  Is this trip doable for a person who can only walk for about 10 minutes at a time without needing to sit down. Person can climb 2 flights of stairs.

    Although the Physical rating of this tour is easy, the pace is fast, and you will need to keep up with the pace of the group. We are likely to be hiking on the Isle of Sky and walking part will be much longer than 10 minutes. So I'm afraid this tour can be challenging if you need a rest after 10 minutes walk.

  Would this itinerary allow us to ride the "Harry Potter" train?

    While the Scottish Highlands From Edinburgh – 5 days tour is a fantastic journey, it doesn't include a ride on the Jacobite Steam Train (aka the "Harry Potter" train), and the stop in Fort William is too brief to make that happen. We travel to the jaw-dropping Glenfinnan Viaduct. Harry Potter fans will recognize it from the second movie, when harry and Ron attempt to catch up to the Hogwarts Express in a flying car. We cannot guarantee that the Jacobite Steam train that still operates here will cross the bridge during our visit, but the viaduct itself remains a wonderful viewpoint and feat of engineering.

  My daughter(31), myself(73) and my best friend(73) are traveling together. My daughter and I will share a room with twin beds and my friend will probably have her own room, unless there is anyway to save her some money and book us in a larger room with 3 beds. If she will be charged the solo rate anyway, then there is no reason to room us all together. I have looked at the guesthouses mentioned for Ullapool and Portree and wondered if we can specify which one would be our first choice, as they are quite a bit different. Also, when would we be notified as to where we were going to be staying once we sign up and pay the deposit?

    We could offer 1 x TWN room for yourself and your daughter to share and your friend could book a single room on their own, to save money we can request a Triple room however would need to contact our local team for cost and availability. The hotels listed on our website are ones which we frequently use on this tour. We reserve the right to substitute these hotels to ones of a similar standard. Guesthouses do book very quickly and if booking 2 rooms even as a group I must inform you that there is a chance your friend may not be booked at the same accommodation as you and your daughter, we always do our best to keep those travelling as a group together however as rooms are limited, we can not guarantee. You can request your preference and we would be more than happy to let our local team know. Accommodations are confirmed 60days prior to departure and will be reflected on your travel vouchers once booked.

    This tour is rated on the easy side in regards to physical activity. As long as you're physically fit and have no mobility issues, you'll be fine. We usually recommend you be able to walk at least 2kms without assistance before signing up to this tour. You won't be hiking more than 2kms at any one time.

  Mobility issues restrict our ability to climb a lot of stairs or hike or walk long distances. Can we be accommodated on this tour? We do not use wheelchairs.

    Our buses are not wheelchair accessible, however we have large luggage compartments which may easily take a manual folding wheelchair or walking frame. At this time we cannot accommodate battery-operated wheelchairs or walking aids. Our staff are not able to offer physical assistance when boarding or disembarking from the buses or at any point during the tour. Guests should be comfortable getting on and off the bus on their own or with the assistance of a travelling companion.

    On The Isle of Sky there is no fixed itinerary for the day. The weather can be unpredictable, so your guide will choose the best highlights to show you in accordance with the conditions and any events that may be happening on the island during your visit. We are likely to be hiking, but if you don't want to do it you can stay at the hotel and enjoy harbor town of Portree where we stay for another night. Famous Talisker Whisky destillary is only 30 minutes drive by car. There are not many long walks but moderate fitness is required on this tour.

    There would be quite a bit of walking, however travel will be mainly done by coach or mini bus, if you are tired then you are more then welcome to sit in the bus and wait - its not a problem.
