My first On The Go trip and certainly not my last! Egypt was simply incredible. My guide, Alam was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful and the itinerary was so well put together. My guide, Alam was so kind, knowledgeable and helpful and the itinerary was so well put together. I feel like I saw so much in a short space of time, but still had the opportunity to relax by the pool on a few occasions too. The hotels were great and the food was incredible, especially on the felucca where everything was home-cooked by the crew onboard.
Egypt itself is an incredible country. The Pyramids, Valley of the Kings and Philae were my personal highlights. Importantly, the country felt so safe, and I was perfectly comfortable going for a wander around Cairo and Luxor by myself in the evenings. Overall I was blown away by Egypt and by the trip, I couldn't recommend it enough!

Travelling to Egypt was a life-long dream of mine and this tour was the trip of a lifetime. Everything from the beginning to the end of tour went very smoothly and was very well organised and planned.…Travelling to Egypt was a life-long dream of mine and this tour was the trip of a lifetime. Everything from the beginning to the end of tour went very smoothly and was very well organised and planned. The hotels were all lovely, very comfortable and often with amazing views. Our tour guide Alam kept us all entertained and shared his knowledge of Egyptian history and culture with us, as well as very useful tips on the best places to shop and eat. Some people were concerned when I told them of my plans to visit Egypt, but I always felt safe and looked after. I was very sad to leave Egypt and my tour family, and i can't wait to visit again!

We spent New Years 2020 in Egypt on a 9 day Essential Egypt Tour. 25 travellers visited all of the major sites of antiquity: Pyramids, Great Sphinx, Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Nubian Village (an extra), and other temples and tombs. Alam Mido was our primary guide and he was fabulous. Knowledgeable. Personable. Patient. Kind. The sleeper train back to Cairo was an adventure and actually easy to sleep on or maybe I was just very tired. The hotels were okay - I disliked the carpets in the two out of three hotel rooms as they're just unhygienic. The fellow travellers ranged from twenties to eighty and got on well. The New Years dinner which was a gift from the company was lovely and appreciated. The Christmas discount made the tour even more appealing. Very good value.

In my experience, tours, however well organised, can be made, or broken, by the tour guide. Our guide, Alam, was fabulous - extremely knowledgeable (he's an Egyptologist), who very clearly explained everything to us, and professional. On a personal level, he was very caring of the "Family" (as he called our group); always available, nothing too much trouble, inclusive, personable, and funny. Alam = Jewel of the Nile.

Alam was our guide for the back street tour and then the 13 day King Ramses with cruise. He was extremely knowledgeable and got on so well with our entire group. He made us all feel welcome was happy to help with any small query day or night. Great job Alam. Will certainly use On The Go again

It was the perfect length tour. My husband and I were by ourselves for the first day and then joined a group for the rest - total of 13 people.
Everything about the tour was fantastically organized and the itinerary and pace was fantastic. We got a lot done but still had plenty of down time so we weren't exhausted.
Hotels and accomodation was fantastic.
The best bit of all however was our tour guide Alam. He made the whole experience calm and enjoyable and was very knowledgable. Egypt would not be even half as enjoyable without the insight and company Alam provided.
We love Egypt and after some initial concerns about our safety traveling there were pleasantly surprised at how safe we felt. Everyone was completely accomodating and friendly and I have learnt most Egyptians are comedians!!
Egypt is a safe place to travel :)

Unfortunately Egypt has mixed reviews on its safety, so I would like reassure people Egypt is safe for travelers.
It’s a must do trip, however the experience is made much better having a local guide.
With talks of the government making the attractions like the pyramids less accessible in an aid to help preserve them, I would recommend people to go sooner then later.

My close friend and I joined this tour and thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip! We saw all the main sites, and were very well informed about each place we visited by our knowledgeable tour guide. I love that the tour guide, Alam, gave time for this after a formal presentation. Also, I love the thrill activities at Hurghada resort (desert quad bike, snorkeling, and parasailing).
One minor recommendation is that 1. on the itinerary made available after booking this tour online, the need for socket adapters probably should be emphasized more and should be at the beginning of the itinerary activities description (currently it’s somewhere at the last). I do applaud the helpful and timely accommodation of an adapter for me in Luxor by one of the On-The-Go crew. This is very commendable (Before going to Luxor, in Cairo at the Holiday inn, luckily they had a usb on the wall for me to plug my charger in).
Also on the train from Cairo to Luxor, the transportation ministry or the train agency probably needs to be informed of the need to improve conditions of the bathroom facilities. As someone who works for a local government, I understand that this will not happen overnight, or in a week, or even a month or two. It will probably be part of a ‘package’ proposed improvement contract once other many other improvement recommendations are collected and consolidated. But the first step towards future corrective action on this is to at least document it and inform them...
Aside from these, I enjoyed everything and everybody’s company!! Tour guides, representatives, and crews were very friendly and accommodating. Thank you.

Safety was never an issue. Not only did we have security escorts on all buses, our tour guide was there and stood up for us when the locals went too far. The information and time provided at each tour site was perfect. And you just cannot ignore the beauty of Egypt.

Alam our tour guide was brilliant, his knowledge and passion for ancient Egypt was amazing. No question was too much whether about ancient day or modern Egyptian culture. Alam showed us Egypt in a fun and honest way. As a guide we couldn’t have asked for anyone better, we were 16 people who became Alam’s family!
For anyone worrying about tour safety, On the Go provided security as required, at no time did we ever feel unsafe.
This is a place not to be missed, a beautiful country with beautiful people who need the support of tourism to flourish.

Our tour guide Alam was the cherry on top of the cake. He was very knowledgeable in all aspects. He was great at uniting strangers into a family and had us all in stitches. We learnt so much from him not only about the history of egypt but the life of an egyptian too.
We enjoyed the "on the go" pace of the tour!! And found ourselves completely captivated by the tombs and the atmosphere of egypt.
We would recommend this tour ten times over!!
Above all else we recommend that this tour and this country is safe! Until we meet again egypt ♡

He was extremely knowledgeable and having a young kid himself, he understood the level of detail to cover with us before the kids got bored. All the logistics worked perfectly and we loved the hotels on the Nile and the sights were just incredible.
My son left his cuddly toys in Aswan and I mentioned this to Alam one morning (we were now in Luxor). Somehow he worked his magic and my son was reunited with his toys the next day despite us being hours by train from where he left them.
My thanks to Alam for a wonderful trip and being such a great guy. Book with Alam and you will be very happy

Alam was the perfect guide having the proper education and knowledge while making it all fun and thrilling at the same time. He is not only a smart and knowledgeable guide but he is also a very nice and caring person. He cares about his group and treats everyone as family. The itinerary was great. We chose the 5D4N options. We had enough time for ourselves in Rovaniemi.

Our guide Aurora was very nice to explain to her group - which had so many group types in different languages (Spanish, Italian, English). But she managed to explain to each one clearly on our itinerary. This tour was more like half guided tour, yet we have enough free time for ourselves to explore the area. It was good as we managed to cover the main activities: Husky sledge, snowmobile, Santa clause village (transport provided, but free and easy), aurora night. Sad that during our time, we couldn't see the aurora due to weather conditions. As this wasn't a "guaranteed" aurora tour, we just went to the spot and had bbq and drinks, and went back after an hour plus or so. There are private tours if you'd like to catch the aurora (guaranteed), just have to pay additional.
It was also convenient to reach the hotel as the hotel is situated right opposite a bus stop. Rooms at the designated hotel was comfortable and spacious. The tour catered to specific dietary restrictions as well, which was good.
Overall, we had a great experience at Lapland through this tour. Thanks.

He was able to choose an alternate route when a bad accident closed the planned one. He was very accommodating assisting passengers access their hotels and b&b’s. His timing and recommendations for breaks was excellent.

We had a good trip with a group of wonderful people. Tour guides in Egypt and Jordan were very knowledgeable.

The only thing I might …This tour was fantastic. We had a chance to visit all the important sites and we got a couple of days of R&R at a wonderful resort on the Red Sea. It was a perfect combination. The only thing I might change is taking a flight from Cairo to Aswan as opposed to the overnight train. Additionally, adding Abu Simbel in the regular itinerary even if it means adding to the cost of the overall trop.
Our tour guide Alam was very good and added a great deal to the pleasure of the whole experience.

Our tour was very well organised and ran smoothly from start to finish. There were only 6 group members as travel to Egypt has only just become easier and everyone got on very well. Special mention to our guide Alam, who is very knowledgeable about Egyptology, but also very friendly and caring. He made sure we had plenty of time to visit all the tourist sights, advised us on what and what not to buy, took us to some excellent restaurants and also made sure we had time to relax and enjoy our hotel facilities. The tour is a perfect choice for a first time visitor to Egypt wanting to see the historic highlights of the country, but also enjoy downtime on the Nile and the Red Sea.
