    Asked on August 17th, 2025

I have a couple of questions about this trip. What are some of the high conflicts within the Middle East would I need to watch out for/avoid? What are the crimes with locals and terroristic groups within these areas and how do we avoid any hostile contact? For the food, are we supposed to watch out for leafy greens and mainly focus on cooked foods? What about water? Are we supposed to focus on bottled only? For the sailing aspect, how many individuals are on each boat, and would we be participating sailing i.e. a grinder, tactician, bowman, etc.? How could we utilize doing as much as we possibly could while on this excursion? Do most people fall out of group activities? Is heat exhaustion a main factor? In Egypt, what do we need to do to avoid scammers and paying for excessive permits we don't need or would utilize? What are some factors that need to be considered for a foreigner who's visiting? For memorabilia, what are some of the key things we should avoid and focus on? Where are the tourists generally from, the age brackets, etc.? With the guides, how fluent are they in English? Where are we allowed to convert our currencies to match the local currencies and how much per day should we have on hand?

    • On The Go ToursOperatorWritten August 2025

We only cancel tours if the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advises against all travel to a country. All travel involves some level of risk, so we always recommend keeping up to date with travel advisories. The pyramids and the Egyptian Museum are known hotspots for scams, so the best approach is to agree on a price before accepting any services. It's best to avoid salads that may have been washed in contaminated water, and instead stick to freshly cooked, piping hot foods. Tap water in Egypt is highly chlorinated, so bottled or filtered water is recommended, and ice is best avoided. This tour includes a 3-night cruise from Aswan to Luxor on board a 5-star Nile cruiser. The overall pace is medium, with a balance of free time and sightseeing. The physical rating is moderate, which means you should be able to walk around 5 kilometres without stopping. The most comfortable months to travel, weather-wise, are between September and April. Our Trip Notes provide detailed information on visas, money, weather, and more. Our average group size is around 16 passengers, and groups will never exceed 24. Typically ranging across many ages, with the average being early to mid-40s. On all Signature tours, you'll be escorted by a local, English-speaking tour guide. Each country has guidance on exchanging money on its own information page.

I'm not sure how safe Israel is at the moment? What is the itinerary of the Road to Jordan? Also what flights are included?

    • On The Go ToursOperatorWritten January 2025

We aren't operating tours to Israel at this very moment but are hopeful that in coming weeks and months we will once again be able to resume our incredible itineraries that visit this beautiful country. Neither of these itineraries include any flights, you will have to arrange your own international airfare as well as your flight between Egypt and Jordan, however we do give you the details for this internal flight.
