and admiring the stunning scenery of the Nile banks was the most relaxing and luxurious experience. Throughout the whole trip, we felt very safe and very well looked after. It was simply a dream come true trip. In fact it was even better than a dream. Momo's wealth of knowledge of ancient Egypt's history, his passion and desire to introduce us to this fascinating ancient world but also his attentive nature and great sense of humour are second to none. He is simply the best. The trip was fantastic but Momo made it fabulous for all of us. We all fell in love with this magical country and we will definitely come back.again. It becomes clear very early on that he has a genuine passion and pure love for his country and its history. Funny, knowledgeable, engaging and a stallion of man I could not recommend anyone else. The tour is very well organised and from the moment you arrive at the airport everything is very well thought through.
Our tour began in Cairo taking us to Aswan, Luxor, Hurghada and then back to Cairo. There is simply too much to say but for those looking for the full experience I would really recommend this tour. The pyraminds of Giza, Abu Simbel, The river Nile are just a few of the breathtaking places we visited. The tours are packed with stops at many different temples, museums and plenty of opportunities to eat at local restaurants and to get a real taste of Egypt in the bustling markets. Momo knows his country and was always there to recommend the best places to pick up desirable purchases and souvenirs. He really went above and beyond and was happy to spend time with us after the tours to show around and to enjoy meals together as a family. I will never forget Egypt and despite how in awe I am of Egypt, the beautiful people and the incredible history Momo definitely made this tour feel complete. Aswan was one of my favourite cities on this tour by far. The friendly people and calming atmosphere gave me a very special feeling that I cant describe. Abu Simbel is a must when visiting Aswan. The temple is so special that you really have to see it for yourself to appreciate its beauty and history. Momo goes into a lot of depth of the ancient history and is always happy to answer any questions that we have. I am leaving Egypt with not only lots of knowledge but a little family I can stay in contact with no matter the distance.
Everyone that we met who worked with the On The Go Tour were very hospitable and kind. I would 100% recommend Momo as a tour guide for anyone looking for a special and unforgettable experience of Egypt. Thank you !!

Everything was structured in a way that would help us to remember and truly enjoy our experience. Momo continually went above and beyond ensuring constantly that we were happy, even organising excursions for us on free days. He often organised transportation so we could go into town or just exploring in general! Egypt was an experience I’ll never forget and thanks to Momo the whole group left with lifelong friends. He really has a way of bringing people together at the same time as passing on his wealth of knowledge! Absolutely amazing and one happy traveler!

We visited many famous sites such as Pyramids of Giza, Philae Temple, Hatshepsut Temple, as well as lesser known Sobek/Horus temple (also known as the crocodile temple). Abu Simble was an optional extra. In my opinion, it was worth that extra money. Followed by 4 days in relaxing yet vibrant Hurghada where I enjoyed their sunny beach and other extra activities. Except for inevitable shopping stops which were not as attractive to a solo male traveler like me, I can attest this tour gave me an informative and refreshing vacation. Thanks very much MOMO! I will surely contact you if I come to Egypt again!

The Felucca and Red Sea tour was run by Momo and there were 14 of us from all different countries. It was an action packed first couple of days, with tours to the pyramids, the bazaar, papyrus museum etc but it was well coordinated and we had plenty of opportunities to get water, snacks etc. The bus was air conditioned and Momo was great at giving us a heads up on the toilet situations - all of which were standard western toilets (so no need to be afraid of having to use a squat loo!!). Going inside a pyramid was one of the highlights of the trip!! I was a bit nervous about the climb into it but it was ok. Most of the walk down was bent over and walking sideways, but there are hand rails and a few places where you can stand up. There isnt too much to see inside, but just the fact that you are standing in one of the greatest wonders of the world is pretty amazing!!!
My next highlight was the Valley of the Kings. Spectacular is all i can say about it. We had plenty of time to explore 3 chambers, but honestly, i could have spent all day there. I wish we could have gone to the valley of the queens as well though - guess I'll just have to come back again!
My last highlight of the trip was the felucca ride. The feluccas had been upgraded since my last visit and included a toilet and roof. Which was a great improvement! No stress about where to go to the bathroom. We all had the best time sailing, chatting, laughing, swimming in the nile and star gazing. Food was simple - falafel, eggs, fruit, potatoes, chicken, kebabs, pita bread etc. Water and soft drinks could be purchased at a pretty cheap price too.
The hotels were standard and had air con but there were some issues with the wifi.
Momo was an awesome tour guide, who went above and beyond. He was the guide and sorted out all sorts of things, but he also took the time to interact with us and have fun. He used humour in the way he told us about the ancient egyptian ways, and kept everyone's attention - which can be hard on group tours! I think we'll all remember many of the interesting facts about ancient egypt that Momo shared with us for a long time. Momo was also able to show us just how friendly and safe Egypt actually is.
Overall, i had a really really great trip and cant wait to come back! Anyone contemplating coming to Egypt should just book it!

And i can’t imagine having chosen to go anywhere else and missed seeing this beautiful country with the most compassionate people.
First of all I want to say that ON the Go Tours egypt has created an award winning tour in Egypt, everything and I mean everything was just absolutely perfect, safe and always packed with incredible learning, seeing and enjoying. The hashtag you might have seen around the Internet #egyptissafe needs to be shouted from all corners of the world. Egypt is safe. Everywhere we went we were greeted with kindness, helpfulness and a lot of wonderful humour from the people of Egypt. It would be a shame to miss this incredible ancient world wonder simply because we are listening to the media and not those from first hand knowledge and experience. It was incredibly humbling seeing people living with the most kindred spirit of nature right beside the most incredible ancient architecture and the stories that come with it. What a dream for someone, like me, from a different culture to be able to experience. We must get to know the rest of this beautiful world we live in and the people that are our neighbours.
But the person who made this trip something that we will all remember for the rest of our lives was our Egyptologist Momo. Momo went absolutely above and beyond for all of us. Gathering all of us safely, making sure everyone was always where they needed to be, making sure we are all getting the most and best of our experience by accommodating every comment, question or concern and making us laugh the Entire time! He made the stops we needed, he explained everything with so much care about how to properly buy gifts while in Egypt, he took us to some incredible local spots that we wouldn’t have experienced without him. There is nothing that Momo does not know about his country. And there is nothing that he isn’t so passionately eager to share about the country he loves so much so that we can all see the magic of Egypt. It’s been a month since we’ve been back and I’m still re watching the videos I took of his lessons.We were seriously so blessed to have Momo, I can’t imagine the trip with out him and we were all so sad to finish the trip. But alas! Now we know where to come back to :)
Just a note about getting to and from sites/temples...the bus is great, air conditioned and really quite comfortable. No issues there! The hotels were great and accommodating to our early get ups times regarding food and basically anything we needed to prepare for our excursions.
The itinerary!!! Oh my!!! This is a pretty active trip, with a lot of options for rest. Walking through these ancient wonders brought on so many visceral experiences, We were up and seeing something new almost everyday. The itinerary was so smoothly put together with days off every 4/5 excursion days. But the most important thing is how everything was planned and laid out timing wise. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Really and truly.
Some highlights! Temple phillae, wow. This incredible structure is mesmerizing. You can feel this incredible energy of peace surrounding you while you explore this temple on a island filled with these tiny cats! Natures feminine touch to this incredibly loving temple.
Karnak temple was a glorious site. Walking around with so so much to see, every corner you turn there’s a new structure, new form, new perspective to see. I felt incredibly blessed to see architecture with a purpose
For the human spirit, to draw actual emotion just simple from being in this sacred space.
The Felucca sailing experience option is something that is a must! It is so so unique to experience this while in Egypt! You will never see and feel the Nile River in a more unique way. Just breathtaking. Momo took us to meet a group of beautiful Nubian people who welcomed us so warmly on the felucca. We sailed the Nile River during the day, parked in the most incredible spots for eating and swimming, had such an incredibly bonding experience with the group. Literally memories that will last a lifetime. We were cooked such delicious food, had time to visit a Nubian village, had the blessing of talking and communicating to a group of people who have been living in this spirit of nature you see in Egypt for as long as the beautiful temples have stood. Thank you to On the Go Tours and Momo for adding this not to be missed experience to the itinerary. I will never forget this :)
To finish this review I just want to say that this experience in Egypt will be in my heart for as long as I live. Not only that but I will be visiting Egypt again very very soon and I couldn’t imagine spending a second visit with anyone other than On The Go Tours and Momo ❤️

So in June 2019 I returned to Egypt with 20 people so that I could show off my favourite country, I organised a tailor-made itinerary with On The Go and was blessed to have Momo again. Everything flowed seamlessly, it was well-organised, well-structured and full of new and wonderful surprises. Momo is an absolute legend at his craft - they say if you love your job you'll never work a day in your life and this is so true of him. Our tour took us to the major attractions which were wonderful, but we also got to enjoy our guide's personal favourites as his passion and knowledge for Egypt and the Pharonic age always shone through and resulted in the group seeing some of the lesser known but just as wonderful sights and locations in Egypt. I personally enjoyed the oppertunities to learn about the producers of some of Egypt's most famous offerings; papyrus and essential oil. I appreciated having the opportunity to support families and practice responsible/ethical tourism and learn more about Egypt's current culture. For those looking for an educational, connective and enjoyable Egypt trip, Momo is your man.

We did the 19days tour around the Pyramids, Petra and the Promised Land and i honestly don’t know where to begin with my review, it’s been such a wonderful trip!

First off, we spent 10 days in Egypt and it exceeded all my expectations!! Egypt’s my favorite part of the trip. We had Mohammad/ “Momo” as our tour guide and i’m pretty sure he’s a big part as to why Egypt became my fave part of the trip. I’ve been to many group tours before and had met a lot of tour guides, but Momo became one of my favorites!! (There’s only two btw. Haha) I loved visiting all the Pyramids, being able to ride in a Camel, seeing all the tombs, temples and mummies! We did the 2-day Felucca, sailing around the Nile River. And it was so much fun! We sailed around the Nile during the day then docked at night time. We jumped off of our boat then swam into the Nile river. It happened to be my birthday when we were sailing in the Nile. And I was so surprised when they managed to get me a cake, they sang and danced for my birthday. I’ve met diff people on this tour and we became like family, being Momo as our Daddy. Haha! You can tell that Momo’s not doing what he’s doing just because it’s his job or because it’s what’s expected of him. He does what he does because he’s got so much love for his country. And he made us fall in love with Egypt as well! Sadly we had to say goodbye to him as we continue on our trip to Jordan.
Jordan was amazing, we went to Petra by Night, it was magical. Then we walked the following day to see the Red Rose City of Jordan during the daylight. It was surely deserving to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We head over the Wadi Rum desert, rode on a 4x4, saw sand dunes and beautiful rock formations. We spent the night in a rainbow camp, cutest camp site i’ve been. Had a bedouin dinner, watched the sunset then sang and dance with the locals. Wadi Mujib was one of my faves as well, we went canyoneering and chased waterfalls. Dead Sea lived up to it’s hype as well!
Israel, was my least favorite. Probably because the tour wasn’t as organized as the first two countries. We arrived to our hotel at 1pm but was unable to check into our hotel til past 9pm as it was Sabbath. I wished On The Go made an arrangement to leave Jordan later that day instead of just being dumped with no place to stay. There was no representative who met us in the airport, only the guide who was subcontracted that day. Drove us to our hotel and left. We could’ve stayed in Jordan by the Dead Sea and left after lunch instead of us getting lost in Israel. Literally getting lost by the way, cos the guide left without giving us recommendations, or even the nearest bank or atm. We had to figure it out on our own. And that wasn’t easy as it was Sabbath and the streets were empty.
Despite all the mishaps, it was a fun and memorable trip as the people I’ve went with made it an amazing journey! I would def recommend doing the Egypt and Jordan tour. You’ll be very lucky if you get Momo as your guide!!! And maybe just do the Israel part by on your own. Cos that’s how we felt in Israel anyway, that we paid for a guided tour but didn’t get what we paid for.

Going above his expected duties he jumped off feluccas into the Nile with us, took us to local restaurants, shared coffee and shisha with us, and created amazing memories. It was more than just a on the go tour, we all became family. If anyone is thinking about travelling to Egypt i couldnt recommend this tour enough. I would be happy to bring friends and do it again!

I went on the King Ramses ll tour with On The Go and my trip exceeded all of my expectations. It was the first time I had travelled as a solo. I flew in to Cairo a day early as I had added the Alexandria Day trip to my itinerary. I was met at the airport by an OTG Representative who assisted with a quick and efficient move through customs, into the transport and checked into the hotel. If you have the time, definitely go to Alexandria.
Our tour guide was Momo, He was brilliant. He made all of the people in the group feel a part of his "Family". He was a wealth of knowledge as he is a qualified Egyptologist and he is extremely passionate about his country and it's history. In saying that, he was highly entertaining when explaining things to us and possessed a great sense of humour. The pyramids, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Luxor, too many sites to mention, did not disappoint, it was all amazing. I upgraded to the Nile cruise and it was fantastic! The food, the rooms, the staff were all great. I stayed at Hurghada (at the Red Sea) as part of the tour and it was great to relax by the pool and / or beach. There were optional activities such as snorkelling, diving and quadbikes to name a few. I did the full day snorkelling trip, the highlight of the day was a pod of about 6 dolphins swimming next to our boat.
The tour was extremely well organised with a great group of people and I have made some new friendships that will last through the years.

Egypt is spectacular and surpassed our expectations in all aspects. To visit the Great pyramids, the Sphinx, Abu Simbel, the Temple Philae and all the other monuments was a lifelong dream fulfilled.
Our wonderful guide Momo with his depth of knowledge , brought the history to life for us with passion and humour. In his charismatic way he managed to create a special bond within our group and we actually felt like a little family.
As well as visiting the sights another highlight was a dreamy 3 night cruise on the Nile .The food on board was excellent and the boat elegant and comfortable.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is considering visiting Egypt. We felt safe and cared for at all times and the entire team were consummate professionals.
The Egyptian people are warm and generous but the best was our wonderful guide. Thank you Momo! ( Also a special mention to the huge hearted Amir, who felt our pain when our luggage didn’t arrive with us and went above and beyond to reunite us with it)

We also spent time aboard a 5 star Nile Cruiser and 3 days relaxing at a resort on the Red Sea. On The Go was very organized for airport transfers, hotel check in's and providing general information. By far the highlight of our trip was our fabulous tour guide Momo! He had a unique way to simplify some of the more complicated stories/facts about the relationships of the pharaohs and their gods. His easy going humorous nature made us feel like "family". Momo's passion for Egyptian history brought it to life for us. Our 'family' blended well and firm friendships were made. Momo was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable, personable and friendly. Our tour coincided with Ramandan which meant that Momo could not eat or drink during the day. Pretty tough on him.
The weather was hot, but bottled water was in plentiful supply and was needed. The tourist sites and hotels were clean and safe. All accommodation and transportation was excellent.
The tour began and ended in Cairo and included many of the places that symbolise Egypt. The pyramids at Giza and Saqqara were magnificent and being able to go inside one of them through a tunnel was exciting. A camel ride on the Sahara was great. We visited a papyrus factory and were able to purchase one at a reasonable cost. Aswan and a visit to the Temple at Philae. Beautiful and tranquil. An early morning start (3am) to Abu Simbel (an add-on) was well worth it. It was awe inspiring. Especially when you see how they moved the whole site so that it would not be flooded by the rising waters of the Aswan Dam. The precision of the building is astounding. Onto a 3 day cruise on the Nile on the 'Medea". Excellent. While on the cruise we began by visiting Kom Ombo and Aswan. The visit to the Valley of the Kings included entrance to three tombs. The highlight for us was the tomb of Rameses III which we found both beautiful and very moving. The temple of Hatshepsut at a different site is an architectural wonder.
The Temple at Luxor at night is a feast for the eyes. The avenue of 1200 sphinxes to the temple complex at Karnack (distance of over 2 kms) and then the complex itself was magnificent. The silver shop and the alabaster shop gave opportunities to purchase some artefacts. In our case an antique scarab piece and a silver cartouche with my name on it.
Back in Cairo, the last day was a visit to the Egyptian Museum. Well worth spending the time.
Special mention for the pickup and drop off at the airport. That was exceptional.
Thank you to the group and to Momo for making our trip so enjoyable. Highly recommended.

I never felt like I was in danger at any stage, and the local people are lovely and the atmosphere is something that everyone has to experience once in their life. On the Go Tours and especially our guide, Momo, made this experience everything I was hoping for and more. Not only do you cross the bucket list items off such as the Pyramids, the Sphinx, and Valley of the Kings, you get to see some of the local life on the Nile with the Nubian people, you get to witness temples great and small, to any god you can image. I have just returned from the “King Tutankhamun” tour of Egypt and can honestly say I have just had the best experience of my life. From the moment we touched down at the airport On The Go were there for us, transferring us from the airport with ease and welcoming us to our hotel. Sometimes this can be a stressful part of the journey when you’re in a new country but On The Go were able to alleviate that stress for us.
We were lucky enough to have the much loved Momo as our tour guide and he didn’t disappoint. He is kind, caring and full of charisma and made our group of 11 feel looked after and special the whole way through the tour and through his exceptional knowledge and storytelling we learnt the history of the amazing places we visited. Momo made us all feel like family and helped us create a special group dynamic that allowed us travel through Egypt with all of the laughs and fun you would hope for on a group tour. I don’t think there would be one person in our group who wouldn’t rank him as they best tour guide they’ve ever had – myself included.
I upgraded my tour to include the 3 night Nile Cruise which proved to be a great decision – the Nile Cruiser was quite special, with friendly staff on board, a swimming pool and great food. We certainly never went hungry with many options to suit even the fussiest person. There’s even shopping on board!
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many destinations in the world and I now place Egypt as my number 1 destination – I would go back in a heartbeat! I felt completely safe throughout my whole trip and wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to my friends and family. I would recommend On The Go Tours as they are specialists in Egypt and have been so helpful from the booking process and right through the journey. I felt so safe in Egypt and loved every moment. The cruise ship was luxurious with delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. The many temples were amazing to see, Abu Simbel being my favourite. All hotel’s staff were friendly and obliging. The Pyramids of Giza were awesome to see and the light show was stunning! The best part of our tour was our guide Mo mo who I feel really made this tour. He went above and beyond, nothing was a chore to him. My husband and I are recommending Egypt as a holiday destination and On The Go Tours, especially Mo mo.

This should be labeled as a "Jewish history Bible belt tour", our tour guide was Jewish so we got everything from the Jewish perspective; not a nondenominational perspective. Also, lets mention that all of these sites are where "they think" things happened. No one is for sure if any of these sites are truly legit, but everyone seems to "think so". They forgot to pick us up at the airport and we had trouble getting in contact with anyone because our phones would not work in Israel and they wouldn't respond to messages. Our hotel rooms were always set up with the beds joined together like my Father and I were a couple and would be sleeping together. Next the food for breakfast does not take Americans or personal dietary needs into consideration. You are booked at hotels that refuse to serve you milk at dinner no matter what your dietary needs are and that serve salads and fish for breakfast. The hotels are not truly four star hotels. Our last hotel had torn curtains, busted doorway frame, dirty refrigerator and counters. The tour is held in a tiny van not a passenger tour van. When you are on a long ride and have to keep your back pack beside you and can't stretch out you get miserable. The tour guide does not stick to the itinerary and when we pointed out several times he got upset with us. I will be requesting a partial refund for our tour and asking that tour radar no longer use this guide service.

Great job to him. When we reached The Oasis, Salah was informative. He handled the check in and getting our bags to our room. He even offered info on where a working ATM was.
Helal was our tour guide. He was so accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. Patience of a saint with some of our fellow travelers. He is number one in our book,
All tours were good. The fact that most of the sites we went to we were there first made it easy for us to understand and learn from Helal. He was very organized with timing and tickets. Very good with explaining what we were about to do, when we were doing it, and where to meet up. He always had change for us women who needed bathroom money.
The Oasis Hotel in Cairo, Grand Seas in Hurghada and the City Max were the absolute best hotels on the tour. The service, food, accommodations, staff and amenities were great. The spa in Hurghada was one of the best I have been in. I wish we would have been able to spend more time at the City Max. The bus drivers were safe drivers, we can even say the armed guard we had was very alert while he traveled with us (I sat right behind him), making sure at the rest stops, restaurant and shop we all were safe. The Royal Perfume and Oil Shop was such a fabulous shop. All meals that were not included with the price that were arranged for us were good.
Items to work on: The AraCan Luxor Hotel. This hotel, by far, was THE WORSE HOTEL WE HAVE STAYED IN! Ripped carpet, dirty bathtubs, bathrooms that were HORRID! Staff that seemed put out for everything you asked. They DID NOT take our luggage to our rooms. Music at the pool until 1aml. Banging on pipes until 2 am. I asked the front desk to change a 20 EGP for 4 5 EGP and the attendant said no. The second time we stayed there our door would not open. A staff member banged on it until it did and left. We got into the room, it was clear someone else had been in the room (used soap and towels in the bathroom and bed not made). My husband went down to the desk to let them know about the door and bed. (yes, it was opened after 5 mins of banging on it BUT HOW WERE WE EXPECTED TO GET OUT IF WE SHUT IT?) The first person came to the room with a wrench and screw driver. He said he would be back because that was not going to fix it. After 20 mins, 4 men came, fiddled with the door, left to get more tools. Came back, took the door off the hinges, sanded the door down and put it back. Meanwhile, housekeeping came to address the bed. 3 more people are in our room now (total of 7) moved the beds together to make it a king bed with new sheets. When they moved the one twin bed, there was so much trash and dust under it! Now they had to get another man in there to vacuum. What a [expletive removed in moderation] show. This whole fiasco took 1 hour and 45 mins out of our 2 hour break. PLEASE take this hotel off your tour schedule.
The next thing to work on is the last 2 days of the tour when our guide left us (Helal). There were only 4 of us that took the Hurghada option. Helal, had been so good to us during this whole trip. We met up with Salah under a bridge, Helal left us and Salah rode back with us to The Oasis. Checked us in, told us he would meet us at 7am the next morning for our transfer to the airport. After that he disappeared. Our luggage was sitting in the lobby and we had no idea what to do. OK, we got the bell men to take our luggage, fine. The next morning, all 4 of us showed up in the lobby, 7am came and went. I tried texting Salah, no response. At 7:20am a man walked up to my husband and handed him a phone. The caller did not identify himself, just told him to go with the man and get in his van. REALLY? Come on. But us stupid Americans did. Thank God the agent who met us at the airport knew what he was doing. It was very stressful though. We could tell he was trying to go as fast as he could to get us through because our flights left in an hour. LEFT, not boarded, LEFT in an hour. Yes we made our flights but geez, this was one hell of a way to end our vacation, on a sour and stressed note. And why was Helal not an option for tour guides on this survey? He is the face of our tour and did a FABULOUS job. Saying goodbye to him was like saying good bye to one of our children. His performance, knowledge, hospitality and comfort are what we are focusing on for this trip. He made the trip fabulous.
The last thing we would like to contribute: Please put in your literature the must haves for the trip. 1. sunscreen 2. insect repellant 3. sunglasses 4. bottled water 4. snacks for bus rides 5. hat 6. toilet paper (added bonus disinfectant wipes) 7. hand sanitizer 8. a travel pillow for the bus 9, any alcoholic beverages you would like for Answan and Luxor BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY.. As I know some of these items are already on your list, some of them are not.
Overall the tour was good and we got to see a lot of different places in a short period of time. Accommodation is fairly good in all cities although the resort in Cairo is very isolated from anything else so its a bit harder to get anywhere especially pre or post trip. Luxor and Aswan accommodations were next to the Nile and you could easily walk to shops or restaurants outside of the hotels. Wi-Fi is non existant in all of the hotels, if it is free its only in the lobby or pool and fairly poor even then. As it is a group tour time spent at each attraction is usually group driven which often was not long enough for us to properly explore many of the places then there would be stops at Papyrus shops etc which didn't interest us where we would be waiting around. Momo our guide was good but earlier on in the tour especially Day 2 we were not told that we wouldn't be eating lunch till 5pm so none of us were prepared with snacks and we did not stop to get any either so we were all starving and exhausted by that point. Unfortunately it was a tour with incident after incident from a couple mysteriosly leaving the tour and not telling anyone then wanting to rejoin in a different city to people injuring themselves and getting heat exhaustion. Felucca boat trip was enjoyable but it wasn't what a lot of others were expecting and it was just a single boat with a toilet without the support boat described in all of the trip notes. Expect to be sleeping on one big flat deck with a roof with everyone else around you. Boat only sails for around 4 hrs of the 36hrs you're on board. Be aware of all the extra payments at the start of the tour as many people weren't. Overnight sleeper train is very bumby and jolty so not best for sleeping. We had a group of 23 so we had a bigger bus which was more comfortable to spread out then if it was just a mini bus size group. A good tour for seeing Egypt quickly on a budget but not the best if you don't like feeling rushed.

The itinerary was incredible, it gave you an opportunity to visit some of the Egypt’s most culturally and historically significant sites, from the Pyramids to the breathtaking temples and the National Museum. I could not recommend the tour guides highly enough, particularly Momo and Alam. Not only did they teach you everything you’ll ever want to know about ancient Egyptian history, but they did so in a manner that was entertaining and captivating.
Don’t buy into media rubbish, Egypt is an incredible place and a tour like this is the best way to experience everything it has to offer!
