  I went in Winter, the best time of year in my opinion for less crowds and great walking. Though you have to be prepared for many things to be closed. The problem with this tour was that NO indication was given that there would be changes due to the off-season and I did not receive all the dinners and breakfasts as advertised and did NOT receive any discounts and recompense. The Cinque Terra office did their best to accomodate me and the hotels and restaurants I went to were good however, not getting an advertised tour that I paid in full for was not ok. Otherwise the walks were great but should be adjusted in off-season for the shorter daylight hours. It was impossible to do it all as scheduled.Show more

  Hi Dianne, Thanks for your review, I am sorry that your tour didnt live up your expectations, unfortunately during the winter season many hotels and restaurants in the Cinque Terre are closed and reopen in the spring months. Being this the first booking we receive in that time of the year we had to slightly change the itinerary to guarantee it. So, since no one here has become rich with this booking, I d like to explain the facts - the dinners provided were 5,all breakfasts were included at all accommodations. To make travel easier, a train pass Sestri Levante - La Spezia was provided, valid for 1 month, at a cost of 80 Euros.( not included in the total tour cost,but provided anyway) So no one here has spared resources to ensure the tour takes place. Regarding the missed dinner, it would have been more useful to write to me directly, let me know the situation, send me the receipt of the restaurant where you had dinner and I could have reimbursed you quickly. But you preferred to write here so we could not do anything to fix tha issue. Thanks Best regards Omar

  The scenery and accommodation was generally very good and particularly at Sestri Lavante. It would also be good if all rooms had a fridge. We found some the hiking very arduous and sometimes dangerous. I believe that it would not be possible for an 80 year old to complete most of the hikes. I am a fit 70 year old and found it very difficult at times. The maps were generally good although somewhat misleading particularly on the last day. Also there was no 6 o’clock ferry on the last day and were lucky to just catch the 5 o’clock ferry.Show more
